Iโm kind of sick of the Crk fandom right now (certain parts of it), with the amount of toxicity shown to the devs and hate rising because of the last updatesโ ending. Itโs not our choice what happens, and itโs also not our place to put knives at their throats and pressure them into regretting their choices. Iโve been seeing so many people complaining about white Lily cookieโs death that no one is actually enjoying the character development and plot build-up thatโs been happening. Donโt get me wrong, Iโm upset that she died, too, but Iโm not going to comment on the devโs posts saying โyโall better runโ or โwhat the hell was this update it was so trashโ and even โtf was this writing, bruh. The writing department did such a shitty jobโ. In my opinion, Iโm disgusted by how much hate and mean comments are being thrown around. Now, I donโt mean to offend anyone, but do stick with me, okay?
I understand why people are upset. Someone even committed suicide because of this (as far as Iโve heard this is a real event, if I heard wrong, then I am terribly sorry), and people are taking what happened and blaming it on the developers. It was not the developers fault that this person took their own life. I hate that someone died, I really do, but one has to be in a really bad place first to be able to take their own life.
โI would like people to start showing a little more respect towards this whole situation, as it;s honestly kind of uncomfortable how toxic many parts of the fandom have grown. There are still non-toxic parts, of course, and youโre allowed to share your disdain, but we really shouldnโt be putting knives at the developers throat and making them regret their decisions.
Now, related to the Shadow Milk and Beast Cookies part of the update, yes, itโs really annoying that the other Beasts were kind of just sidelined, and holy fuck theyโre dead (not forever, as the devs have mentioned the possibility of there being awakened Beasts in the future, as well as other things), and I agree that Shadow Milk kind of abruptly got all this power and lore and overall just genuine plot, but that was always their goal. Devsis has said that they have always planned on eventually focusing on the Beasts and Shadow Milk Cookieโs role in the Crk universe, so itโs really not up to us to make them regret their choices.
It is THEIR game, and THEY are the creators. If you or someone else isnโt happy with everything thatโs happened in the last update, you can be upset, of course, but please donโt, like, revolt against them.
Regarding White Lily Cookies death (a bit better): she did not die for nothing. She knew that by killing dark enchantress cookie, there was a high chance of her disappearing, too. Death does not mean freedom; that is not what the message her sacrifice was supposed to mean, but rather that she had come to terms with what had to be done, and she understood that โtrue freedom comes when every cookie finds the strength to confront their own destinyโ -White Lily. She will be returning. The devs have confirmed that there is still so much planned for her, and I feel like people are so bent on seeing the negativity of the updateโs situation that they are forgetting or choosing to ignore the fact that she isn;t fully dead, not really. Yes pv cried, yes she disintegrated, but story-wise and considering the last five years of effort and buildup, it really doesnโt make sense for her to be permanently gone.
Anyways. My point is, Iโve been kind of disgusted with all the hate and toxicity rising in the community, and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts. If anything I said doesnโt make sense or is confusing, do ask, and Iโll try to clarify.
Guys if this made you upset or angry or self-aware, try to look into why it made you feel like that. Maybe youโve been doing something like this. I know that Iโve been pretty biased, so Iโm trying to keep more of an open mind.
