Gunwoo who doesnât trust people often but since you worked with Mr. Choi he found himself trusting you easily. You looked friendly and your smile made him melt, so ultimately he found himself getting pulled in by your charm.
Gunwoo who isn't big on words, he prefers showing his affection with his actions. For example, handling heavy bags for you (with his strong arms), making sure to put food on your plate during meals, and texting small check-ins to make sure you're safe from harm.
Gunwoo who is quite private, so when you two started dating you both didn't say anything, everyone figured out themselves. Woojin was definitely the first to notice though.
Gunwoo who secretly enjoys seeing you fuss over him after he gets hurt because your little angry face seems cute to him (he knows you can't stay mad at him). He likes watching you tend to his wounds and doing what you're good at. Even before you two dated he looked forward to seeing you after needing medical attention
Gunwoo who is always worried about you even though you know how to handle your own wounds. He's always asking "Are you sure you're okay?" or "Did you take the medicine?". Poor boy just wants you to be out of harms way.
Gunwoo who wants you to know some basic self-defense because you already knew how to tend to wounds. He'd patiently teach you how to throw punches and keep your guard up, always making sure to praise you after doing something right.
Gunwoo who is so proud when he learns that you know how to use knives and where is most vital to stab.
Gunwoo who even though he knows you know how to properly handle yourself, he hates to see you involved in his mess. He hates to see you get involved, especially if violence is a must. If you ever got hurt during a fight he would carry a lot of guilt. But he secretly appreciates that you stay anyways.
Gunwoo who will do anything to protect you and his mom from the IKFC because you and his mom are his biggest weaknesses. (he knows Woojin can handle himself)
Gunwoo who is extremely loyal to you because he believes you are his person. Someone who heals his wounds physically and mentally.

âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
Rafayel always knew you were oblivious.
He just hadnât realized the extent of the problem until the two of you started dating.
Because apparently, in your world, people just casually gave out their phone numbers, called strangers gorgeous, bought drinks for people âto be polite,â and asked if someone was single strictly for academic purposes.
It drove him insane.
âYouâre pretty today.â
You looked up from your menu with a bright smile. âAw, thank you!â
The waiter smiled back. âPretty enough that I almost forgot your boyfriend was sitting right there.â
You laughed politely. Politely. Rafayel lowered his menu very slowly.
âAnd what can I get for you, sir?â the waiter asked, straining a smile.
âThe strength to endure this conversation,â Rafayel replied flatly.
You almost laughed, but instead nudged him under the table. âDonât be rude.â
The waiter left a minute later, suspiciously smiley and absolutely shameless.
The second he disappeared, Rafayel leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed tightly over his chest. Silent, and very pouty.
You looked up from your drink, ââŚAre you mad?â
âNo.â His lips were pushed forward so much he genuinely resembled an offended puffer fish.
âRafayel.â Nothing.
âRaf.â Still nothing.
His cheeks looked slightly puffed out now too, multicoloured eyes narrowed at the window like the entire ocean had personally betrayed him.
Poor Raf was sulking.
You bit back a smile. âYou look constipated.â
âI look heartbroken.â
âIs there a difference?â
âA significant one.â
You laughed softly, reaching across the table to poke his cheek. It was firm from how hard he was pouting.
âYou look like you belong in the ocean as a puffer fish.â A finger still poking at his cheeks.
He let out an offended gasp, âI do not!â
âYou absolutely do.â
âIâm suffering.â
âYouâre puffing.â
Rafayel grabbed your wrist dramatically before you could poke him again.
âCutie,â he said with deep betrayal, âthat man was flirting with you in front of me.â
Your brows furrowed. ââŚNo he wasnât.â
Rafayel stared at you for a long moment before dropping his head onto the table with a muffled groan.
âHe literally said he forgot I existed because you were pretty.â
âOh.â You paused. âI thought he was joking.â
âHe was testing the boundaries of my self-restraint.â
You smiled helplessly. âI genuinely didnât notice.â
âI know,â Rafayel mumbled into the table. âThatâs why I canât even be properly angry.â
That was the problem. If you were entertaining people on purpose, maybe he couldâve acted annoyed.
But you always looked so genuinely confused afterward.
You slid your hand into his purple hair, scratching lightly at his scalp. Instantly, Rafayel melted a little, making him finally lift his head from the table.
âNow, why are you glaring at the salt shaker?â You tilt your head to meet his eyes.
âItâs representing him.â
You stared at him for two seconds before bursting into laughter loud enough that nearby tables glanced over.
Rafayel looked deeply offended by your reaction.
âYou mock my pain.â
âYou compared a waiter to table salt.â
âHe was a piranha that was seasoned with audacity.â
That only made you laugh harder.
Rafayel watched you for a moment, expression slowly softening despite himself. Honestly, this happened so often that he shouldâve been used to it by now.
Someone flirted with you. You failed to notice.
Rafayel puffed up like an emotionally compromised sea creature.
Then you looked at him like he personally changed the tides, and suddenly he forgot how to stay upset.
A tragic cycleâŚfor him at least.
You leaned across the table, smiling sweetly.âYouâre cute when youâre jealous.â
âI am not cute, Iâm expressing anguish.â
âYou look like youâre about to float away.â
Rafayel narrowed his eyes.
Then, with all the dignity of a dramatic marine deity, he leaned forward and stole a quick kiss from you right there in the restaurant.
Just enough to leave you blinking afterward.
âThere,â he said smugly, sitting back down. âNow everyone knows youâre taken.â
You touched your face, flustered.
ââŚThat was unnecessary.â
âAnd yet highly satisfying.â
His pout had completely vanished now.
You squinted at him. âYou just wanted attention.â
He shrugged, âFine, I surrender!â He had a cheeky smile stuck on his face.
a/n: how is itâŚhopefully you guys liked it! i found this super cute, i would love to make more jealous raf in the future.

Summary: You struggle with feeling overwhelmed and unappreciated as you take on too many responsibilities in your family after Neteyamâs death. âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
Another night that you stood just beyond the marui, feet half-buried in cool sand, eyes fixed on the sky. The bright, round moon stared back and the stars stretched endlessly above youâbright, distant, untouchable.
You wondered if they ever got tired of watching. If they ever noticed the ones who held everything together.
Your arms were crossed tightly over your chest, nails pressing into your skin as you tried to keep yourself steady.
It was easier out here. No expectations. No voices calling your name. No one asked something of you.
Because thatâs all it ever felt like now.
âCan you help with this?â
âWhereâs Tuk?â
âLoâak ran off again!â
âCan youââ
âCan youââ
âCan youââ
STOP! You screamed in your head, your eyes squeezed shut. The voices echoing in your head, poking at you no matter how much you hid.
Even before Neteyam died⌠you had been the one picking up the pieces. Making sure Tuk was fed, making sure Loâak didnât get himself into trouble, and helping Kiri when she got overwhelmed. All because you knew Neteyam already had it hard. Being first in line, all the pressure, you wanted him to relax.
Second oldest.
But it never felt like that. It felt like you were the third parent.
And no one questioned it. No one stopped you. No one said, âHey, you donât have to carry all of this.â
They just let you.
And over timeâŚthey expected it.
Your laugh faded. Your patience wore thin. Your words got shorter, sharper. The warmth you used to carry slowly turned into something heavier.
Something Tired, something no one ever tried to notice.Â
Because now, when you snapped or pulled away, it wasnât âSheâs overwhelmed.â It was;
"She's just being difficult."
"Sis is being mean!"
"You changed."
Your throat tightened. Of course I changed.Â
You tilted your head back, staring up at the stars, blinking rapidly.
âYou see it, donât you?â you whispered, your voice trembling. âYou see everything.â The stars flickered as if it was responding to you.
Your hands dropped to your sides, fingers curling helplessly.
âI do everything Iâm supposed to do. I take care of them, I listen, I helpâI do everything.â Your breath hitched. âBut no one sees me.â The words came out small. Broken.
âThey only notice when I mess up.â A tear slipped down your cheek, then another. You wiped at them quickly, but it didnât matter.
âI miss when it was different,â you whispered, your knees feeling weak. âWhen heââ
Your voice broke completely, collapsing into the sand. âWhen Dad actually⌠looked at me.â Silence swallowed your words.
The memory hit harder than you expectedâ
Jake laughing with you. Teaching you. Calling you âkidâ and âbabygirlâ Â in that softer voice he didnât use anymore.
Back when you didnât feel like a responsibility. Back when you felt like his daughter.
A sob escaped you before you could stop it. âI donât know what Iâm doing wrong,â you admitted to the sky. âI donât know how to fix it.â
Your shoulders shook, the weight of everything finally spilling over.
âI miss you Neteyam, Iâm so tired.â
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
When the sun rose the next day, the responsibilities came back.Â
âLoâak donât go off on your ilu alone.â You warned, a stern tone matched with a tired face.
Loâak barely paused, one foot already in the water, hands gripping his iluâs reins. âBro! Iâll be fine,â he shot back, that careless tone.
âNo, Loâakââ But he was already gone.
The ilu surged forward, slicing through the water as he disappeared into the horizon. You stood there for a moment, jaw tightening.
Of course.
You exhaled slowly, dragging a hand down your face before turning back toward the marui.
âTuk, eat,â you called, your voice firm but lacking the energy it used to carry.
âI donât want to,â Tuk whined, poking at the food with a frown, her hair rustling as she shook her head.
You crouched beside her, softer now despite the exhaustion pulling at you. âYou need to. Come on.â
Kiri glanced up briefly from where she sat, watching you with that quiet, knowing lookâbut she didnât say anything. She never did.
You stayed there until Tuk finally took a few bites, nodding in approval before standing again.
Another task done. Another thing checked off. Another piece of yourself chipped away.
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
âWhereâs Loâak?â
The voice came from behind you. You didnât have to turn around to know who it was.
âHe went out,â you answered shortly.
Jake stepped closer, his presence heavy even without him saying anything else. âAlone?â
You nodded once. Then there was a pause.
âYou let him go out alone?â The words hit sharper than they should have.
Your shoulders stiffened. âI told him not to,â you said, turning to face him now. âHe didnât listen.â
Jakeâs expression hardened slightly. âThen you shouldâve stopped him.â
Something in you snapped.
âIâm not his father,â you said, your voice tighter than intended.
Jake frowned. âYouâre his older sister. Youâre supposed toââ
ââwhat?â you cut him off, a bitter edge slipping through. âMake every decision for him? Control everything he does? Fix every mistake before it happens?â
Jakeâs brows pulled together. âWatch your tone.â
âThereâs nothing wrong with it.â I stood my ground, if I was old enough to have to take care of my siblings and all the responsibilities, then I could stand against my dad.
Jakeâs jaw tightened at that, his voice dropping. âYou donât speak to me like that.â
A bitter laugh escaped your lips. âOh, now you care how I speak?â you shot back, arms crossing tightly over your chest. âNot when Iâm running around doing everything else, though, right?â
âThatâs not what this is about.â
âThen what is it about?â your voice rose despite yourself. âBecause from where Iâm standing, it looks like I messed up again.â
âI didnât say that.â
âYou didnât have to,â you snapped. The words hung there, heavy and sharp.
Jake stepped closer, his presence pressing in. âYouâre acting out.â
Your expression hardened and your ears pressed into your skull. âActing out?â you repeated, quieter nowâbut that only made it worse. âIs that what you think this is?â Your eyes squinted in pain from what he thought.
âYouâve been off for a while now,â he said. âShort-tempered. Disrespectful. This isnât you.â
Your hands clenched at your sides.
âYou donât get to decide that,â you said, your voice trembling despite how hard you tried to steady it. âYou donât even know me anymore.â
Jakeâs expression faltered, just slightly, but you caught it.
âI know my daughter,â he said, firmer now, like he was trying to regain control of the conversation.
âDo you?â you challenged. âBecause it sure feels like the opposite. You only ever talk to me when Iâve done something wrong. Or when you need me to do something.â
âThatâs not trueâŚâ His resolve was flattering. Because the more he thought about it the more it felt true.
âIt is, I know it is, you donât have to say it is for me to knowâ I put a hand out and created distance between us.Â
For a moment, it looked like he was actually thinking, actually listening. But of course he was stubborn.
âYouâre overreacting,â he said.
And just like that something inside you broke. You stared at him, like you didnât quite recognize the person standing in front of you. âOverreacting,â you repeated, barely above a whisper.
Jake sighed, rubbing his temple. âIâm just saying, youâre blowing this out of proportion. Itâs one situationââ
âItâs not one situation!â your voice cracked loudly now, emotion spilling over before you could stop it. âItâs everything!â
The force of it startled even you.
âIâve been doing this for years,â you continued, tears burning in your eyes now. âTaking care of them, fixing things, sacrificing things I enjoy doing just to make sure everything doesnât fall apart! Andâand you donât even notice!â You slapped a hand over your heart, your beaded top digging into the flesh of your hands and your chest.
Jakeâs expression shifted, but you didnât stop.
âI try so hard,â you said, your voice shaking, tears now streaming down your face. âAnd the one time something slips, itâs suddenly my fault?â
âI never said it was your fault.â
âYou didnât have to!â you shouted. âYou always look at me like it is!â
Silence crashed down between you. Your breathing was uneven now, your chest rising and falling too fast.
Jake opened his mouth, like he was about to say somethingâsomething that mightâve mattered. But you were already stepping away, ready to run away, afraid that his next words will hurt too much.
âKidââ
âNo!â you cut him off, your voice breaking. âIâm tired of this. Iâm tired of trying to explain something you donât even want to understand!â
âThatâs notââ
âIt is!â you insisted, tears finally spilling over. âYou donât listen. You never listen until it gets this bad.â You took quicker steps until you started running.
Jakeâs face tightened. His ears flattening and his hand reaching out to nothing.
âThatâs not what I was gonna sayâŚâ He finished the sentence you cut off, quietly, making sure only himself could hear it.
As you ran your chest ached, eyes blurred, and thoughts all crammed together.
A part of you wished he would follow.
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
When you reached the family marui, you hoped it would be empty.Â
But of course, it wasnât. Neytiri and Kiri stood inside, their head turning when they heard footsteps
Your steps faltered for half a secondâbut you forced them forward anyway.
Neytiriâs ears twitched at the sound of your uneven breathing, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took in your tear-streaked face.
âMaâiteâwhat happened?â she asked, already moving toward you.Â
Kiri followed a step behind, her voice softer but just as concerned. âWhatâs wrong?â
You shook your head immediately. âNothing,â you said too quickly, brushing past them.
Neytiri caught your wrist before you could fully pass. Not harshâjust enough to stop you.
âDo not lie to me,â she said, her tone firm but laced with worry. âYou are hurting.â
Your chest tightened. âI said itâs nothing,â you repeated, more strained this time, pulling your arm back.
Kiri stepped closer now, studying your face. âDid you fight with Dad?â
Silence. That was enough to answer.
âSisâŚâ Kiri started, trying to reach out for you.
âIâm fine, Kiri.â You insisted, even though it was obvious that you werenât. âI justâŚI need air,â you paused. âPleaseâ
Neytiriâs gaze softened, but she didnât move to block you this time. âBe safe, my child.â She placed a hand on your head before letting you off.
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
The shoreline welcomed you with open silence.
The waves rolled in slow, steady rhythms, the moonlight stretching across the water like a path you couldnât follow.
You walked until the marui was out of sight.
Until the voices faded. Until it was just you and the sky.
Your knees gave out before you even realized it, the sand cool beneath you as you dropped down, arms wrapping around yourself like you were trying to hold the pieces together.
For a while, you said nothing. Just listened to the ocean.
You tried to steady your breathing. Tried to stop the ache in your chest from spilling over again.
It didnât work, It never did.
Your head tilted back slowly, eyes finding the moon again. Bright, unmoving, just watching.
A shaky breath left you. ââŚYouâre still there, right?â you whispered.
Your voice sounded small against the open air. âThe stars⌠the moon⌠you see everything.â
Your fingers dug into your arms again.
âThen you saw that,â you murmured, your throat tightening. âYou heard it.â
Your voice cracked slightly. âI tried,â you said quietly. âI really did.â
A tear slipped down your temple into your hair.
âI donât know what else Iâm supposed to do,â you admitted, staring up at the sky like it might answer you this time. âNo matter what I say, itâs wrong. No matter what I do, itâs not enough.â
Your breathing hitched. âI donât think he even hears me.â
The words hung there, too much emotion. ââŚI miss when he did.â
Silence answered you. Only the waves, only the wind, only the distant shimmer of stars that couldnât reach you.
Your shoulders shook as you curled in on yourself slightly. âIâm so tired,â you whispered again.
Time passed. You didnât know how much.
The moon shifted slightly higher, the tide inching closer to your feet. The world kept moving, even while you felt stuck in the same place.
And thenâFootsteps.
Not very loud at first, but it got closer. You stiffened, wiping at your face quickly, trying to pull yourself back together beforeâ
âHey, kid.â JakeâŚand that nickname you missed so much.
You didnât turn around. You didnât dare move.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The distance between you felt heavier than before. His footsteps stopped a few paces behind you.
âIâve been looking for you,â he said.
You let out a quiet, humorless breath. âYou found me.â
Another long pause. âI heard what you said,â he admitted, his steps slowed to stand next to your form.
Your chest tightened. âOf course you did,â you muttered.
âThatâs notââ he stopped himself, exhaling slowly. âThatâs not why Iâm here.â
You hugged your knees tighter, staring straight ahead at the water. âThen why are you here?â you asked, your voice tired more than anything else.
Jake didnât answer right away.
You could hear him shift slightly in the sand behind you, like he wasnât sure how close he was allowed to get.
âI messed that up,â he said finally.
You swallowed. âThatâs⌠not new,â you replied quietly.
He nodded, even though you couldnât see it.
âI know,â he said.
That caught you off guard.
Silence stretched again.
âI shouldnât have said you were overreacting,â he continued. âThat wasââ he shook his head slightly. âThat was me not wanting to admit you were right.â
Your fingers tightened slightly around your arms.
You still didnât turn.
âI didnât hear you,â he said. âNot really. Not until it got to that point.â
A bitter edge crept into your voice. âYeah. Thatâs kind of the problemââ
ââI know,â he repeated. âI heard what you said about carrying everything,â he added, quieter now. âAbout being tired.â
Your breath caught slightly.
âI didnât realize how much I was putting on you,â he said. âOr how long itâs been like that.â
You blinked rapidly, trying to hold back tears as you stared at the reflection of the moon in the water. âItâs been a while,â you murmured.
Jake took a careful step closer, close enough to touch but far enough to give you enough space to pull away.
âYou shouldnât have had to handle all of that,â he said. âThatâs my job. Not yours.â
Your throat tightened. âBut someone had to,â you whispered.
âI know,â he said. âAnd you stepped up. Iâm proud of youâŚâ He took a moment to gather his thoughts. âBut that doesnât mean I shouldâve let you keep carrying it alone.â
Your eyes burned again, tears wet your lashes. You finally turned your headâjust slightlyâenough to glance at him over your shoulder.
His expression was different now, he wasnât frustrated, angry, or disappointed. His face showed his regret.
âI didnât mean what I said,â he added. âAbout you acting out.â
You looked away again quickly before he could see the tears that dripped down your cheeks.
âIt didnât sound like that,â you muttered.
âI knowâŚandâand Iâm sorry.â he tried to get a look at his daughter's face.
The honesty in that made your chest ache and for a moment, neither of you spoke again.
The waves filled the silence.
ââŚYou really talk to the sky?â he asked.
You huffed quietly, embarrassed despite everything. âYeah. Stupid, right?â
âNo,â he said immediately.
You blinked.
âItâs not,â he added. âGuess it means you needed someone to listen, and I wasnât there for you.â
That hit harder than anything else heâd said. Your shoulders dropped slightly.
ââŚYeah,â you admitted, the slight crack in your voice made Jakeâs heart break.
âIâm so sorry, my sweet girl.â He fell onto his knees in the cool sand and wrapped his arms around your shoulders. His embrace was calming, warm, like a father.
All you did was nod through tears and hold onto him.
This might not be forgiveness but it was a step forward.

You sat at the edge of the marui, staring out at the endless stretch of water. The waves moved the same, the wind sounded the sameâbut everything else had changed.
The weight of losing your older brother greatly affected everyone.
Ever since Neteyam died nothing had been the same. Nothing felt right, everything you did felt wrong.
Jake especially made this clear.
He knew what he was doing.
He hadnât said it. Not once. Not directly.
But it was the looks he gave you. The way his eyes passed over you now, lingering on everyone else just a second longer. In the way his voice softened for your siblings but turned short, clipped, distant when it came to you.
You hated it.
You felt small under your fathers gaze. It was unfair. You didnât want Neteyam to get shot, you didnât want him to be targeted by the RDA. It simply happened, and Jakeâyour very own fatherâdecided the blood would rest on your hands.
It was like he didnât know what to do with you anymore. Like every time he looked at you, he saw what he lost.
His firstborn.
The one everyone thought was better.
You were just a shadow of what he was, even if you were as flawless as him, you were always at a disadvantage. No matter how good your skills were, no matter how much you trained, you were always known as âNeteyam's sisterâ , never by name.
It was unfair, it really was. He never once treated Kiri and Tuk the way he treated you. He even treated Loâak better. Not to compare but it was unfair. Kiri and Tuk got those sweet nicknames, âBabygirlâ and âSweetheartâ. Those havenât been used for you in years.
After your first hunt, after your talent was evident, he trained you to the bone. Your childhood was practically stripped away from you, but you found it as more time to spend with your dad. The name Babygirl suddenly stopped being used when you officially became able to hunt. Yet those nicknames had no expiration date for Kiri.
You were still his daughter too. And now you're here spiraling.
Alone.
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
Tears spilled from your golden eyes. The ones that used to hold so much happiness, the ones that used to be filled with positivity now feel dull.
You pulled your knees closer to your chest, nails digging into your arms as your thoughts swarmed.
You shouldâve done more.
You shouldâve been there.
You killed your own brother.
âI didnât,â you whispered to the ocean, to Neteyamâwho you hoped was listening from Eywaâs memories. âIâm trying so hardâŚI promiseâ
But it never felt like it mattered.
No matter how hard you try, it wouldnât bring him back.
Your chest tightened painfully, breath coming in uneven waves. You felt stuckâlike no matter where you went, the feeling followed. Heavy. Suffocating.
You didnât know how to make it stop.
So you stood up and ran, ran to where the water met the sand. A hand reached to the band of your loincloth, the sharp, curved knife that rested there. You wrapped your fingers around the hilt, slowly pulling it from its place.
Your eyes remained close, silent sobs escaped your mouth as you brought the hook of the knife to your neck. Gently pressing the cool metal to your neck, yet not enough pressure to cut.
It hurt too much.
âââ˘âžâ˘ââ
Jake sat in the marui, sharpening his own knife while he talked to his mate who saw what was happening in real time.
âMaâJake,â she said sharply, her tail flicking with agitation, âdo not think that I do not see it.â
Jake didnât dare to look up. âSee what?â
Her ears pinned slightly at his dismissive tone. âThe way you look at her.â
That made his hand pause.
Neytiri stepped closer, her voice lowering but losing none of its intensity. âYour silence. Your distance. This⌠coldness you carry only for her.â
Jake exhaled, setting the knife down harder than necessary. âThatâs not what this is.â
âThen what is it?â Neytiri challenged, her eyes showing how desperately she wanted Jake to see his mistakes. âBecause our daughter is breaking in front of us.â
That made him look up.
For the first time, something uncertain flickered in his eyes.
âSheâs strong,â he said, quieter now. âShe can handle it.â
Neytiriâs expression hardened. âStrength does not mean she does not feel pain.â
Jake clenched his jaw. His eyes slowly digging from Neytiri to the gloomy night,
âYou think I do not know grief?â Neytiri continued, her voice trembling nowânot with anger, but with something deeper. âI lost a son too.â
Jake eventually started to drain out her voice as he zoned out, his gaze on the ocean outside and the bioluminescent coral that faintly showed in the waters.
But then his gaze caught something that made his instincts flare.
His ears perked up, and when he squinted his eyes, he shot up.
It was you, his daughter with what seems to be a knife pressed against your throat.
His hands turned clammy and he rushed out of the marui, leaving a confused Neytiri.
He ran fast. His heart in his throat.
âHey!â Jakeâs voice cut through the night, sharp, panicked. âHeyâstop!â
You flinched. The knife in your hand faltered, lowering just slightly, but you didnât turn around.
âDonât come closer!â you warned, your voice shaking despite your attempt to sound firm.
Jake slowed, but only by a fraction. His hands lifted, open, carefulâlike approaching something fragile that might shatter at any second.
âAlright,â he said quickly, breathing unevenly. âOkayâŚI wonât. Just⌠just talk to me, kid.â
You let out a broken laugh, the sound hollow. âNow you want to talk?â
That hit harder than any blade.
Jake swallowed, forcing himself to stay steady. âI shouldâve talked to you before. Thatâs on me. I know that.â
Silence stretched between you, filled only by the sound of the ocean.
Your grip on the knife tightened again.
âI canât do this anymore,â you said, your voice cracking. âI donât know how to fix it. I donât know how to be⌠what you want me to be.â
Jakeâs chest tightened painfully. âI donât want you to be anyone else.â
âThatâs not true!â you snapped, finally turning to face him. Tears streaked your face, eyes burning. âYou look at me like Iâm the reason heâs gone!â
âI neverââ
âYou donât have to say it!â your voice broke. âItâs in the way you look at me! Like I'm not enough, like I was the cause, like I forever disappointed you!â
Jake froze. He heard it. And he saw it too.
All the pain heâd been pretending wasnât there.
Your hand trembled, the knife wavering again.
âIâm so tired,â you whispered. âI try so hard, but it doesnât matter. Nothing I do matters to you anymore. Sometimes I think you forget I'm your daughter too.â
âThatâs not true,â Jake said, his voice rough, stepping forward despite your earlier warning.
You didnât stop him this time.
âYou matter,â he continued, more firmly now. âMore than anything. Youâre my daughter, always and forever.â
Your expression twisted, like you didnât believe a word.
Jake reached you slowly, carefully.
âGive me the knife,â he said quietly.
You hesitated.
For a moment, it looked like you might refuse. But then your grip loosened.
The blade slipped from your hand, landing softly in the sand.
Jake exhaled shakily, relief hitting him all at once. He kicked it further away without taking his eyes off you.
And thenâHe reached for you.
But you reacted instantly.
Your hands shoved against his chest.
âDonât!â you choked out, hitting him again, your strength uneven but desperate. âDonât just fix it nowâŚdonât act like it didnât happen!â
Jake didnât stop you. Didnât step back.
He let you push, let you hit, even when it stung. âCause he knew this wasnât anger.
This was everything youâd been holding in.
âI know,â he said softly. âI know, Babygirl, I messed up.â
Your eyes widened at that nickname, but you refused to give in. And so you hit him again, weaker this time. âYou left me! You were still here, but you left me! You always treated me differently, why didnât I get your soft side. Is it because I'm older? Because I'm stronger?â
That broke something in him. His ears pressed against his skull and his eyes showed the pain he felt for you.
âNoâIâm sorry,â Jake said, his voice cracking. âIâm so sorry, Babygirl. I didnât even realize how bad it gotâI just⌠I lost him, and I shut down.â
Your hands slowed.
âI never blamed you,â he added quickly, more urgent now. âNot once. That was never on you. You hear me? Never.â
Your arms dropped.
The fight drained out of you all at once.
And then you broke.
A sob tore through your chest as your knees gave out, but Jake caught you before you could fall.
He pulled you into him, holding you tightâfirm, grounding, not letting go.
âI thought you didnât want me anymore,â you cried. âI thought I wasnât enoughââ
âHey, no,â Jake said immediately, tightening his hold. âDonât say that. Donât ever think that.â
His voice dropped, thick with emotion.
âYouâre my daughter,â he said. âI need you. Just as you are. Not himânot anyone else. You.â
âIâve got you,â he murmured, one hand cradling the back of your head as you cried into his chest. âIâve got you. Iâm here.â
âIâm so sorry, girlâ He repeatedâhoping maybe it would help, even just a little.
âIs it too much to ask to be treated fairly? Is it too much to ask to be loved?â Your voice was small, barely over a whisper.
âNoâBabygirl, Iâm so sorry.â He felt his own eyes fog up as he pressed a kiss to your head. âI See You, I see you now, okay? So talk to me, please, I canât lose you too.â
All you did was nod, you were too tired to give a response.
Behind him, Neytiri had stopped a few paces away, her hand pressed to her mouth as she watched.
And when she saw you two hugging she let out a sigh of relief, followed with a smile and tears rolling down her cheeks.
Maybe everything is gonna be ok.

I was hoping you could make one where reader is feeling overlooked and treated like a failure by her dad Jake ever since neteyam died. Jake silently blames but only out of the loss of his firstborn son. At one point reader feels hopeless and like a dissapointment. she doesnt know what to do anymore and is tired of feeling this way so she tries to commit but jake catches her and stops her right on time. saving her and apologizing. she tries to fight it and keeps hitting him but she gives up sobbing into his chest. THANK YOIUUUU! mwahh

Dad!Jake who relies on you a lot more than he realizes. He trusts your judgment when he's too busy to be yelling orders left and right. He also trusts you the most with tuk, kiri and loâak. (he knows Neteyam can handle himself)
Dad!Jake whoâs overprotective of you because you were his first daughter, and he believes no one would ever be good enough for someone as capable as you.
Dad!Jake who will never hesitate to run to you if you ever call for help while injured, because he knows that you wouldnât stop at a small injury.
Dad!Jake who was tough on you ever since he saw how you took after neytiri with the bow. Most of your childhood was being taught proper form and learning how to aim properly.
Dad!Jake who trained you harder than neteyam and loâak because he saw that fire in you. He trusted you to know what to do in hard situations, even though it was a lot of pressure for you, you never complained.
Dad!Jake, who didnât know how to deal with your first few meltdowns, after a mistake and him correcting you harshly, you broke down. He didnât know how to handle it because he was used to a fierce and strong daughter you always showed. So he let you run away.
Dad!Jake who listened to you pour out your emotions one night after another argument occurred. He listened to how you felt like you couldnât mess up, how you always felt like he treated kiri and tuk differently just because you were older. He really listened, and his heart broke.
Dad!Jake who started to learn how to separate "leader" from âfatherâ for you because he hated how he made you feel like less.Â
Dad!Jake who started expressing how proud he was of you. Heâd rest his hand on your headâor shoulders and tell you that you've done well that day or some sort of praise.
Dad!Jake who would start sitting next to you under the stars, in silence or not, he would stay just to let you know that he would always be there.
Dad!Jake who started to see his little girl who just wanted her fathers love.
