Summary: The boy His Royal Highness saved during the parade has been nothing but trouble, but Mu Qing seems to be the only one who sees the obsession that has taken root. Every time he turns around, the boy's somehow there, watching, wanting so badly to get by Xie Lian's side. To do what? Mu Qing refuses to wait around to find out. After a bit of convincing from Hua Cheng, Xie Lian decides to shapeshift and join his husband in spying on-or as Xie Lian liked to put it, observing-the local villagers. However, while traveling, they quickly find a much better show to watch in the woods.

Getting Hua Cheng to bed after a night of drinking is harder than Xie Lian thought. Things aren't helped when they come across a mirror and Hua Cheng is certain that Xie Lian's reflection needs help and that his own reflection is a brute up to no good.
