XVIII The Moon

this isn’t a beginner’s post on how to practice divination, use the runes or read tarot cards, rather a discussion about my way of practicing and how i incorporate different kinds of reading altogether

here is my setup, i keep all my divination stuffs in a leather pouch i made. it depens on the occasion, but i usually do readings with 3 different methods that can be used together or separate

1. the runes

this is my favorite way of reading, because runes are so straightforward and right to the point. what i do like about them is that runes won’t sugar coat things for you ; if you’re screwing hard, you’re sure as heck gonna hear about it but same goes if you’re going in the right direction. sometimes, the runes will be harsh on you and tell you things you don’t want to hear but you can always count on them to tell the truth. the two best tips i ever read on how to bond with your runes are the following : - sleep with them under your pillow, and take notes of any dreams you had in the night - try to look for rune shapes in the nature, or everywhere in your surroundings. look for runes and the runes will find you

2. astragalomancy

this is a more uncommon way of practicing divination, but i like it because its so versatile. you can use it to predict numbers, time, and overall apply the knowledge of numerology to it. im a massive d&d and tabletop games in general player, so this is how i came around it. even for the simple decisions of life, it’s so useful ; you throw a dice, you get an answer. sometimes i’ll also use it to choose how many runes i’m gonna use in a specific spread
