But the point is, there's something so enticing about watching one's partner simply come undone, and though he knows there's a dozen-dozen ways to do such a thing, he finds the flavor sweetest when he leads.
"Really?" Ronen stares at him, struck with befuddlement. "You do come off as a man with control issues," (Sharp rolls his eyes), "but surely you've tried."
"A handful," Sharp admits with a shrug. "Not with him though."
Their lunches are brief affairs on school days and Sharp's not about to stop and yap if it means missing out on sustenance. Since beginning to spend holiday breaks with Teodoro, Sharp's made a decent effort on eating regularly on campus. As it turns out, getting used to being properly fed leaves one rattling with anger when the urge to eat is ignored. Even if they're only sandwiches like today (on the light end, to boot), Sharp rathers to keep an even mood when he knows his next class is going to test his patience. So if Ronen wants to continue, he'll deal with Sharp's brevity and like it.
"But not once…? Surely he's asked." Prying bastard. Ronen pauses for another sip from a novelty teacup he's brought with him. "Or is it a leg issue? If you turned on your side, then—"
Sharp wags half a sandwich at the other, "If you want him to fuck someone that badly, nominate yourself, Abraham. I'm sure he'd take you up on the offer."
With a sigh of disappointment of a subject shelved, Ronen finishes his cup. "And you know my stance." Of course. Even if he weren't Teodoro's instructor for Charms, his position of Head of House makes it a conflict of interest. Ronen would also have to be interested for it to work. Ah well. His loss.

also minor rant, every time i hear someone shit on folks who use 3d models as a base, i want to physically beat them, because while yes, it DOES remove a lot of early stage guesswork, it doesn't miraculously hand you the means to use it effectively, nor does it teach you things like fat distribution and musculature. (or composition, or shading, etc etc...)

My favorite is going in FIRST with the looney tunes scenarios, because GOD IS IT A FUN MENTAL EXERCISE WHEN YOU'RE NEW. It really helps you work on getting your character voices down.

Teodoro Tesoro: The Empress
In 1895, Teodoro is two years graduated, and five since his crash-course introduction into the wizarding world. He's struggled, he's fought, and through those trial, he's come out much stronger than ever. In 1895, Teodoro is personified by the upright Empress card.
When it comes to relationships, this card also heralds a stable, serious and committed relationship. Because the card also represents motherhood, sometimes it can also signal marriage or pregnancy, or at least a new family.

In his relationships, Teodoro has both strengthened those with his friends, as well as put down roots within his community—both immediate, in Aranshire, and in business, in Hogsmeade. He both offers himself in support of others, and leans on them in return—no longer hesitant to reaching out. His senses of self-esteem and self-worth have both solidified. He knows he's skilled and capable of impressive growth. He's not trying to seek approval from anyone, spare for maybe customer satisfaction (but that's on a vastly different scale of things).
He works with animals as his primary career, and rather than work toward peak efficiency, he goes out of his way to study and research them to offer better care. Spending extra time with ailing creatures is commonplace, including bringing struggling Mooncalves into his home to hand-rear.
His uncertain and fledgling relationship with Aesop Sharp is in its third year, and going strong. This is the year they will marry.
Aesop Sharp: The Fool
For several years, Aesop was stuck in a rut shaped by guilt and fueled by the fixation to return to a state of being already long out of reach. In 1895, though he's made some attempts to move on, this is when he finally cuts free and chooses a new path for himself. In 1895, Aesop is personified by the upright Fool card.
The arrival of The Fool signals your own desire for freedom and exploration. You feel invigorated at the thought of stepping outside your comfort zone or starting a new chapter in life.

Three years ago, he tentatively began a relationship with Teodoro. For several months, guilt surrounding his age and academic position dogs him. But as he slowly sheds that and realizes the joy there is to find, he embraces things. With both incredibly independent and busy, theirs' is a quiet romance where they come together for both peace and intellectual stimulation.
As time goes on and he gains confidence, despite the ugly and painful event that initially revealed their feelings to one another, Aesop wants nothing more than to keep moving forward. He's never seriously considered marriage until now. It's new. It's intimidating. But he's not letting go.
This is also the year when his health issues reaches a critical crux; with his mobility in a downward spiral and chronic pain more intrusive than ever, he makes the decision to amputate his leg. The removal will mark not only the end of his search for a cure, but effectively bar him from ever resuming his former career as an Auror. It's not a decision made lightly, but one made after serious consideration and communication. Wanting desperately to keep up with Teodoro, or at least not watch his life turn into a cascade of growing accommodations-made, Aesop makes the call, and for once, sticks to his recovery plan with the tenacity and drive he carried as an Auror. By the time they're wed in summer, he attends standing strong, already well-practiced on a custom-made prosthetic.
At a glance, these don't seem like light-hearted choices. However, coming out of a state of survivor's guilt and slow-burning self-destruction, these are all huge improvements to his life. Shedding anxieties and obsessions, he embraces the joy in his life and chooses to care for himself. These routes are new to him, untraveled, and bold, and to everyone on the outside looking in, utterly insane.
Abraham Ronen: The Hierophant
While at any earlier point, both Teodoro and Aesop would have been described with different cards, Abraham holds strong. As early as 1890, Abraham is personified by the upright Hierophant card.

"Tradition" is many things to Abraham. It exists as his father's stern teachings and his mother's prayers. So too is it a broadly-reaching sentiment. Tradition to him is not strictly to repeat actions for the sake of repeating them, but to seek patterns that support and uplift. His teaching methods are not seen as traditional, but he agrees. However, to him, education itself is a tradition, and so long as necessary skills are safely imparted and instilled in students, should the methods matter?
In the wake of the Amortentia incident, though the Ministry of Magic has failed Teodoro in many ways, Abraham finds their ruling separating the young man and Aesop as much as possibly ultimately correct.
To counter those wrongdoings and to ease the ethically correct imposed distance, Abraham leans hard on tradition as a means of providing structure and support. He offers guidance to Teodoro to worry less about rushing into adulthood, and gives him a safe place to vent his frustrations, free of judgement. Care of the Ministry investigation he was a part of, and thus, fully aware of Aesop's original intentions to never so much as speak his attraction to Teodoro, Abraham gives Aesop unflinching backing, frequently reminding Aesop of the man's stalwart moral backbone.
He continues to act as a mentor through all of Teodoro's school years, and when the other reaches the age of consent, only gives his blessing for the young man to remind Aesop of his romantic interests when Abraham is certain Teodoro has reached a state where he's able to stand up for himself and not merely pursue for the sake of filling an emotional void.
As well, while Abraham is a married man, others would consider his union non-traditional. He and his wife pursue others separately, though they consider themselves fully committed to one another. Writing frequently when apart, the pair are extremely honest and communicative with one another. Like with his ideals of education, so long as your spouse or partner is given genuine love and enabled to seek their interests, and so long as your relationship is one full of earnesty and honesty, with concerns open and addressed...why sweat the other details? To him, he is acting as proper husband and finds joy in treating his wife as an equal.
In times prior, Aesop had expressed sexually interest in Abraham. However, in 1890, Aesop is, largely, a mess. By 1895, settled in non-conventional, but very strong relationship, Aesop has also started taking his health seriously. So, seeing his friend reinvigorated and very serious about his changes, knowing that Teodoro is also interested, Abraham reconsiders his refusal. Together, Abraham is a transient piece in their relationship. He comes and goes as time allows. With all three existing in overlap as friends, mentors and mentee, coworkers, and mutual annoyances, even with the pronounced difference in ages between them, they balance each other well.
Guidance is not only for the young. Friendship and community create the strongest support nets. These are the truths he lives by and will continue to stand for, even if the methodology get a bit muddled in the middle.

I really don’t give a fuck if someone glorifies or romanticizes bad, very fucked up things in fanfiction. that’s the point of dark fantasies, and the point of dark fantasies is that they are Not Real.
no one in real life gets hurt because someone has dark fantasies somewhere.
the only victims in this case are imaginary people, fictional characters with no lives, souls or feelings.
and it’s fun and therapeutic to indulge in dark fantasies from time to time, as long as they stay fantasies. and I trust that people can separate fiction from reality.
harassing or shaming people for having dark fantasies, for the sake of imaginary children and fictional characters, will still make you a bully who values the lives of imaginary people over real people.
adding to this that if you’re writing from an antagonist’s pov, you will almost certainly glorify the bad things your antagonist does.
and it’s more than okay if your antagonist wins in the end.
not every piece of fiction has to end with the good guy winning. not every piece of fiction has to end with a perfect life lesson. especially when you create for yourself and your own enjoyment.

Understimulated and without the patience instilled through experience, by the three hour mark, Teodoro begrudgingly accepts that perhaps Ronen and Fig have the right of things: Teodoro is young, and youth is a curse. With nothing better to do, he's dug several holes (eaten a crab extracted from one of them), a shallow trench stretching several feet, and rubbed his underside nearly raw from scuffing himself around in circles. Though the first pinks of the encroaching evening slow blot upward from the thin line where sea meets sky, and the worst of the day's heat is gone, as the sun sinks, its escape feels like a moot point. It's long-stolen any residual energy from Teodoro, leaving him sluggish and listless. And though he knows he needs to watch, he keeps letting his head droop down, sinking his face fully into the chilled water. His scalp tingles. His cheeks burn. His back feels like it's constricting, from his neck and shoulders, all the way down.
The sun, he thinks bitterly, is entirely overrated.
