would any of the beast folk be particularly jealous if their human yumeshipped/self shipped themselves with a fictional character. Like having a small plushie of that character or an Ita bag and bringing it around

hmmm, well, the beastfolks are pretty behind on mental health, and it really depends on the individual, and whether their darling even has access to tv or internet in the first place. the more rural the area, the less likely beastfolk would be okay with it. the more liberal, the less they'd care as long as their darling keeps things in healthy moderation

the lion bastard wouldn't give his darling any access at all. not even overdone parental controls. also...i lowk see him as a boomer, honestly LOL but he at least knows enough that the internet has the power to expose everything he did not want to be seen. highly doubt he'd trust his darling with that.

He watches her from a distance at first, and protects her.

anyway, as for this one, it's a bit too similar to my tyrant since he is technically an alpha undead (if not modified and made from a little of everything). i might actually write a piece on the aftermath or something instead. but for now i'll just link the series for yall.

hm, depends on the species they're based on. most of the time they, including humans living/sharing their spaces, just need to take social/culture/sensitivity classes to mind themselves from triggering/upsetting someone else (be it human or beastfolk).

that said, there are some who are too strong, like lions and gorilla-based beastfolk. i don't think any pill could fix that, so they might have to wear some kind of strength restictive equipment if the individual has a lot of troubles restricting their own strength, which is typically pretty common with those going through puberty.

most of the time, those struggling with their own strength already have outlets to help. beastfolks can refuse to wear the equipment, but they don't really happen very often either, since they're essentially for training themselves. it's fairly rare to see anyone still relying on such objects past their puberty, though, but it probably would be the norm to take them out of society (schools, typically) until they can deal with the said issue.

size wise? no, can't really fix that, but the mythical human ancestor from the beginning of time (albeit never outright proven) is believed to be the reason why there are set limits to how much a beastfolk can grow. for example, elephant based beastfolks will get bigger than most others, but they are still smaller than their wild four legged counterpart on average. there would of course, be some rare cases of giantism, but they are not at all common, much like our irl cases with humans.

UHHHH, mostly timeline stuff and regional differences. as a disclaimer, the au's world would have a very different set of history than we irl do, so not only would they have completely different names, religions, cultures, etc. (while still being inspired by and having some similarities), their events would've differed as well. we don't have beastfolks in our world, so not having that race didn't change anything for us. but in an alternative timeline that does have another race in the same world? of course things would've been different.

the biggest is to acknowledging that applachia (this au's version of america) isn't the whole world. some events, like the zoo and the breakout, either never happened, happened earlier, or happened later in other countries.

this is also the world that was never truly fully connected oversea until the zoo breakout happened. applachia remained isolated and closed off, left without communication tech or internet for the longest time. their own ancestors built the literal walls between both races (on the same land, even) due to racism, fear, and just a lack of understanding between humans and beastfolk. so initially, both sides only had a vague knowledge of each other, in the sense of being mythical. sure, their leaders and certain underground circles knew the truth, had common dealings (sex and breeding rings come to mind), but their relationships were always tense pre-zoo.

that history is mainly focused on applachia, though.

other countries would've entirely different stories. some might have religions based on the other race. belief systems, caste systems, entire societies built around how humans and beastfolks interact--or don't at all. however, i'm still doing research on the side because i really don't want to accidentally offend anyone from those cultures while still incorporating similar elements into my own writing.

Would the 3-4 beastfolk baby daddies compete over the reader? Or just reluctantly share her with the other beastfolk in some sort of weird custody agreement? Or even some just take their baby and leave reader absolutely no fucks given? 😭

(This question is for beastfolk that aren’t part of some pack. So no canine beastfolk or something. I’m thinking like a bull is a baby daddy, a wolf is a baby daddy, a bear is a baby daddy, etc. They’re all different animals)

i'm assuming this is the one you're referring to.

biologically speaking, two different fathers, max, for a natural pregnancy. human bodies aren't built for more than that, outside the usual odd flukes. that said, the odds can increase when there are drugs involved that tamper with the ovulation, which wouldn't be uncommon in more corrupted brothels, auction houses, and other similar areas. even then, triple/more siring would be pretty rare.

lucky, even. might've even been looked at as a lucky charm, of sorts, depending on who's running the place and the patrons there.

double siring is probably as rare as having (human) twins, really.

what happens after?

well, that's complicated. Multiple beastfolk sires, none bonded, and all from different subspecies? yes, there would've been fights over the darling. the instincts don't stop, after all. some might just want the baby and couldn't care less about the birther. some might feel a sense of obligation.

and it's not unheard of for one to just leave 'for a pack of cigarettes' and never return, either.

ultimately, I can't give you a solid, single answer, because everyone's different. cultures, regions, eras, individual personalities--all still factors in. What I can say is, it can definitely get messy for sure.

hmmm, not sure how to answer this one.

a part of me wants to say that cerelos wouldn't care. he'd lived most of his life being someone's puppet as a young prince. he'd know what to expect, psychologically wise, and that would be what makes him so scary. he's the emperor, his entire role is to manipulate people to serve his empire and people.

so…what would make his darling think they could get by hiding within themselves so easily?

He'd just accepted it. A broken doll can't run away after all. They can't defy him. They can't leave.

another part of me, though, feels that, yes, he'd probably regret it for one brief moment--but it'd changes nothing anyway. the life he had was all he knew. he'd survived it, so will his darling. it was simply inevitable, even if he did everything right, anyway. they were too frail, but he expected that. even with that regret, he'd never apologize.

Do beastfolks generally decide who they want to spend the rest of their lives with, like at what age?

Is teenage pregnancy (baby trap) common because the beastfolk thinks they've found the love of their life, or not? Or do they only decide who they want as mates when they're adults?

ah, not this kind of question, no.

eh, dependent? genuinely not sure how to answer, honestly. papa bull and conservative lion are some of my characters who lost their spouses, and well, they made a new life afterward. so, like everyone, life will change a lot of things and alter the path you initially wanted to be on.

that said, there are irl animals who mate for life, so i do imagine their beastfolk counterpart would've been similar. swans immediately come to mind, wolves and bald eagles too. so, in theory, yes, they likely decided on who they'd like to spend the rest of their lives with from a young age. lycas is possibly one of those characters of mine who decided early on that his darling was the only one for him, despite everything that happened between the two (the darling's parents being responsible for 'reporting' him and his family and having them taken away to a zoo).

there are consistencies among subspecies of the beastfolks, sure, but it's never 100%. again, look at some of my characters who lost their spouses. papa bull lost his wife to cancer and had lived his life without her for probably over a decade, taking care of their children. conservative lion was implied to have lost his family to a zoo--and that things ended in tragedy for them. so…life can just happen.

yes, teenager pregnancy can happen. yes, it can be because of those reasons.

and yes, it's not uncommon for those pregnancies to be intentional. when a young beastfolk was convinced they'd found their one, delaying can induce anxiety--and well, teenagers doesn't always think logically. they can be reckless and make those choices, disregarding any possible consequences. sometimes it ends well, sometimes it…becomes a complicated situation to live with. not all of them think this way, of course, but it's one of those recognized patterns. i wouldn't be surprised that stereotypes against certain circles can result from these occurrences.

like i said, everyone is different. i cant even tell you how old at all, because everyone has different lives. i do think fangedfolk, whiskeredfolk, clawedfolk, and toothedfolk--would've been among the biggest offenders though, with the bird-based beastfolks being pretty uncommon. 16 and 17 would probably be an average age.
