Gave my boy a haircut, trying to decide if it stays or goes...

I run a D&D campaign for my friends in a homebrew world I created. It's been such a labor of love, even in times I doubt myself I come through it so proud of the work I've put in and take pride in the joy it brings my friends to be their DM. This image is kind of unremarkable, mainly because I'm still a bit nervous and new to drawing environments. There's much I need to learn, but this is as close as I've been able to capture the kind of atmosphere I so far want to set for the place the players are currently in and traversing.

Homebrew lore:

The country of Amalga Points has 5 regions, this being in the "Varensard" region. Varensard was reclaimed by the rest of Amalga after The Old King was proclaimed dead, thus his people surrendered in the war he wagered. It is one of the more dilapidated places, with it's reputation making it disfavored amongst the other regions and going through a shift in power causing some disruption for its original commerce. It has since then recovered, and fairs off the industrial boom of revitalizing old factories that were once used for entirely different purposes. However, some factories still remain as relics of the past. I wanted a somber kind of landscape with some old industrial building in the distance, but couldn't find any examples online to properly act as a backdrop for the game we play. So I decided to make one myself. I attempted to do this before with another landscape, but uh, it really kinda sucked. It wasn't the worst, but this here is the improved result of that. My focus was more on the values as some of the color is still off to me, but I think rides the line as I didn't want to portray this as totally gloomy persay. This is nature and the setting should feel calming and quiet. So I feel pretty good with what I accomplished!
