Audre Lorde, from The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action
Urgent Appeal 🥊
Hello my friend 👋
My name is Mohammed, I live in Gaza City and I am 19 years old. I have lived through the full horrors of war — hunger, displacement, fear, relentless bombings, destruction, and so many other painful experiences 🥹😭.I never created a donation link before, and I haven’t received any kind of help throughout this devastating war 🥲💔.
I was so happy when the ceasefire was announced, and I dreamed of starting a small shop to earn a living. But sadly, the war returned — even more violent and destructive than before 😭.Our area has now been declared a dangerous combat zone, and we lost our home — the only shelter we had 💔.
Worst of all, my father was seriously injured: he tragically lost one of his hands and an eye, and he is now completely unable to work or support our family 🥲😭.
Prices have skyrocketed, and we have no source of income. I’m launching this donation campaign now with a broken heart but a little hope 🥲.
Please, for the sake of humanity and for the sake of my family, consider making a donation to help us survive 🙏💔.
I just created the donation link, hoping that someone out there might lend a helping hand.
My name is Mohammed. I am 18 years old and live in Gaza City. I am still at the beginning of my life, dreaming of a better future. My father
Please don’t let me down 🙏❤️🩹
Hello,
I am Jaafar from Gaza. I am currently in northern Gaza, and we have not yet been displaced to the south. Things are very difficult here — the cost of moving to the south is $1,000, and a single tent also costs $1,000, if we can even find a place in southern Gaza. The south is overcrowded, and renting a plot of land costs $1,000 per month, or even more depending on the area. 🙂😢
I started a donation campaign in the middle of the war and received good support, but due to personal circumstances, I recently created a new link, and unfortunately, I have only received a small amount of donations so far. 😓💔 I appeal to you to help me with my new campaign and donate whatever you can 🥺😭. Every amount you give will save the lives of my family and me and may help us cover the cost of moving to southern Gaza! 😓 Thank you, and I pray that God blesses you and provides for you 🧡🫂
Here is the donation link ⬇️**
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Barnes and I am a US citizen organizing this campaign on behalf of my friend Jaafar, who is raising funds to sup
Hello friends 🧡
My name is Bilal. I am a 35-year-old father of four children 👨👧👦 from Gaza. I lived a simple life with my family. I worked hard every day to provide my children with a decent life and a better future.
But the war took everything from us… 💔
In a sudden bombing, my home was destroyed, and the place that once brought my family together became nothing but ruins. I lost several members of my family, and I, my wife, and my daughter were injured, leaving us with deep physical and emotional suffering.
After losing my home, my job, and my only source of income, I became unable to work because of my injuries. My responsibilities became greater than my ability to provide. Today, I live with my children in a small, worn-out tent ⛺ that does not protect us from the heat of the sun ☀️, the cold of winter ❄️, insects 🐜, or rats 🐭 that have become part of our daily struggle.
Even the little food we manage to get 🍞 does not remain safe for us, as the rats eat it, and my children cannot eat it afterward. We are living in extremely difficult conditions, trying only to survive through fear and hardship 💔.
The tent where we live is located near the yellow line, and we have nowhere else to go or a safe place to shelter. It breaks my heart to see my children suffering while I cannot provide what they need 😢.
I ask kind-hearted people ❤️ to stand with me and help us provide medical treatment for my wife and daughter 🏥, secure the basic needs for my children, and help us overcome these unbearable circumstances after losing everything.
Because of the war in Gaza, I lost everything — my home 🏚️ and my work in law, as I am a law graduate ⚖️. My wife and my daughter Malak suff
Please donate whatever you can to help us and stand by us during this difficult time 🙏. Your support can give my family new hope and help my children have a safer and more dignified life 🤍.
Please share our story with anyone who may be able to help 🤲.
Thank you to everyone who extends a helping hand and feels our pain ❤️.

The mile-long rainbow flag being carried down First Avenue in New York City.
“For New York City Pride in 1994 (Stonewall 25), Baker created a mile-long rainbow flag that was carried down First Avenue in Manhattan. During the parade, Baker used scissors to cut segments from the flag to be rushed to Fifth Avenue for an impromptu protest march in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the headquarters of New York City’s anti-gay Catholic archdiocese.

This just made me shed a tear. They want the breakfast menu I am so sensitive
ursula k le guin's the ones who walk away from omelas, which dares you to imagine the story of a young witch looking for her neighbor's cat in the alps
i have to say i think its kind of baffling when omelas is taken as a very literal trolley problem about a tortured kid instead of, like, pointedly making fun of the common idea that a positive world, social change, pleasure itself, must come with some sort of painful caveat in order for that happiness to hold meaning or exist in the first place... so many interpretations treat the idea of people walking away from a (very obviously hypothetical) utopia with an even more hypothetical evil underbelly as them lazily giving up on reforming Omelas the Real City, rather than them philosophically abandoning the idea that the (again, entirely theoretical) Omelas represents (that pleasure cannot exist without pain).
what is even the relevance of this to the "I would save the kid instead of abandoning it because I actually believe in changing the world" interpretations.
The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist: a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em. If it hurts, repeat it. But to praise despair is to condemn delight, to embrace violence is to lose hold of everything else. We have almost lost hold; we can no longer describe happy man, nor make any celebration of joy. (...) Do you believe? Do you accept the festival, the city, the joy? No? Then let me describe one more thing.
omelas is beat for beat written like "Imagine a perfect world where nothing is wrong. all the people are happy all the time. they have all of whatever you think is good and nothing of whatever you think is bad. there is no pain here. Most people reading this probably dismissed this idea as fantastical and unintellectual, because people like to think that this concept, pleasure without pain, the societal reform implied, could never be achievable, even in art. it's a cynical trap people fall into regularly. you can't even say the city was happy without people wondering what the catch is. With that in mind, what if I said this world was nice and good because they tortured a kid and it would all come to ruins if they ever didn't torture the kid? I bet most people reading this immediately saw our hypothetical world as way more believable. things like that are real but the world where no one hurts is stupid baby nonsense. obviously. some people choose to walk away from all of this, you know, but I wouldn't be able to describe where they go. you wouldn't even be able to imagine that world."
and people are like omg i would save the kid obviously
Since the ceasefire was announced, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more wounded.
Gaza continues to endure a harsh reality, with the ongoing occupation of large parts of the Strip, severe water and food shortages, and soaring temperatures.
The genocide and the most horrific war in history will not end...

Over the past few days, I asked for your help to cover Eid expenses and to buy medication for my parents. Yesterday, we experienced a very nearby airstrike that caused significant damage, including damage to our tent.
We are living with fear every moment. Every minute feels uncertain, and the war has never truly ended. The situation continues to worsen, and I could lose my life at any moment. Please do not forget my family and loved ones. Any support you can provide, even to help us repair the damage, would mean so much to us. We urgently need your help. These are some photos showing the damage and the area that was bombed. Please support and help us in any way you can. We need everything.😭💔

this might be kind of a reach but is there a way for printers to connect to devices so that documents can be printed from them
