Her inner world is devoid of vivid emotional color; instead of feelings, she experiences physical sensations (a lump in her throat, a heaviness in her chest, fatigue) and a cold, precise logic.
In conflicts, she doesn't show the expected reactionsโno tears, no anger, only an analytical indifference that others mistake for arrogance or callousness. Her concern that Ashlyn is "taking everything on herself" is a rational assessment of the risk of burnout and decreased team productivity. Her advice to "not worry" is a sincere attempt to optimize the process, not a consolation.
For Celeste, Taylor is an interesting social phenomenon. Her kindness and modesty seem energy-inefficient to Celeste, yet they arouse curiosity. The statement "You're so great" is not a compliment, but a statement of fact based on observation of Taylor's actions. Celeste attempts to analyze her "illogical" actions like a complex equation.
Tyler is the first "glitch" in her system. He evokes not a feeling, but a persistent state of heightened attention and analytical activity.
