Wait just a second…

It took more than just a father to make a child, didn’t it? The raven was clearly no expert in the area but he was a 19-year-old pirate captain who did have some of the basics down.  If there was a dad there was a mom.

Shouldn’t they go to the mother? There were obvious reasons for why the infant couldn’t go with Shanks. Not only was the man a drunk but the New World was no place for a child to be, not on a pirate ship even more so. But to just give them away? To just hand them over for the life of a marine…

That was just as bad as what had happened to Sabo if you asked the rubber man. If that’s what his old man really wanted to do for this kid, he’d be the first to fight for their freedom. “You can’t do that.”

All he knew was that it seemed like the same situation that had taken place more than twenty years ago and that sent shivers down the man's back as he watched the boy in his arms currently.  Originally this afternoon, he was ordered to kill the baby with his hands. Arguments were being made, even though he had stepped down to instructor, the marine navy still wanted him to chase down the child. 

The raven was completely dumbfounded, leaving him staring at his grandfather with an open mouth. His brain formulated no thoughts other than to register that he was in shock. A baby from Shanks? The same man that had saved him, given him his arm and inspired him to become future king of the pirates? That same man had a baby? Someone like him, who couldn’t even comprehend how babies were made, to try and wrap this around his brain? One thing was for sure though and it was that he didn’t like this.

It was just like Ace.

Shanks was a infamous pirate, hated by the entire world for nothing less than his father. Wouldn’t’ this child be the exact way? Wouldn’t they carry the same exact burden that his deceased big brother had? It left quite the bitter sweet taste in his mouth.

"Is that really Shanks?"

A name came out in a whisper. "Lu..."

He had no idea what words to speak, so he showed him a pamphlet that were from the marines. "I'll raise him on the seas, Lu. Make the boy grow up with the marines and make it so they never know."

Those were the terms that were given to him from the redheaded pirate. 

  "GO TO YOUR ROOM AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU’VE DONE!"

*Later on you could hear a scream faintly heard from the top floor*

The rubber man sat in the corner of his room and thought about what he did. He came out a little later.

"I HAVE NO REGRETS!!" Then came the screaming

"Now Luff...what have we learnt?"

"GO TO YOUR ROOM AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!"

*Later on you could hear a scream faintly heard from the top floor*
