it was nice, just sitting with pico. you two came to an open park with darnell and nene to watch a fireworks show. you were sitting between pico's legs, holding his laptop so both of you could watch it.

it was then that you'd noticed you hadn't been bothered in a bit. "hey.. where's darnell and nene?" you asked, just noticing that your two friends were gone. "darnell probably went to go set some shit on fire, and nene probably went to go record him. the usual." pico replied shortly, making you laugh a little.

"what if i wanted to go set shit on fire? or record him?" you asked jokingly. "well ya can't. you're stuck right here and you're not getting up." pico remarked decidedly, squeezing arms around you a bit tighter. you sucked your teeth as pico laughed.

"how much longer till the fireworks go off?" you asked, "they're supposed to go off at 10:00 and it's…" pico reached around you, swiping the notification bar down to look at the time. "9:55. so try to survive five minutes." he told you, giggling when you groaned dramatically. "oh my goood, i can't wait that long! i'm gonna die of impatience."

"sucks to suck." pico quipped, giggling when you slapped his leg indignantly. "can you pass me a sparkler so i can entertain myself?" you asked sweetly. pico reached back to the box of various fireworks and things, grabbing a sparkler from the open container. he grabbed a lighter with the same hand, handing both to you.

you lit the stick, holding it arm's length from you and pico as it began sparking. hell yeah. you just shook it around aimlessly, watching the little lines it made in the air. "it's a fucking magic wand, dude." you told pico, the mock-serious tone in your voice making him laugh a bit. "watch this!"

you pointed the sparkler down toward the grass, pico resting his chin on your shoulder to watch what you were doing. you slowly dragged the sparkles over the grass, the grass scorching into the heart shape you were drawing. all pico did was raise an eyebrow, jokingly asking, "really? killing nature just to tell me how much you love me?"

"oh my god, shut up!" you snorted, holding the sparkler out for pico to take when he held his hand out. he tossed it on the grass a bit in front of you, squishing the sparkles with his heel. "hey, what'd you do that fo-"

BOOM!

you and pico looked up to see a blue firework dissipate from the sky, both of you cheering along with everyone sitting around you as the show began. then your phone buzzed in your pocket.

you closed the laptop and set it to the side, lifting your hips a bit to pull your phone from your back pocket. you got a text from nene. 'make sure you watch it.' pico noticed it and was about to question, just as another firework went off.

and.. god, god damn it, you wish she was here. her and darnell because you knew damn well she didn't do it alone, you wanted to punch both of them. it was one of those word fireworks, but it said "picoxy/n4life"

you heard pico laugh a bit as he stared up at the light show, squeezing your waist a bit more. which was great, because as long as he wasn't upset by it you wouldn't be either. in fact, you smiled and kept watching the fireworks as pico pressed a kiss to your cheek.

it was one of those late nights again. one of those nights where pico woke up in a cold sweat, heavily panting as he searched for something to hold onto. something to reassure him that he was okay. but yet again, he couldn't find anything. his black sheets failed to comfort him, fully engulfing him instead. making him feel like he was drowning, gasping for air.

he had to go out for a walk. or no, even better yet-- for a smoke. just anything that would keep his mind off of the people that haunted his dreams. cassandra, the uberkids, you.

jesus, what was he doing? grouping you with such horrendous people like them. see, this was exactly why he needed to go outside. he couldn't think. actually, no, he didn't want to think.

the redhead let out a heavy sigh as he lifted himself out of his bed, leaving the sheets cold and empty as he shuffled around to find the light switch. the light flickered on and off a couple of times, before a dim light filled the room. “fuckin' finally.” pico muttered, searching under his cushion to find his trusty uzi again. he could not think to sleep without his gun by his side. if he didn't have his gun, what would he have to protect himself? what would he do to protect you? he would be basically dead without the damned piece of metal. which is probably why he rapidly turned around as he heard the door of his room creak open, instantly pointing his gun at the figure standing in the doorway. his hand was dangerously close to the trigger, his eyes full of anger and fear.

“pico? pico.. put the gun down.” your soft voice called out to him, making him tense up as he just stared at you. his s/o. what was he doing?

you walked up to him, and put a gentle hand on his shoulder as he continued to stare into the abyss, his eyes cloudy and confused. you put your free hand on his gun, slowly lowering it down, until your boyfriend eventually just dropped it, letting it clatter down on the wooden floor.

you softly kicked the gun aside, staring at your boyfriend's face with a look of worry. he seemed scared, his eyes slowly tearing up as he started distancing himself from you. “god-- babe, s/o, i'm sorry, i-” he tried to find out what he was supposed to say. or if he even was supposed to say anything in the first place. he seemed to be in an almost dreamy state of mind, not fully here. yet when you tried to hug him, he quickly and harshly released himself from your grasp.

“pico, pico please, just calm down-”

“no no, s/o you don't understand. i almost hurt you. i almost fucking shot you. don't just tell me to,, to calm down.” he ran a hand through his messy hair, deeply inhaling before he sharply turned around. he didn't know what was going on with him. normally he wouldn't react like this at such a simple mistake. he wouldn't freak out like this, he wouldn't worry you like this. but he was just too shaken up from his horrid nightmares, his mind full of self hatred and fear.

“listen, s/o, i love ya, i really do. but you shouldn't be around me.”

“pico, what are you on about?”

“i am going to end up hurting you.” you only furrowed your brows at your boyfriend's sudden change in tone. he sounded cold, empty. you were worried. “pico, just please shut up. it's gonna be fine. we're gonna be... fine. you won't hurt me, i promise.” you tried to formulate small, direct sentences that would hopefully reach the man infront of you. but alas, they didn't.

“i'm not good for you, trust me. just please leave me.” pico never thought he would say that. never thought he could say such a sentence to your face, a sentence that had been repeated over and over in his mind. he just didn't want you to go yet, even though his mind kept telling him that it would be a better solution.

“god, just,, just let me love you, you fucking idiot-” you sounded aggravated, almost desperate. and finally, pico didn't have a come back anymore. the tears that were previously in his eyes quickly rolled down his cheeks. the man let out a choked sob as he desperately tried to dry his tears. he was not gonna allow himself to cry infront of you, he wouldn't.

at first he'll definetly act like he doesn't care that much. he'll only make an offhanded comment about them at most. probably because he's afraid his masculinity will be `at risk` if he openly admits he likes them.

but once he sees you holding them? or get happy and comforted when you are with your stuffed animals?

this man will do a full 180 and will just melt.

he thinks you are the cutest thing he has ever laid his eyes on.

he will definetly protect both you and your stuffed animals. anyone who dares say anything bad towards you or the plushies faces the muzzle of his gun.

he will definetly give you some more tiny stuffed animals that remind him of you, so usually some that are overly cute.

he also adores just listening to you, so if you wanna talk about your stuffed animals? this man is all ears.

but he'll also quite literally beam with happiness, yet also with a hint of embarrassment, if you are the one to give him a fluffy companion.

it just proves to him that you love him as much as he loves you.

he'll just listen to you talk as he mindlessly strokes your hair.

— before pico even thinks about going to bed, he makes sure to have everything locked up

— he doesn't live in a super unsafe neighborhood, but he knows he's got some enemies

— and nene.

— so it's just one more thing he does to keep safe

— for some weird reason he doesn't take his clothes off until he's just about to get in bed???

— like, he'll take his shoes and jacket off when he comes inside but otherwise he's walking around in jeans and his shirts

— and the first time you stayed over, pico really tried to just waltz in and eat???

— like, no, you pushed him to his bathroom and made him wash his fucking hands

— weirdo.

— and if you're not there, he doesn't even make anything to eat unless he's really hungry

— and even then it's probably just a sandwich or something

— pico. doesn't take care of himself as well as he should, admittedly

— he may act annoyed and make some remarks when you sit down to eat together, regardless of if it's delivery or something you made, but he does appreciate it

— will give some extra kisses to show that

— and he sometimes always let's you drag him to the shower

— it does make him happy when you shower together, mostly because he loves your matching shower caps

— yours has the night sky and his has the day... he's soft...........

— pico either sleeps in just his boxers or in a full pajama set.

— no in between.

— and once he went

— "close your eyes real quick"

— with that stupid fucking smirk on his face

— and you did, you trust him

— shuffling, a... a long zipper?

— "open."

— "wh- oH MY GOD."

— and he showed you pictures of him, nene, and darnell

— nene has a monkey onesie and darnell has a unicorn

— "y'all are so fucking cute what-"

— "you want one?"

— "nah, y'all have your thing. we always have our matching birthday suits"

— pico would laugh and pull you on his lap, tossing his phone to the end of the bed and laying down with you

— soft!

— congratulations! you've made pico redder than his hair.

— no but fr, you do this on the daily and you get a really blushy pico, all the time

— he's very, very touch starved and craves it a lot, so the fact that he doesn't have to ask you or get pushed off when he initiates is fucking bonkers to him

— more likely to take advantage of this

— if he's not doing anything and you're busy with something that's not too important, pico will lure you away from whatever you're doing with affection

— sometimes comes behind you and nestles his nose in the crook of your neck. he'll occasionally kiss your neck as he watches you do whatever you're doing

— no no but lemme talk about when YOU initiate

— you better make sure you do it when he least expects it

— because pico can and will go all red in the face and push his nose into his collar just a little with a doofy smile

— give him kisses when he does things please and thank you!!!

— like he just got done with a job, comes home just a lil bit tired with his gun in his back pocket?

— a few pecks on the lips and a clean change of clothes, "great job baby, go shower."

— he successfully makes dinner without setting off the smoke detector? kiss him on his cheek as you take your food

— NO BUT HOLDING HANDS??? YEAH YEAH YEAH BIG YES

— pico fidgets with his hands a lot. he actually almost shot himself in the foot once when he was absentmindedly fiddling with it

— so if you're just sitting with him or laying with him, give him your hand

— he likes to separate and push your fingers together or count them under his breath

— if he's feeling extra soft, pico will kiss each one of your knuckles and rub his thumb on the back of your hand after

— and laying on him is a very big yes

— one of pico's favorite ways to cuddle is you laying on top of him with your head on his chest and his arms around you

— gives him prime opportunities to kiss your head

— never averse to picking you up. he's a strong boy and he likes to show off

— piggy back, bridal, potato sack, football, you on his hip or something. no matter which and where, pico loves to hold you

— no matter what, you will end up in his arms. that's both a threat and a promise.

— and he kinda feels spoiled sometimes

— not in a bad way!!!

— but in a "holy shit i'm lucky enough to have a s/o that gives me an endless supply of affection no matter what, SCORE" kinda way

— he appreciates you being you.

— keep giving him hugs and kisses and showing your love by touch, he deserves to be as happy as you make him

— like, naturally, not even seeking validation or praise for it

— if you're someone he cares about and he sees that he can do a lil something to make things easier or better for you, he will!

— small things at first, though

— grabbing things off shelves you're either too short or too lazy to get yourself

— you got groceries? "hey, nah, let me grab those for you."

— will put them away for you too!

— will also stick out his neck for you, juuust a little bit

— can't cook a real meal to save his life but will definitely try

— ends up in an emotional argument with the smoke detector and you end up just having pizza bagels

— on dates he'll be the type to almost trip you when stopping to tie your shoe

— which coincidentally brings us to his next love language, quality time!

— pico, while a huge hardass, is a romantic at heart

— so every date he brings you on will be heartfelt, no matter if it's some giant restaurant dinner or just a walk in the park

— pico just really appreciates moments with the people he loves, so always expect him to come up behind you and just. love at you while you're doing something

— he cares you, but he knows you're busy, so he'll just be slightly out of your way and hope you feel his lovey dovey vibes

— if you guys both had eventful days, he'll let you talk first every time

— and just lean his head on his hand and watch you and nod along and hype you up with hearts in his eyes

— he... loves!!!

— also? physical touch isn't necessarily his love language but it's always a bonus for his touch starved ass

— okay let's be real, pico has a lot going on.

— it's kinda obvious, but he won't outright tell you himself unless he trusts you

— and that's what he needs, someone he can trust

— pico has a lot of friends, but he truthfully wouldn't trust them with his personal business as far as he could throw them

— nene and darnell are there, but darnell would worry too much and nene tends to talk too much

— cherry and cam to some degree, but cherry and her parents are too wary of pico to let him get that close to cam again

— so all pico has is you

— and honestly? as long as you won't go around telling everyone pico's business and talking about his shit behind his back?

— he's happy to just have you

— plus, if you stick with him through the rough times?

— if you'll be there to give him your phone, let him pull up the camera to see if his hallucinations are really there?

— if you'll let him be angry and destructive if he needs to be and hold him when he calms down?

— if you don't treat him like he's unstable, dangerous, some kind of threat?

— pico will cherish you.

— you're all he needs and more

— and another big thing is someone honest

— like, pico may be an 'act first, think later' kinda guy, but if you're willing to talk things out he'll get himself in the right headspace to sit with you in most cases

— and you're one of the only people he'd even consider that for

— sometimes, yeah, he does lose his temper

— and sometimes that anger and frustration might come out on you

— but pico will back off if you tell him to

— that's something he wants you to do

— enforcing those boundaries so he knows what you want, what you're comfortable with

— so he knows what he's doing wrong and right and not worry himself sick wondering how he's messing up

— and you don't have to be all of those things!

— pigs would sprout wings fly before pico would find his absolute perfect match

Pico Celebrating Halloween w/ His S/O

- It wouldn't just be you two alone

- Somehow, Pump and Skid always find you two

- You end up taking the boys trick-or-treating, which seems to calm him down at least

- "How do they always find us?" "I don't know, but I don't really mind." "Miss Y/N?" "Hm?" "He asked how we were always able to find you right?" "Yes, he did." "The lemon headed man tells us." "Excuse me, what did you just say?"

- He didn't really want to dress up for Halloween, but if it's for a Halloween party, he feels like he has to

- Seems bored at Halloween parties in general if Nene and Darnell aren't there

- He hates that around this time of year Monster seems to pop out to bother you two

- Pico had heard that he usually bothered BF and GF so he doesn't understand why he always does it during Halloween

- "Babe, he's watching again." "What is that guys problem? I swear if he gets into shooting range..." "It's ok, he doesn't seem to want to hurt us." "Yeah, not yet." "Pico don't try to scare me."

- After a night of trick-or-treating with the little guys, he's trying to steal your candy and is usually watching a horror movie

- "How do you always find the best horror movies Pico?" "I had these saved for today, I didn't think you'd want to watch them with me earlier." "I would've watched them with you at any time."

- Would be just as happy to spend the day inside with the lights off with you cuddling up to him as he would be outside

- Doesn't really want to hand out candy either
