Water We Doing || Mondo & Kyera || Pool
I laugh and am relieved when he seems to be much friendlier and conversational now. “I feel like camouflage could be an art,” I respond. “I haven’t tried it yet but I’m kinda itching to check it out.” We keep swimming around the pool for a bit. To the naked eye, Mondo could even appear as a trainer teaching me rather than a tribute.
I bite my lip but smile when he tells me that I need not apologize. I just wouldn’t like to overstep any lines. “Okay, okay, she’s very intimidating, and even though I’m a bit scared of her, I don’t really like her either.” I wrinkle my nose a bit at the thought of her. “She’s a rude one,” I say in an almost childlike tone. “Sorry!” I exclaim, immediately turning to him. “Please don’t tell her I said that,” I frown, shrinking away from Mondo.
I hesitate a bit at his suggestion before I nod. Reluctantly releasing my grip from the board, I try my best to stay afloat but I keep my arms stretched out. Once I feel like I have a decent stability in the water, I start kicking, Mondo staying right beside me. “Hey!” I exclaim with a smile. I glance over at him cheerfully and continue kicking.
I can't help but chuckle again as she talks about Dotev. She can be a lot to take in at first, and in all honesty I didn't like her much when we first started talking. She grew on me, even though it took a lot of alcohol and our full train ride. "Don't worry, your secret's safe with me," I assure her. "Dotev strikes me as a "blames-the-messenger" type and I sure as hell don't want her mad at me."
There's an uneasy feeling as she eases off of the board, and I nearly grabbed her again. But my fear is put to rest as she starts to move along, however slightly it is. "Look at you, there it is!" I assure her, drifting along at her side. "Try with your arms now, like this," I say, showing her how to include her arms to go faster.
I don't want her to get nervous again. "So, you like art?" I ask, recalling that she lit up a bit when she mentioned the paints at the camo station. "Do you draw or something?"
