Whilst photographing the market, I was amazed by all the colours that cropped up throughout each stall. I shot a range of portait and landscape shots as well as different angles and depths. I enjoyed photographing close up, as it gave a nice sense of detail of some products as well as sgowing what else the stall is selling. However, I feel as though I could have made my images more interesting by including people within my shots, rather than just stalls. I could have photographed people who came to the market as well as the products themselves.
Stall (image on left)
I chose to photograph the stock because it gives the viewers an insight into what is being sold within the market. It enhances a clear sense of a stereotypical market due to lots of stock and it being rather messy. I chose to edit it using presets in order for all my images to have a clear theme running throughout them, additionally, it adds a nice amount of contrast into the image. However, I would have been a ice idea to get a few shots of the whole stall istelf rather than just a snipit of whats inside. Additionally, going closer up to the image and focusing in on one item to add depth and interest.
(Product image on left)
This image, I have focused onto one object being sold in the market. The background is blurred which gives a nice focus onton the beads. However, the way I have edited the image, some details are slightly being lost in the brighter sections of the image. Therefore, loosing detail. Furthermore, it is hard for the product to stand out against the busy background as there are a lot of colours, shadows and details within the background. Asa result we loose the focus into the whole shot. The orange clips however, stand out vivdly and allow attention to be drawn to the foreground.
British Markets - Molly Stevenson
Molly Stevenson is a photographer who loves working with people and she found markets to be the perfect place to socialise but also take photographs. She took all photos for this project on digital as most of the markets she attended, she could only go once, and therefore needed to get all the content in one go. She spoke with vendors and told them about her, whilst also asking about them. From this, she was able to create meaningful and relaxed portraits of vendors without feeling awkward.
It was inspiring for me to see what elements of a market she had chosen to focus on and allowed myself to gain some inpiration from her. Her work consists of a range of different elements within a market. From close ups of the products, stalls and the whole market itself.
For my next shoot, I am going to aim to take a range of different shots throughout the market and see what products people have to offer. I will be shooting on my Canon 2000D using a 15mm-80mm lens. I will be wokring with natural lighting and hopefully it is not raining. I want my images to reflect a clear sense of a market and have a conrast within the shots so all the elements and details stand out.

Inspiration for my Market Photoshoot.
Debbie and Eliza
I love the way this has been shot, because it is in an unusal position as she is crouching on top of her bedroom cabinate. It adds an unusual but exciting element to the shot. Additionally, the posters on the wall represent her personality ever so slightly. However, as they are reandomly dotted around her, it enhances she hasnt given it much thought but it does look really effective in the background. The lighting allows her natural beauty to blossom, as her freckles are evidently and the curls in her hair stand out vivdly.
Rosie Foster aims to allow her models to embrace who they really are. She wants them to feel like she is a friend in order to reflect their true selves. As a result of doing this, it allows her images to be truthful and relaxed, as the models cleary are too. Furthermore, she is able to be creative and work with them as she has createed a friendly and trustworthy bond.
Rosie Foster - Beauty of Personal Spaces.
She has not given any sort of description or title to her image apart from their names. I have searched on multiple websites and found very little about induvidual images from this project, other than their names given on her website.

A Project I really Loved
Rosie Foster ‘Beauty of Personal Spaces’
Rosie Foster is a London based photographer who began this project because she enjoyed photographing an honest representation of women who had a creative style and a strong sense of personality. She shoots all her portraits on film, mainly using a Mamiya 645AF. She finds her models online and works extremely closely with them in order to create a safe and comfortable environment for shooting. The reason she chose to work with women for this project, is because there is so many stereotypes and expectations surrounding women and it is imprtant for people to see who women really are and how different everyone can be. Working in someones personal environment can give a real sense of that person and their personality. Also, it can be very private and a personal space designed for only that person. So as a result, it is really interesting to see how people express themselves to represent who they are. We are able to get an idea of that person through the way they have designed their homes.
The Beauty of Personal Spaces consists of Women in their late teens and early twenties in a safe spaces within their homes. She wanted her models to wear no makeup in order to enhance their natural beauty. Additionally, as she was shooting in their homes she requested they didn’t tidy up in order to reflect a honest representation of who they are. This will also allow the viewers to understand the type of person they are, as we can see the way they choose to design their personal spaces. Rosie Foster found that there was so much beauty within peoples personal spaces. It is interesting because these spaces hold many memories and safe spaces for everyone and we all express a sense of home differently.
I was drawn to her work due to the style in which she shot this project. I found it really fascinating seeing the way people designed their homes in correspondence with the way they looked. I also enjoyed the film element to each image, as it made the colours pop but also added depth and contrast to the images as well. As a result of shooting on film, it works with the project well because the shots were minimal and therefore had to get the perfect shot in a few takes. I like this idea because it shows the great planning Foster has gone into to create fascinating shots.

I found it interesting but also entertaining what people would choose to take into the next world with them.
This Image was portrayed in the Brighton Museum. I was drawn to the photo due to the pale colours and the writing surrounding the woman. Nader Davoodi, created this image to document contemporary Iranian history. The way the writing has disappeared around the edges reinforces ideas surrounding the culture and older religious beliefs that they follow. I found it interesting that the photographer chose to go against beliefs and stereotypes in order to portray meaning.
