"Someone asked for a witch?" "Yes, but aren't you a man? How can you be a witch?" "First things first, I'm not a man, and second, being a witch has nothing to do with your gender. Now what is your problem?"
“You cannot buy the revolution. You cannot make the revolution. You can only be the revolution. It is in your spirit, or it is nowhere.”
- Ursula K. Le Guin “The Dispossessed”
No puedes comprar la revolución. No puedes hacer la revolución. Solo puedes ser la revolución. Está en tu espíritu, o no está en ninguna parte.

Exploring Colombian Brujeria: From Traditional Shamans to Modern Spells
Brujeria, or witchcraft, has a long and complex history in Colombia. From traditional healers and shamans to practitioners of dark magic, brujeria has played a significant role in Colombian culture and society. Colombia, with its rich indigenous traditions, has a deep-rooted connection to spirituality and the supernatural. Many Colombians still seek out the services of brujos and brujas (witches) for healing, guidance, and protection. These traditional healers often use herbs, rituals, and spells to help their clients navigate through life’s challenges. However, there is also a darker side to brujeria in Colombia. Some practitioners use their powers for malicious purposes, such as casting spells to harm others or gain wealth and power. These dark witches, known as brujos negros, are feared and often shunned by society. In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in brujeria in Colombia, fuelled in part by the popularity of shows and movies featuring witches and magic. Modern practitioners of brujeria have adapted traditional practices to suit contemporary lifestyles, offering services such as love spells, prosperity rituals, and protection charms. Despite the ongoing stigma surrounding brujeria, many Colombians continue to seek out the services of witches and healers for guidance and support. Whether seeking a solution to a problem or simply looking for spiritual guidance, brujeria remains an important part of Colombian culture and heritage. In conclusion, brujeria in Colombia is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that reflects the country’s rich spiritual traditions and cultural diversity. Whether practised for healing, harm, or simply out of curiosity, witchcraft continues to play a significant role in Colombian society. As long as there are people seeking answers and solutions to life’s challenges, brujeria will continue to thrive in Colombia. Read the full article

Imagine: Being a witch soldier at Motherland: Fort Salem and ending up at the same coven as the Bellweather unit
“You look like hell”
“You don’t look too good either, Collar”
“I’m so tired”
“Well guess what? So is everyone else so suck it up and move on”
“What the hell happened to you?”
“I… fell off the stairs?”
“Now what?”
“Now we kick ass”
Hello, I literally made an account so that i can ask this
I'm trying to get more in touch with my heritage through magic, i have been practicing for a few years, knowing that my grandmother practiced(rip, love you sm). Do you have any resources for some brujeria? Thank you so much!
The thing with brujeria is it's folk magic
Folk aka people so it's highly regional. Mexican brujeria isn't exactly the same as Puerto Rican brujeria but there is overlap bc we are both colonized by the Spanish.
Unless you have a family member teaching you, you wouldn't know "traditional" brujeria. But there's a few authors I've seen recently who are brujas and practice.
Gabriella Herstik(sp) has a few books and I own like two of them
Looking into traditional herbs from your ancestry and religion would also be a good place to start
I haven't been on this site in ages so IDK if any of the blogs I follow are still active 😅

What is brujería? How does it differ from witchcraft practices in the US? Here, Dream Witchery author Elhoim Leafar discusses brujería and p

Even the witchcraft/folk magic books with Christian bases says do not use magic until after you’ve used science. If the doctor can’t fix you, then you ask spirit. Spirit won’t fix you when the resources are at your disposal.

borealis masterlist-
summary: Dawson is a contracted thief working a risky job procuring what he is told is a powerful weapon from a shady research lab. Juno is said powerful weapon- a victim of prolonged experimentation and testing, now deemed ready for sale to the highest bidder. The job goes horribly wrong, Dawson is nearly caught, and now has both the research lab and his sketchy employers after him, with Juno as his very unwilling and very demanding tagalong.

Travel Comic: The Traveling Witch’s Handbook
-Things you need for a fabulous life on the road.
I never posted this comic I did for my zine collaboration with Wendy Xu (@angrygirlcomics) and Stevie Wilson (@sw_inku)–it is part of a zine we made called ‘Modern Magic,’ exploring fashion as a form of magic that transforms & empowers individuals. Modern Magic has been to MoCCa 2014 & Philly Feminist Zine Fest, and coming to Locust Moon Festival in October, aaand possibly SPX which is very soon!
Travel Witch Supplies
Germany or South Africa, Mexico or Japan - Witches are everywhere in the world. And especially with holiday season coming up in the Northern hemisphere, many of us also like to travel everywhere in the world as well! However, practicing witchcraft on the road can be difficult and taking all the supplies you might need is hard. Anyways, what does one really need to practice witchcraft?
First of all, you need yourself. All the tools in the world won‘t do anything without a witch to handle them. The power is in the witch, not in the objects. So in theory, you could also practice completely without tools.
However, I always like to have something that helps me represent and manifest my intent, so this is what I take with me when I travel:
Things I use daily:
My phone (to do research, use Tumblr and connect with my fellow witches)
My grimoire
Tarot cards
Spell/Ritual supplies:
A white candle: White candles can substitute any coloured candle.
Rosemary: Rosemary can substitute any herb.
A small bottle of moon water (Honestly, I cleaned out a shot bottle and filled it with moon water. No shame.)
Things specifically for travelling:
A protective amulet
Crystals that can be of help when travelling like black tourmaline for protection, rhodonite for emotional balance and prevention of arguments when travelling with somebody else, cerussite against homesickness and malachite as a great guardian for travellers.
Lavender essential oil to calm me down before flights because frankly, I am just slightly terrified of being 50,000 feet above the ground. However, I try not to fly too much because it is really bad for the environment.
This is about it. If anybody has some other ideas or recommendations, let me know. Happy travels, everyone!
