City Methodist Church (aka the most photographed building in Gary Indiana,) and I’m fairly certain the other shot is of a popular Gary abandonment as well (though I wasn’t sure at first; vacant schools tend to look alike.)

“This beautifully stark composition without dialogue reveals the crumbling detritus of a departed civilization — shopping malls, train stations, churches, homes, monuments, and more — as nature engages in the process of reclaiming its own.” It’s playing at the Gene Siskel Film Center this Friday and next Tuesday, if you’re interested. I’ll probably be at one of the screenings.
