ok but think about how many more college tuitions could be paid off with the amount of money spent by Coca Cola, Apple, Geico, Sony, Toyota, Disney, Verizon, L'Oreal, AT&T, Dove etc on advertisement, and realise that singling out minion advertisement simply because it is an Internet trend to hate minions is pretty silly. I love her but if you’re going to address the exorbitant amounts of money put into marketing today, address all of it. Don’t just call out the parts that are trendy to call out.

I actually did the math and the amount advertisers and marketers spend per year in America ($160 billion) would pay for about 16 million students to go to an in-state school. Now, that isn’t /every/ student (there are around 20 million college students in the US), and in-state tuition isn’t exorbitant (about $10,000 per year). But, yeah, we could make college free for most current students with the amount of money we spend to affect consumer behavior in the US and that is pretty weird.

You know skinny jeans are gonna go out of style eventually but we’re gonna keep wearing them. They’re gonna become mum jeans. Parent style. People are gonna be like “oh my god dad your jeans are so tight it’s so embarrassing please put something else on” and you’re gonna be like “oh yes because those flappy impractical things are so much better” and you will feel superior but really you will be Uncool. You will be Uncool and you won’t see it, just like your parents. This is your fate.
