Ok so hear me out. Amalgam but Deltarune.
I used to get so worked about about the lab. The mixed up monsters in there really set off something in me.
So, I am now coming up with the: AmalgamAU!
I might make a comic about it, but for now here is the quick run down.
Tenna still hurts after having his arms cut off and repaired kind of shodily. (He is grateful but sore!) He looks for a way to be fixed permanently.
Spamton is looking for a way to be big and to get free from the strings that tie him down.
Luckily for both of them a friend someone knows just how to solve both of their problems. They explain how they can both be fixed no strings attached! The world would love them again and everyone will envy just how popular and strong they would become.
So they go to the lab. After some arguing and reunions, Tenna and Spamton make up. They decide to face the future head on together this time since Tenna survived and knows about Spamton's little friend.
Together they discover other monsters who share : DETERMINATION
They agree and go through the process and feel great. Powerful, fixed up, and new.
It goes downhill quickly. Everyone devolves. And Spamton and Tenna try to keep everyone calm up until the end where they can no longer speak.
The design is as if Spamton was sitting on the shoulder of his old co-host. Tenna's newly repaired arm falls off but luckily Spampton's strings holds everything together. Tenna holds onto Spamton as long as he can and his other arm is fused holding him on his shoulder. Spamton was telling a story trying to cheer Tenna up when they fully fused. Now they throw out pop-up ads and fancy designed words randomly at anything they find moving. Faint static can be heard when near them. Funnily enough, neither half is particularly worried about splitting or getting away from the other.
