None of Elvis’ songs are original. All that Elvis did was speed up the tempo and use his singing voice, then call it a day. Yes, he credited the original creators, but he never actually gave them any sort of spotlight.

First Avenue was originally a Greyhound bus station, opening in 1937.

I just mean Sanrio stuff in general, the merch is HUGE with this stuff and I see everyone have it but I feel like I’m missing out on something, are all these people with this merch a fan a show they’re from or something or know the lore behind them?

There's plenty of media about Sanrio characters, such as shows and games, but these are all made to promote the merchandise, typically after the characters have already been around. Some Sanrio franchises are more media-focused than others though, such as Show By Rock!!, which centered around a mobile game. The majority of characters though, like Hello Kitty, My Melody, etc, are merchandise first and foremost.

Orchid mantises are featured in the popular video game Animal Crossing as well! In Animal Crossing, the character Blathers has a funny aversion to insects, including the orchid mantis.
