“I never really though about it like that. I mean, not that I’m an expert in what “functioning society” was like.” He shrugged, the paused, “Although, you once said something about starving kids in Africa to which Elle responded to with something about dead mutants everywhere… she’s got attitude sometimes.”

“I wonder who she gets that from,” she muttered. “Well, her comment’s not too far off in this world either. Unfortunately,” she admitted.

“Really?” He looked a little more hopeful, “I though... I mean, what with the functioning society and all, everyone would be more educated.”

"Well, yeah, it is a school. And none of us are familiar with ‘normal’. Any idea what you want to take?"

"I've got not idea. I've never been to school. None of us have. I don't want to look stupid because I don't know anything."

    ”It’s alright, I won’t hurt you,”he assured the shy boy. Charles put away a file and folded his hands on the desk. ”I take it that means your siblings and yourself are… gifted?”

"Yes sir." He nodded, he'd heard a lot about the Professor from his parents, but meeting him person was different.

"Ok. No one can blame you for any of these desires." She paused. "Is there anything I can do to help make this feel normal for you?"

"Probably not. I have a pretty screwed up concept of "normal"." He pointed out. "The Professor says we have to take classes while we're here."

He was silent for a moment, "I want to go home. I want to forget all of this ever happened. But I can't. So I'm going to try to be as normal as I can. Okay?"
