I just tought of it for the visual so I don't have a practical purpose, maybe trackers or sensors ? But it also has to justify putting him in a really vulnerable position so maybe a utilty outside of combat like taking/analyzing samples or repairing things ?

Just think about ray hating or running away from the other mightys and then there's mic who just gets close enough to make ray trust him,then slowly mic learns about ray and ray just randomly starts follow mic around,or be protective over him like if he can't knock off a whole truck,and eventually thanks to mic she starts to get along with her other siblings!! Just a cute pair of opposites

Gets annoyed very easily and sometimes mutes everything without thinking about it and spaces out, also part of why he doesn't get along super well with Bat.
