Thinking about why Ragn likes quest so much..
So we know he used to tag along a bunch of older kids right? And he'd do anything just to fit in and get their attention. I'm guessing at some point he realized it was really pathetic of him to do that, but since he was so desperate to belong, he did some mental reframing to cope. As in: all the errands and things they made him do, he referred to as a "quest" mentally, or had them refer to it as a quest to convince him to do it, just so it felt less like he was being used and more-so being sent off to do something meaningful.
If I may add some headcanon to it, perhaps his father also referred to slaying the troll with the rest of the people as a "quest" to soften the blowโemphasizing the act as heroic, all to distract from the fact that it was basically a suicide mission. That's also why Strength specifically is the one obsessed with quests and not any other chimes, mostly because Strength represents the hypermasculine drive to protect and defend, born from witnessing his father's sacrifice.
Season 2's grip on me was so severe that the day after finishing it I spent 8 hours reading the entirety of the manga.
