I revisited all the times Levi had to bid farewell and acknowledge the death of his loved ones (and that one time he sought a dead person’s company).

1) His mother, Kuchel Ackerman’s death (SnK Chapter 69)

2) His underground comrades’ death (Furlan Church, Isabel Magnolia) - SnK: Kuinaku Sentaku chapter 8)

3) Squad Levi’s death (Snk chapter 30)

4) His uncle, Kenny Ackerman’s death (SnK chapter 69)

5) His commander and close friend, Erwin Smith’s death (SnK chapter 84)

6)  His commander and close friend, Hange Zöe’s death (SnK chapter 132)

But what struck me, beside that “Shinzou wo Sasageyo” and “Later, Hange” lines, was this:

That was the first time Levi sought for a dead one’s companionship or guidance. That “Watch us from there” must have meant that he wished Hange was still with him, as she watches him and the alliance from the afterlife.
