Get to know PENELOPE “PENNY” PROUD who is often mistaken for DIAMONTE “SAWEETIE” HARPER. People say she reminds them of PENNY PROUD from THE PROUD FAMILY. 

in hindsight, ralph had every right to be confused. how else are you supposed to feel when you walk into your house to find an employee (even if that employee was penny, who considered herself more friend than hired help) dancing around their living room with your dog? so, all things considered penny gets why ralph stands in the doorway, perplexed expression clear on his face. but, because she’s penny she waves his confusion and concerns away. “vanellope and i were making a tik tok but she went to the store,” she smiles at him, waving stella’s paw at ralph in a ‘hello’. “so now i’m dancing with stella. come on, dance with us!” as if the sight of penny cradling the pug close to her chest while ‘don’t stop’ played wasn’t any real indication. “ayeeee don’t stop pop that cat,” she wiggles the dogs but to the beat of the song, trying her best to mimic the action of twerking. “just like that!” she dances over to ralph, still making stella twerk as she twerks too. “come on SHAKE THAT SHIT.  WORK IT BIIIIIITCH!” @rclphwrecksit

setting her blending brush down, penny looks over at rex curiously. she’d already seen him with the tiara on in the reflection of the mirror, but she wanted to look at him head on for this. “i know that’s right,” she smiles, even snapping her finger to accentuate her agreement with the sentiment. “but you look cute no matter what. let’s start there.” as always penny has to hype up her friends in any way possible, even if it’s something as minor as rex standing in her room with a plastic tiara on top of his head. @tyrannospillarex

penny looks up at riley, narrowing her eyes at her friend in playful warning. “first of all, who are you even talking to?” of course, riley was joking just as much as penny was -- if riley had come in with hostile energy things would be getting hectic. “second of all....i don’t know.” the lie would be a lot more convincing if she didn’t have a caramel chew in her mouth currently, and the empty box of candies peeking out of the top of her purse. “i think someone stole them, that’s crazy right?” @emotionalriley

penny smiles a bright, genuinely welcoming smile at rose’s words. ”i’m down,” she nods, enthusiasm outweighing anything else in the moment. one thing about penny is she never turns down an opportunity to hang out with people -- set in her thought that she could make friends with literally anyone. so why would rose be the exception? “i’ve got a couple of hours before my shift at the arcade, we can grab food and chill if you want.” @rosehuntsman

Hearing the familiar voice of Mel’s little sister, Benny’s eyes flash down to the phone where Teri was currently displayed, waving to grab his attention. The confusion he felt moments ago only increases at this new development, but he tries his best to hide it as he raises a hand of his own in a return wave. “Hey Teri?” he questions, looking between both girls for a moment as he tried to piece together what they meant. Though as the youngest Muse girl mentions himself and Mel it makes a bit more sense - things finally clicking right as Penny excuses herself and takes a small step away to yell at her friend through the screen. He’s thankful for that moment to gather his thoughts, to put together everything they were implying in this confrontation. So when Penny turns back and greets him again, calling him a homewrecker once more, all Benny can do is shake his head a little. He wants to declare that he’s not a homewrecker and that they’ve got everything a bit mixed up - but he knows better than to jump in now. Instead he just stays quiet, looking back down at the screen to wait for Teri to regreet him before he explains himself. @terithemuse​

“What?” Teri parrots back as Penny’s energy is suddenly focused on her, not quite sure how she managed to mess this up so quickly. “We’ll be right back!” she calls over the phone to Benny as they settle only a few feet away from him to argue. “What did I do wrong? I thought we were doing a kind of good cop, bad cop thing?” Shrugging, Teri’s lips curl up into a sweet smile, the one she’s perfected to keep anyone from staying mad at her for long. It should be no surprise that she isn’t good at coming at Benny with an intense energy. She’s always been non-confrontational, preferring to stand behind Penny and support her whenever there was a fight, but the least she can do is try. “Okay, I’ll do better this time.” Despite her promise, she still lets a giggle slip from her lips as she once again addresses him as a homewrecker. Looking between Penny’s serious, expectant expression and Benny’s clearly baffled one, she takes a moment to get into character. “Hello Benjamin,” she says in the most serious voice she can manage, fixing him with a hard stare. It’s still likely not the energy that Penny wants her to be coming with, but it’s as good as she can do in the moment. “What do you have to say for yourself?” // @mizzprouds​

“no we’re not doing a good cop, bad cop thing!” penny sighs, shaking her head in disappointment. for starters, why would they be doing good cop, bad cop when the whole point was to shake some answers out of benny because mel and hans wouldn’t fill them in. penny doesn’t necessarily think being nice is the route to go. but even if she wants to keep giving teri a hard time, she can’t, caving the second she sees her sweet smile. they’d been friends for far too long for penny to not notice what she’s doing, especially considering that penny is a master of doing it herself -- but game recognizes game and she’s got no choice but to stand down. “okay, i believe in you.” penny smiles, still annoyed but more than willing to support her. and it seems to be worth it when teri pushes forward, not matching penny’s energy at all but making some kind of progress. “yeah, hit us with the excuses and the lies Benjamin.” she just knows spacecamp’s got some bullshit to try to defend themself and penny can’t wait to hear it all. @bennyshippe​

looking out the front window of penny’s car, something far bigger than the little peddling pink he’s so used to getting around on, luka hesitantly places his hands on the steering wheeling and glances back over at the girl beside him. the entire time his foot stays firmly on the brakes, too afraid to remove it even though he logically knows the car is currently set in park. “are you sure about this?” he asks, certainly not feeling confident that this was going to work. @mizzprouds​

penny sits in the passenger seat of her car, practically bouncing with excitement as she watches luka. she’d been saying for months that she’d teach luka to drive, claiming that she wanted more for him than getting around on a bike with a basket. it’s not that she thought luka needed to learn to drive necessarily, it’s just the bike seemed so inconvenient. he was a business owner now, he needed to push a big boy ride and that couldn't happen without a license. luka, however, didn’t seem as thrilled as she was by the concept. “of course!”  penny smiles, not seeing what he was so hesitant about. “driving is easy! and look, there’s no one here so you’re totally fine if you fuck up and crash. no one’s gonna get hurt.”

Not kidding that there were better places to start an improvisational act, and more so when this included some dance steps and also singing. Better yet, look for a place that at least has a roof or a place to shelter from the wind that only ruffles the hair at the least inopportune moments. Adrien just let out a sigh, dropping the hand that held the improvisation sheets with all the dialogues of the character and the movements that had to be performed according to what was prepared for the performance that at some point in the school year would premiere. Would not be admitted, but the french guy was a bit nervous with the idea of ​​just imagining the hypothetical scenario of how to go out in front of so many people with the spotlights focused on him. All blaming it on a non-existent stage fright, should he talk about it with someone? “C'mon, you just need a break.” Talking to himself was another habbit, not bad but some people seems to not like it. Who cares about their oppinions. The artist’s eyes traveled to meet those of another person who had apparently been there watching him, him and the act. Instead of seeing it as something sinister or weird, Adrien only offered a somewhat shy smile to offer a friendly gesture. “Bonjour, personne au hasard.” Not been aware that the French had been re-mixed with the English, the young man approached the person with determination although never with a threatening or annoying appearance. Was a known face or a new individual? Not like he would mind, an unbiased opinion was what was necessary. “You saw the act. What was your oppinion? Was it purrfect or Catastrophic?” Little smirk, a little cat pun was never bad. Eyes shining with excitement. “How was it?”

penny sits in the seats of the crowd of the amphitheater, feet perched atop the top of the seats in front of her. the venue was a place penny had become familiar with over the years, joining her uncle bobby here whenever he felt like reminiscing on the time he’d performed a concert here in his prime. as a child she’d always found his retelling of the same story a little annoying, not seeing why they had to relive his glory days every few months. but after performing here with the muses not too long ago penny finally sees the appeal. though she’s nowhere near as nostalgic as her uncle -- and she’s determined to pack this audience again sometime soon. but she’s here, surprisingly early for her meet up with her uncle. as she waits, she takes note of adrien’s performance on the stage in front of her, caught somewhere between wanting to watch out of curiosity and wanting to ignore him in an effort to not be in his business. but, he catches her regardless, and she can’t necessarily fault him for coming over to her. “huh?” penny asks, confusion clear on her face as the french falls from his lips so easily. she has no issue with him slipping into his native tongue, fully understanding that it happens -- she’s just confused, though that’s hardly anything. “bonjour is all i caught, i’m sorry.” she offers him an apologetic smile. “but hey.” as adrien asks for her opinion, penny smiles, hardly even batting an eye at his cat puns because she’s certainly hear words puns -- she works with hoagie after all. “it was good. don’t know if i’d say perfect, but good.” she nods. “whatcha’ working on?”

with lucy gone and kitty off on the other side of the ballroom with some other friends, benny hadn’t expected anyone to approach him at the table he and his friends had claimed as their own when they first arrived. and he certainly hadn’t expected anyone to approach him with a greeting as harsh as that. “nothing?” he questions, unsure what he’s really supposed to say. it shouldn’t be so confusing - he knows penny is close with all the muses and after the whole mel situation it would only make sense that she’d be talking about that - but as the the accusation is thrown at him, all benny can do is wonder what the hell was going on. “what - what do you mean i’m a homewrecker?” @terithemuse​

“Clio says they might not be there so maybe they’re not,” Teri shrugs, glancing over at her sister (who has long ago lost interest in this conversation) for confirmation. “Ooooh yeah let’s do it!” she nods eagerly, knowing in the back of her mind that her sister would have a lot to say if she ever found out about this. But what Mel will never know won’t hurt her. She’s never even been the confrontational type, her position in their friendship to stand back and nod as Penny does the confronting, but after weeks of bouncing theories back and forth she’s ready for some answers. Letting out a high pitched squeal of surprise as Penny approaches him with no holds bared, it’s no surprise to see the shock reflected on Benny’s face. “Hi Benny!” Teri calls from the phone to bring their attention to her presence too, waving to her sister’s friend from the screen. She’s not all that good at this, her own energy not quite matching her best friend’s. “You know, you and Mel…” she trails off, eyes wide as though it’s obvious, staring intently at her phone screen to get a good read on him. They don’t know for sure what actually happened between them — and her love and admiration for her sister has her rooting for Mel — but she hopes to get confirmation one way or another. When no one tells them anything they just have to do the detective work themselves. @mizzprouds​

the audacity. penny can’t believe benny has the nerve to sit there and pretend he has no idea what she’s talking about. she’s about to call benny out on playing dumb with her when teri greets him, excitement and joy still clear in her voice. “what?” penny looks at the phone screen, eyes narrowed at teri before she looks back up at benny. “give us one second please.” and without waiting for a response she steps away from benny and the table. it’s not far enough for benny to not overhear, but he should honestly stay out of black women’s business on this one. “teri! you’re not supposed to be all happy when you talk to him. you’re supposed to have my back!” to be fair, penny knows in hindsight that teri is far too much of an angel to ever be good at confronting anyone. penny had always been the one who could bring the hostile energy if need be. but considering this involved mel’s confusing ass love life, she thought teri would at least try. “we’re gonna try this again.” penny declares, turning on her heels and marching back over to benny. “’sup homewrecker.” she repeats, giving a pointed look at teri through the phone to make sure she gets it right this time. @bennyshippe​

@mizzprouds using the excuse of needing some air Marinette waved away their concern. Once she felt she was out of their sight she dashed through the nearest doorway.

penny had taken a much needed break from the ball, wholly underwhelmed by the party in itself. so she’d ended up wandering around the castle for some fun, easily getting past the somewhat lax security. she notices a woman rushing through a doorway, and penny can’t resist the opportunity to make a new friend. “hey!” she smiles, offering the girl a wave. “you doin’ alright? everything ok?”
