Kyle knows something is wrong. Not just because Stan just climbed through his window with a nasty bruise on his cheek and a bloody nose, but because he won’t tell him why.

AKA, late night conversations and confessions

“This is gonna sting,” Kyle says, holding the cotton ball just above the other’s brow, hovering. Stan makes a noise that barely counts as words, but it’s enough of an answer for Kyle to continue. He presses the cotton ball to the open wound, trying to keep the pressure light. Still, he can see Stan wince, pulling away from him slightly. “Stop shifting around or its gonna take longer.”

“Sorry,” Stan looks up at him with a surprising sincerity that instantly makes Kyle feel like an asshole. This isn’t the first time he’s cleaned Stan up. The two have stuck band-aids on each other and even gone to the emergency room together for as long as they’ve been friends. They have their cadence; Kyle barks at Stan for doing whatever stupid thing that got him hurt, and Stan rolls his eyes and tells Kyle he doesn’t need another mom. But this isn’t like the times before, everything feels off. Stan isn’t meeting his eyes, just picking at the cuts on his knuckles. Kyle doesn’t often find himself at a loss for words with Stan, but every time he tries to talk, his mouth just feels dry.

He takes in the other’s state, watching Stan’s slumped posture as he sits on Kyle’s bed. When he gets close, he gets the faintest whiff of beer from Stan’s breath, but he doesn’t seem drunk, just exhausted. Kyle sits at his desk chair which has been pushed to the bed, giving him some height over the other.

“Is it bad?” Stan asks, breaking the silence.

Kyle pulls the cotton ball away, having cleaned most of the blood off. It’s not deep, but it did split the skin on his eyebrow. He pulls away, looking over Stan’s face, taking in the bruise beginning to blossom on his cheek and the dry blood beneath his nose. “Could be worse, I guess.”

“Let me stay here tonight.”

Present-day Deku is doing everything he can to convince baby Izuku to jump to him, but baby Izuku doesn’t believe that’s him from the future. He doesn’t have a quirk! It’s suspicious, so that guy must be a villain.

But then present-day Katsuki gives it a try. He calls baby Izuku a nerd. He shows him that he remembers their old secret handshake. Baby Izuku’s eyes widen, and he knows that this amazing hero is undoubtedly his Kacchan.

Before I start, this theory is my own sort of take based on Pikahlua’s possesion theory so credits to them

(also this is just me theorising, i’m not saying this will happen indefinitely)

Okay, now on to the theory

So after Ch359 and after ShigAFO said that he’s only interested in Katsuki because he is the closest person to Izuku - it feels like the chances of Katsuki being possessed are at an all-time high.

If you’re wondering why Katsuki being possessed is relevant, here’s two reasons why:

1. AFO can’t take OFA or possess Izuku

OFA has 2 rules that prevent AFO from stealing OFA:

OFA can only be obtained if the current wielder willfully gives it away, it can’t be stolen or copied

Unlike other quirks, OFA has combined living consciousness from the previous users. Even though Shiggy was able to pierce through the OFA vestige realm and override the rule, the combined will of OFA’s predecessors was enough to block him - preventing AFO from stealing Izuku’s quirk.

2. AFO figured out Izuku’s weakness in ch286

After ShigAFO stabbed Katsuki in ch285, Izuku went beserk.

He went on a rampage that nobody has ever seen before - In fact, he was so enraged that for the second time in the series, he unlocked a quirk all because he couldn’t control his heart. All because they hurt Katsuki. Before Katsuki was stabbed all of Izuku’s attacks were calculated, but after the incident he lost complete control - attacking without thought, only pure rage.

Following that we see a panel (a very creepy one) of AFO smiling. I think it was at this moment that AFO realised Izuku’s weak point - what makes him lose all rational thinking. And for someone like AFO who is explicitly stated to be a master mind with multiple plans there is absolutely no way he would not take Izuku’s reaction into consideration and use it against him in the future.

Which is exactly why I think that AFO will use Katsuki as a bargaining chip for Izuku in exchange for OFA because he can’t take it from Izuku directly (as if bkg would let him), knowing fully well that Izuku acts irrationally when the people he loves are hurt (especially Katsuki).

One thing I never understood was “How will AFO take one for all if the rules within OFA are built to reject him?” Which leads me to my next point on why he would possess Katsuki:

AFO will use Izuku’s love for Katsuki against him to break the rules of OFA

Like I said earlier, OFA has two rules that prevent AFO from being able to steal it or possess Izuku. However, the only 2 people who can currently override the rules is Shigaraki and the current ofa wielder. AFO has groomed Shigraki since childhood, yet Shigrakis hatred for heroes still wasnt enough to overpower the wills of one for all’s predecessors. So now the only option left is Izuku.

I think AFO is purposefully trying to anger Izuku - enough to rival shigarakis hatred and overpower the wills of one for all’s predecessors - to break OFA’s rules and pierce the veil between the AFO and OFA vestige realms, allowing AFO to just waltz in without resistance and steal the quirk. This would also go hand-hand with why the vestiges keep telling Izuku to control his heart - because they know Izuku’s rage is a threat to One for All.

Katsuki’s possible ‘major role’

Horikoshi did say that this arc will have Katsuki’s greatest moment and he will play a huge role, but as of currently it seems to be going in the completely opposite direction for him. He still hasn’t gotten justice for Kamino and In ch359, Katsuki himself notes that he used he gave his absolute best, and yet he barely dealt any physical damage to shigAFO. And honestly, I don’t think Katsuki will be able to fight them, they are just too strong.

We’ve seen time and time again through Endeavour that any physical assault on ShigAFO is only a slight disruption before they rapidly regenerate again (mostly shiggy). We’ve also seen through Stars and Stripes that even though her attack in the AFO vestige world gave the heroes the upper-hand, it still wasnt enough to kill AFO.

So how will the heroes beat shigAFO?

By winning to save and saving to win. By attacking the main body physically and AFO’s vestige world simultaneously. Deku attacks the main body, and Katsuki rips AFO apart from the inside.

Before I continue, I need to give background information on how i think this will happen. In ch 355 Horikoshi exposes a weakness to AFO that I dont see many people talk about:

AFO’s weakness: the power of will

Jiro talks about not giving a damn if shes an extra, that she will fight her hardest regardless. AFO notes that spirit, motivation and ability is useless and has no impact on the strong…

But then we see this.

We find out that SNS attack has also exposed a weakness - it has awakened the consciousness of all the people that AFO has taken quirks from and they’re spurred on to fight by Jiro’s speech….

And they rebel against AFO, limiting his control and abilities. Limiting his defence - even if only for a little bit.

But again, its important to note that AFO and OFA realms are connected through will, which is derived from consciousness. Furthermore, a common factor between the heroes, shigaraki and the vestiges is WILL.

The will to fight (vestiges),

The will to destroy (Shigaraki),

The will to save (deku)

And lastly…

The will to win (Bakugou)

Regradless of ones intent, it is possible that anyone who has extreme will (more than shiggys will to destroy) is able to manipulate the laws of AFO and OFA. However, this theory is more plausible if done in a collective effort, since the only times the laws were successfully overrided was when:

The OFA predecessors prevented Shigarakis advancement via their collective wills

The hundreds of vestiges (victims of AFO) were spurred on to take action against AFO

How does this relate to Katsuki?

If Katsuki were truly to be possessed or have his quirk stolen by AFO then part of his consciousness will reside within AFO, a vestige, similar to the vestiges that were inspired by Jiro’s speech.

Now I’ve seen a lot of fans theorising the possibility of DvK3 (deku vs kacchan) and I think this will be it.

However, what makes this battle from the other two is that Izuku’s hidden feelings will be revealed and spur Katsuki to fight against AFO’s control

During deku and kacchans fight at ground beta, Izuku has a internal monologue stating that katsuki is his image of victory, but he never explicitly states it out loud

Izuku hasn’t also responded to Katsuki’s apology, nor has he thought about Katsuki’s sacrifice which is too painful for him to remember

This time though, we will finally get Izuku’s true feelings and his will to save Katsuki (possibly also child tenko) will give Katsuki the will to win.

I would also love to talk about all the foreshadowing alluring to the possibility of DvK3 but i’ve reached the image limit so I’ll write about that another time, however there a lot of other great theories out there pointing out the evidence and such

But all in all, this fight will be the conclusion (as for now) of BKDK’s relationship and development, which Hori has been setting up since chapter 1. We’ve gotten Katsuki’s true feelings and now we’re just waiting on Izuku.

Bkg and the Second User

As for Bakugou and the second user: personally, I don’t think they are related and I also don’t believe in the time travel theory. I do, however fully believe that they are narrative parallels and that Katsuki will finish what the second user started:

By forming a rebellion within the vestige world with the previous victims of AFO and inspiring them to fight against AFO’s control.

Remember when I said that the AFO/OFA rules were only successfully broken when the vestiges worked together?

I think the vestiges will be inspired by deku and bakugou - by their will to save and win, by their deep bond and, and overall by their presence which Aizawa pointed that their presence inspires others to fight and be their very best.

This will be Katsuki’s justice for Kamino (beating AFO), his justice for the sludge villain (taking control) and his greatest victory.

It will also greatly limit AFO’s ability to fight, allowing the heroes to get in close quaters and deal lasting damage to AFO’s main body.

(I also suspect that All might’s vestige will have a role to play in this but thats for another time)

Hori’s comment + the aftermath

As for Hori’s comment that “fans and haters of bakugou will enjoy his moment”…. It sounds bittersweet.

I hate to say it and I hope it doesn’t come true, but if Katsuki were to be possessed then it is likely AFO will steal his quirk in the process like he did with those civilians. Hence, fans will love his development + heroism and the haters will love that he is quirkless.

However, I do think that if this were to happen then Eri will be able to give his quirk back, but the recovery will be slow and gradual.

Also before people say “katsuki has nothing to do with OFA blah blah”- Just a reminder that Heroes Rising was Hori’s original ending for MHA in which Dk and Bkg shared OFA, so it’s not entirely impossible.

Okay, that’s all! There were some things that I wanted to expand on and add to this post but it was getting too long and i’d be stuck here for years 😭

And this is how Deku reacted to Kacchan getting stabbed

THEN HOW THE HELL IS HE GOING TO REACT WHEN HE SEE KACCHAN LOOKING LIKE THIS

Not to mention the fact that when Kacchan got captured from the L.O.V Deku was close to Kacchan

As well in this this moment Deku was close to Kacchan

So now how is Deku going to feel that he was pulled away from the fight he needs to be in (and is currently returning to). That the fact that Kacchan is f**ked up all because he wasn’t there to do what needs to be done.

To Deku his feelings for Kacchan are on another level. Deku can’t control his heart when it comes to Kacchan. Deku gets extremely emotional when it comes to Kacchan. AND the first time we see this is with the sludge incident, Deku is in f**king tears claiming he couldn’t see him (Kacchan) die. That he couldn’t just stand there. Deku ran in trying to save Kacchan WITHOUT A DAMN QUIRK! And now that he has the power to help Kacchan, especially right now in this moment, isn’t there and is trying to get back he is now going to have more motivation to beat/defeat Shigaraki because Kacchan, his childhood friend his rival his image of victory his Kacchan, is extremely injured.

Haven’t they figured out that Deku has no control when it comes to Kacchan yet? Almost everyone has seen it yet they act almost slightly blind. Like hello wake the hell up and smell the damn roses. Deku’s body moved on it’s own, no other thoughts, no thoughts about other people, no thoughts about his own safety, no thoughts on wether he could die or not just Kacchan.

It’s just pure hearted Kacchan! Nothing else nothing more just,

Izuku’s Ofa so far has been reacting to Katsuki and Katsuki only. Katsuki has been the trigger for Izuku’s OFA to change and for new quirks to trigger. Not because Katsuki is related to OFA himself..He isn’t.. but because Izuku has the strongest emotions for Katsuki than he has for anyone else. Every single quirk that needed a trigger has been triggered by Katsuki so far. Once Izuku and Katsuki hold hands, it’s gonna be emotional. VERY emotional and OFA is going to react again. It’s gonna react stronger than ever before.

Because Izuku’s emotions are wild right now and.. the more time it passes the wilder Izuku’s heart is because of Katsuki and once it all settles in and Katuski holds his hand.. OFA will have a MASSIVE reaction. Horikoshi said he loves drawing hands because hands show emotions the best in his opinion. So you can bet once these two boys hold hands, it’s going to be BIG!! It’s been postponed for a long time. Izuku will also have to face whatever he is pushing back regarding Katsuki..

Even back when Izuku’s OFA wasn’t ready, his heart still reacted strongly to KATSUKI. When he was kidnapped, we can see Izuku losing his mind, and giant text across the screen that says “THROB” as he screams at Compress to “give him HIS Kacchan back”. If Izuku was strong enough this would have been a quirk trigger moment. So Izuku’s heart has always reacted to Katsuki.

This is going to be long because I wanna dwell into Ochako’s character, and how I think her fight with Toga is gonna go.

First..Ochako, in this interview, being lumped together with some of the best MHA characters who’ve had some insane development is quite bold. If we look at Ochako from the shallow point of view, like many people do, you’d say she hasn’t had any development whatsoever. That she’s been very stagnant even. Typical love interest chasing after the MC. And perhaps that’s what Horikoshi wants us to think. So that he can plot twist us at the end. Because it is very strange that in 8 years of My Hero Academia, Ochako hasn’t ONCE said what she’s feeling. It was always people around her assuming things and her feeling uncomfortable about it. We never hear her say:

“I love Deku..”

“I want to be with Deku..”

“I want to catch up and fight alongside Deku”

“I want to be able to protect Deku”

No… in fact don’t you think it’s strange that these things always came from people around her? What is the reason Horikoshi is keeping her this cryptic? What about her reaction to Katsuki apologising and holding Deku? Why did HORI keep us in the dark regarding what she realised there?

Because let’s be honest. Izuocha is a typical shonen ship everyone is expecting to be canon anyway. People around Ochako think she’s in love with Deku, fans think she’s in love with Deku.. so why keep it such a mystery to in the end just have her say: “yep, ya’ll were right. I love Deku.”

It doesn’t make ANY SENSE! And I want to mention another point.

So Horikoshi said that Toga was created based on the premise that of Ochako. Toga is the embodiment of peer pressure, repressed feelings, and overall harmful feelings that just need to GO. She meets a boy who she THINKS she has a crush on but she ends up killing him.

So.. Horikoshi’s original plan was a bit different. He spoke about wanting Katsuki to stay mean and horrible and wanting Ochako to be the bright person in Izuku’s life to balance this out. However, in this interview down here, he says he changed his mind about where he wanted Katsuki to go. And it seems the moment Horikoshi decided Katsuki was gonna come back into Izuku’s life as someone positive, Ochako suddenly lost her original purpose. And so.. Horikoshi had to change her story and Toga was born. There was no time nor place for both Izuku and Ochako to stay in Izuku’s life.. and Horikoshi clearly made his decision. Bakudeku.

So Ochako’s path had to change.

Remember…Toga is created on the PREMISE OF OCHAKO. Of course this isn’t how Ochako is. She isn’t violent..But what we do see?

We see Ochako trying to be herself just like Toga. Trying to be a hero.. but she can’t. Because people around her keep telling her who she is and how she feels instead.

She just wants to be a hero.. but she keeps being reduced down to the love interest. Ironically not just by the fans and the dudebros.. BUT ALSO HER OWN FRIENDS!

She doesn’t like this. But they get to her eventually.. constantly tell her “you must love him.. wow you saved him??? You must love him!!” And this isn’t just one person. This is multiple people telling her the same thing over and over again until she just.. she accepts it. She thinks she truly loves Izuku.

The first time I noticed something was off about her was when she jumped to save Izuku when his black whip activated. She actually doesn’t put an emphasis on Izuku. In fact, she thinks: “We have to save the heroes when they’re in trouble” and “for me, helping PEOPLE has always been a given”

This isn’t Orihime Inoue. This isn’t “I want to protect Kurosaki-kun” and “I want to be strong enough to catch up and fight alongside him so that I can protect him.”

Ochako’s goal has never been protecting IZUKU specifically. But rather people in general. Mina misses the entire point of this and teases Ochako for simply doing her job as a hero. Ochako hasn’t had a SINGLE romantic thought about Izuku nor did she see anything wrong with her action until Mina started messing with her. Ochako blushed, Izuku blushed.. but this was not the regular blush.

Taking a look at Izuku’s face, he simply looks away, doesn’t say anything, doesn’t engage in this conversation and never addresses it or thinks about it again. If my crush was teased for liking me and grabbing me tightly.. I sure as hell would think about it A L O T.

But Izuku doesn’t. In fact, his face looks very uncomfortable. It gives me the “wtf Mina, why do you have to make it uncomfortable.. we are friends” vibe.

All of these things slowly contribute to Izuku’s and Ochako’s friendship slowly falling apart. They spend less and less time together until finally.. they’re never hanging out again.

That’s why I believe chapter 342 had to happen. To FIX their friendship that was messed up because of people not minding their own business. Ochako has finally realised that no.. she never had romantic feelings for Izuku in the first place and she doesn’t feel uncomfortable around him anymore. Izuku never had any feelings to begin with past the “omg a GIRL” rush he had at the beginning. They can finally talk normally again.. like two friends.

When she gives her speech on the street we have the same flashback we had when she saved Izuku from black whip. “I want to save PEOPLE and see a smile on THEIR FACE.” Again.. nothing specifically Izuku related. Only this time, she doesn’t care what people are gonna think. She’s protecting her FRIEND and if anyone calls her action out for being romantic, she can shut it down. She’s grown enough for it.

So how do I think her fight with Toga is gonna go?

I think she’s gonna use her own feelings.. her experiences.. how the environment shaped her beliefs and feelings how they convinced her she’s feeling something she doesn’t.. how they made her feel like she’s doing something wrong simply because Izuku was a BOY.. When all she did was do her job…to try and get through to Toga. To try and get Toga tor realise something about her own feelings and how the society affected her just because she was different.

I can’t see how Ochako embracing her feelings for Izuku is gonna do anything OTHER THAN PROVE TOGA’S POINT!!

And we need to shut her point down. Proving it would make things a hell of a lot worse.~

Also, did we ever find out why exactly Toga has this mindset? When did she start relating wanting to be exactly like someone with romance? Did this come from her? Did someone tell her? I feel like this could be another parallel with Ochako who was being told her feelings are romantic when they in fact aren’t. It could further help Ochako to save Toga by relating her own experience to her.

And that makes Bkdk..the only both sided relationship with this form of imitational concept. There are two ways Horikoshi portrays imitation which are very different but people seem to put them in the same basket. We have Izuku imitating All Might..Ochako trying to be like Izuku.. We have Hawks admiring Endeavor.. but these are all just that. ADMIRATION. Some of them were not healthy even. Izuku was forced to stop imitating All Might because he was about to permanently lose his arms. Ochako was forced to stop trying to be like Deku because it was holding her back..

But the way Izuku and Katsuki imitate each other.. is on a whole new level and this was intentional I’m sure. Because many fans just group Izuku’s and Katsuki’s relationships in the same basket as the ones I’ve mentioned above.. but it’s far from that. It’s genius really. Izuku and Katsuki don’t want to be like each other. They simply trust one another. They’re each other’s closest person and these things.. come naturally to them.

When Izuku is on the verge of losing, he subconsciously starts acting like Katsuki. He starts screaming, cursing.. it HELPS HIM GET THROUGH IT! It never holds him back. This is something Izuku never liked about Katsuki. And yet.. he picked this habit up.

Katsuki.. started muttering in the latest chapter.. analysing.. focusing.. subconsciously.. This is something Katsuki never liked about Izuku. And yet.. he picked this habit up.

They’re picking each other’s good AND bad habits.. and it somehow works out for both of them. Izuku imitates Katsuki’s moves willingly… but not because he wants to be like him. But because Katsuki is his image of victory. He trusts him over anyone.

This was for a long time the biggest argument of why bkdk was onesided. “If that imitation is supposed to be romantic.. then why is only Izuku the one doing it? You say Izuocha is onesided cause Deku doesn’t imitate her..but then so is bkdk.”

Well.. it’s not only Izuku anymore. Thank you Horikoshi.

Katsuki didn’t let SFO break his spirit. He has grown. He learned things.. he accepted things..His eyes are still glowing.. he is still fighting.. this is the WORST situation Bakugo Katsuki has EVER found himself in.. and he starts muttering… like Deku…

His eyes.

I was scrolling through some old liked videos on tiktok, and I encountered a post by user ttenkos (on tiktok) about how Katsuki’s eyes are hidden when he experiences a lot of hurt and emotion.

Because of that, it’s likely he’s crying here, they argued. (below)

Or he’s at least really hurt, and it’s apparent in his eyes.

And so a lot of us have made that connection. That Katsuki hides his face because he’s about to or is crying.

But like, I finally put two and two together and realized just how significant Katsuki’s eyes are—

Bakugo’s eyes betray his emotions.

Which is a trait unlike of any other character in My Hero.

This is established in the first damn chapter of the manga.

Bakugou’s eyes are like literally the thing that propelled this story forward because when Bakugo was shouting insults and blasting his quirk, they exposed his fear and motivated Izuku to act.

Then… Izuku tells Bakugo his secret. And the whole time, Bakugo is on the verge of crying.

From puffy eyes to a clouded glare, there’s something about his eyes in every panel.

He hides behind his hair for a while, and after that it’s revealed…

That Katsuki is crying :(

I love this scene so much. Wanna give it a kiss on the cheek /// there’s so much insight into their characters!

That same pattern is shown here:

And in that scene with Endeavor. But this time, he doesn’t cry when his eyes are exposed. Which I think says as much about his character as the previous examples.
