(disclaimer: i am probably (definitely) not qualified to be reviewing movies, this is just for fun)

i can't possibly start this without mentioning Jennifer Lawrence.. she is my (and i'm sure many other's) highlight of the movie. she's so raw and feral - and personally reminded me that above all, we're just (pretentious) animals.

beautifulllllllllllll cinematography and beautiful location (i want to live there ??!!)

*my* interpretation (in short): we're animals, who aren't designed to live with the expectations society puts on us, specifically women, who are put into roles such as 'wife' and 'mother', and can't just be the "animals" we're born as.

for me, some of the most powerful dialogue was between Grace and various other female characters who say, 'all women go crazy for the first 6 months' (or something along those lines). it's so common for women to feel like they're going 'crazy' / not themselves after childbirth, yet it's still such a challenge for them to receive the help they need due to the stigma surrounding it + how under researched and misunderstood postpartum depression / psychosis is (reminds me of The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman).

i think one of the main critiques of Die My Love that i've read is that it just didn't make sense, but i personally disagree - i think it's so cool to see a movie where the answers aren't just laid out for the viewers, and so conceptual that not a single person will have the same take (its fun to discuss !)

on the other hand, i did find some parts of the film to be a bit unnecessary, mainly the sub-plot with the motorcycle guy. didnt really feel like it added much to the film and it would be the same without it, but maybe i'm missing something.
