Itâs quite simple; throughout December you will be able to submit song prompts, which will be used to generate your own personal mixtape! Also known as bingo cards. After that, you will have a full year to create podfic inspired by the songs submitted. If you find that one mixtape isnât enough of a challenge for you, feel free to generate a new one any time throughout the year or choose whichever prompt catches your eye!
Your prompt should be anonymous and include the following:
- Song title
- The artist
- Link to a publicly available audio or video file of the song (Youtube, Soundcloud, Internet Archive, etc.)
The songs can be of any length, genre and in any language, they may be explicit, but mods reserve the right to remove any song that could be construed as harassment or hate speech.
Your prompt may also include further information, such as lyrics or MVs, but this is not required and participants are not expected to use all the information provided.
You can submit up to 10 songs which should be submitted as separate prompts.
There are no strict rules for how you should interpret the prompts and fulfil the requestsâany way the song inspires you is valid! Whether thatâs finding a fic with a matching title, delving deep into the lyrics or just vibing.
Likewise youâre not required to include the song in the podfic itself, but youâre most welcome to do so if you wish!
In short; all good faith interpretations of the prompts are allowed C:
Come 1st of January 2026, this is where youâll be able to find a link to the bingo card mixtape generator =D
Do the prompts need to include song lyrics? The music video? What about a translation? Album? Covers?
Not at all! But also yes?
Your prompt can include as much or as little information as you wish it to - as long as youâve submitted a link to the song, youâre all good.
But you can absolutely include all the additional info about the song you want, whether thatâs a translation of non-English songs, a particular live recording or what the song means to your specifically, just remember that the fill might not use any of it, and someone just working off a bingo card wonât receive that information.
A good rule of thumb to remember is that the prompts are not requests, only fodder for inspiration, so keep that in mind and try to avoid making them too prescriptive.
Can I submit my own song?
Absolutely! That would be positively incredible.
Just make sure the song is publicly available and include the lyrics - if there are any - in your prompt post, for anybody who might want to find inspiration in them.
Do I have to use the bingo card?
Only if you want to. If youâd rather browse the prompts to find one (or multiple!) that tickle your fancy, youâre welcome to do so instead - or alongside your bingo card.
Do I need to claim/fill the prompts on AO3?
Itâd be great if you did! Or at the very least added your pods to the collection.
But if you just generate a bingo card and then never look at the collection page again, whoâs going to know?
Can I fulfil a prompt that has been claimed by someone else?
Yes, in fact itâs encouraged.
Because the prompts are vague and can be interpreted in any number of ways, this event welcomes multiple fills of the same prompt. You can fill the same prompt several times, fulfil prompts that have already been filled or claimed, fill your own promptsâif inspiration strikes, youâre free to fulfil any of the prompts submitted.
But if you encounter a lonely prompt with zero fills, perhaps consider that one before opting for a more popular one? C:
Sooo I've got a bingo. What now?
Send your card in!
Blackout? Send it in! One line? Send it in! Haven't actually gotten a bingo yet but have done something else fun with your card, like made a YouTube playlist? Send it in!
For now the only reward is the satisfaction of a job well done and a little badge to commemorate the occasion, but in the future? Maybe something more. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this or any other aspect of the event, let us know!
Stickers! Feel free to use them however you wish!
