What is Mitten?

A spirit, a sort of god from an alternate dimension, or. Just an Alter in a system

Why is her name not Mittens?

She thinks she's fuckin quirky or something, that never had any real meaning and i think she honestly thought it would be a temporary name. She thought it was more unique than Mittens and it was reminiscent of the name Socks, which was a cat name we really attached to at the time

Why not just go by her alt. Name, Abbey?

Because we have called her Mitten for too long. Idk man i hate her

Why is she in that form?

She's presenting as what would comfort us at the time of meeting her, and she got attached to the form and never fully adapted to anything else. Though her soul is in other forms that come to us separately from her 'Mitten' identity

Why is the story called 'Mitten's Singular'?

To reference her stupid quirky name, and referencing the idea of a singularity: (Wikipedia) "Singularity (system theory), in dynamical and social systems, a context in which a small change can cause a large effect" which is what she is. She is an event in a catastrophe of layered timelines pinning them all together
