OG lis made their relationship sound so complex and ambiguous and decknine absolutely butchered it by speeding it all up and making it seem like their bond is based off chloe entering rachel’s life exactly when some shit was going down in her family Can’t you see you’re making their whole relationship revolve around that in-game? if they’d truly wanted to make this game to zero the focus in on amberprice and rachel’s character then why implement that storyline in a game that is so short when u know it’s going to take the focus away from amberprice’s relationship developing organically I personally think that Rachel shouldve stayed a voiceless character and that dontnod choosing to not even give her lines in The Nightmare was the right choice to make because that is the Point. she was a tool to the plot first and foremost. each secondary character’s relevance to the Mystery of lis 1 was how their relationship to rachel was like Nobody knew the real Rachel which is why no one couldve predicted her fate until max and chloe found her corpse. if ur going to give a voice to a character that was only there to haunt the narrative crazy style at least Do it Right. i dont HATE the game it has its moments (chloe’s diary + the ‘fuck cameras’ bit + chloe tagging the bathroom scene™️ + chloe’s dreams which are Not That Well Written but had the potential to be a rlly good plot point + the play which is the only part where i buy that this amberprice is the same as lis 1’s) but like come on
