Hi and Welcome to my tumblr page. I write Twisted Wonderland and Obey Me! Imagines.
Mostly Twisted Wonderland for now, because since Obey Me! is already an Otome Game, they already write the Fluffy things themselves. So it's still a little hard for me having ideas that they haven’t already made. But I try. 😛
I like to write and sometimes I imagine this things. And seeing other people sharing the things they imagine as well, I thought other people could like to read mine. That’s how my Twst imagines started. Then came Obey Me! Despite playing Obey Me! for the longest time.
But I mostly made this post as navigation. So below is the list of things I’ve already written in case you want to read more of my stuff.
I hope you enjoy. 😘

Mononoke Lore Crash Course - So There Are 64 Medicine Sellers Running Around
A short summary of Mononoke lore. Originally posted this on Twitter, basically the same but I added some stuff after rereading the bagua wikipedia page

tbh im really curious as to specifically why rook covers up his freckles. it's clearly shown to be something he just chose to start doing on his own (vil did NOT make him cover them that is misinformation!!) and ive been pondering this for a little while because rook hasn't talked about his freckles himself that much, but i believe it stems from rook just generally not seeing his own beauty in nearly the same high regard he does others
for all the preaching rook does about others' beauty, there's a specific detail - he NEVER talks about himself in the same way. confidence in his abilities sure, but even then, whenever he's directly praised for his strengths, he's shown to regularly shift it onto complimenting his peers too instead of just himself; This seems to go more beyond rook just having a strong sense of humility as well.
rook has a very apparent lack of self worth. we see this through many aspects of his character, primarily his disregard for his own livelihood and ignorance towards his safety, but this is also shown through his opinions of himself as well. furthering this point, in rook's savanaclaw portrait voiceline, he says that he had even forgotten what he looked like before he transferred, because he had always ignored his reflection in mirrors.
we also see this through the several moments where rook actively blames himself for things that are out of his control, for example in book 7, where, even after waking up crying and confused, he blames himself for forgetting those memories despite having no clue what what was going on. Or in book 6, where rook talks about dealing with persistent nightmares due to his guilt about vil's overblot, even though he knows it's extremely unlikely he could've prevented it even if he stepped in more.
i think this is also a part of what makes his and vil's relationship so special too; vil taught him how to care for himself, and in the process taught him how to love those aspects of himself as well. the story from their first year (where vil helps rook get dressed up for a neige event) shows this especially well - rook says that it was the first time he had ever felt that happy about how he looked, and from that point on began taking pride and appreciation in his appearance and care for himself.
but there'll always be a part of rook that views himself as lesser. he seems to be much more critical towards his own self, and this extends to his appearance as well. he doesn't view himself in nearly the same adoration he does the people around him, and i think him hiding his freckles may come from that.
another aspect to this is that i think it could be possible that, to him, his freckles may also serve as a reminder to who he once was. switching to pomefiore meant that rook was no longer alone. he learnt not only to care for himself, but what it was like to have friends and people who truly care for him too.

LOTUS DRAGON COOKIE (Ft. Eternal Sugar Cookie):
-You had gotten away. Just barely. Like many cookies, you had been deluded to believe that Eternal Sugar Cookie's garden was perfect and beautiful full of happiness. However that happiness quickly turned to obsession when you had caught her eye. The one time you tried leaving the garden had turned her into the monster she had masked herself to be. You had only really been able to get away in the aftermath of the fight between Eternal Sugar and Hollyberry and company when the garden was torn apart and falling from the sky. Unfortunately you were on one of the pieces that fell off and downward you spiraled with the chunk of land until it fell into the oceans below. Luckily she managed to stay afloat in the ocean on some derby floating away in the ocean for days surviving on what fruit plants ended up falling into the ocean with her and floating among her until it was starting to run out. Honestly she wasn't even sure if she was in Beast Yeast anymore!
-She passed out for who knows how long until you woke up hours(??) (days??) later only to find herself washed up on some kind of beach. The bottom of someone's beautiful dress at her eyes. "Oh my. What do we have here?" "I'm not sure, Great Blue Dragon. They seem to be quite dazed." "You're quite right. How pitiful." She ended up passing out again only to wake up in a fairly beautiful bedroom with a cookie with pretty purple flowers all over her body looking at her. "Oh my. It seems you had woken up finally." "Where am I?!" "You are in the Lotus Palace under the protection of the Great Blue Dragon, my master and the master of this island! You will meet them soon, but first you must eat something." She had met Hydrangea Cookie who then brought her to see the Master of the island she had washed up on and oh my-..They were gorgeous. She thought Eternal Sugar Cookie had been the most beautiful cookie she's ever seen. That sentiment went away the moment she laid eyes on the dragon in cookie form. From the flowing robes to the dark eyes that fell on her, and then the dragon paused, eyes going wide looking at her.
-"I've never seen that kind of instrument before." She gestured to their mandalin as an ice breaker in the awkward silence. "You play it beautifully." After a few seconds they smiled. "Thank you. I often enjoy playing it to pass the time. Music and dance are the only true pastimes worth investing in." They adjusted it in their hands. "It's called a mandalin if you're wondering." "It's my first time seeing it. Do you play other instruments?" "Mm. From time to time but this one is my favorite." Their eyes glanced over the woman next to them. "Do you play?" "Someone taught me a long time ago to play a lyre-" She winced as the memories of Eternal Sugar made her cringe. "But I haven't played in a long time." "Oh. That's too bad. Perhaps you could show me sometime, but where are my manners? I am Lotus Dragon Cookie. What is your name?" "I'm Y/n."
-Hydrangea Cookie ended up showing her around the island which was beautiful. It was like Eternal Sugar's garden in the sense cookies sought refuge here and it was blooming full of life, but unlike her large sweetened garden, Lotus's island was a literal tropical paradise. Warm waters, dinosaurs, sweet fruits, and it seemed much more-..Natural. Not the sweetened sugary coated veil that seemed to cloak the gardens. Lotus was pleased seeing how much her face lit up as the days seemed to go by catching her by surprise one day over lunch- "So how are you enjoying the island?" "It's so beautiful and peaceful here! Everyone seems so..relaxed." They smile widely happy their home seemed to impress their mate new guest. "Thank you. I worked hard to maintain it for years. It's my pride and joy. Have you thought about leaving soon yet?" Their tone was innocent but their eyes narrowed slightly when she paused. "Um...Not yet. I mean..I really wouldn't know where to go if I did leave. I don't have anything to go back to yet." "Oh. I'm so sorry to hear that." "I just wish I had a normal life you know? Just a nice home and not have to worry about a lot of stuff." That instantly made them smile wider. "Ah. Then it's truly fortunate you came here. For you see I am a wish granter. If your wish is to find a peaceful home, then you can stay here forever as long as you wish." "Really? I wouldn't want to intrude-" "Nonsense. My paradise is open to all who needs it's shores."
-She cringed when they used the word 'paradise' but she was right where they wanted their sweet little mate. As days passed they spent more time together getting used to each other, Lotus was nothing like Eternal Sugar. Where E.S. was lazy and did anything bare minimum, Lotus actually put physical and mental work into everything they did for their island. Inspecting the plants with their hands, testing the waters almost constantly, seeming to scrutinize all the living things in their care with a caring look. "Hydrangea Cookie. Treat that pepino melon pterosaur for the injuries it sustained. With luck we can have them back in the air within a week." "Yes, Lotus Dragon Cookie." It made her heart swell the more time they spent together. "Do you want to play sometime?" they offered holding up the mandalin. "I would love to hear you play and sing. I could even teach you how to play the mandalin if you'd like." Unbeknownst to her, the dragon had been courting her this entire time. The sudden extra care to Lotus Paradise was them preening their territory to make it appealing to their mate, their constant playing in her presence was Lotus serenading her, dancing together was a mating dance from flower dragons long since passed, giving her anything she needed was them proving they could provide for a mate. She had accepted all of it and more! They were mated in every way but said out loud. "Y/n, do you have someone waiting for you? Family or perhaps a lover?" The question immediately got her to tense up and then look sad. "No. Not anymore."
-It was only then she opened up about her entire story with Eternal Sugar and how the Beast had not let her leave at all. Lotus definitely uses this to their advantage and comforts you. "There, there, Blossom. No need to worry about that now. You are safe here and nothing shall harm you again." Their words were comforting and sincere unlike Eternal Sugar's diabetic words, so it was easy to fall into their arms and give a yes to their question. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but would it be alright if you join me for lunch? As a romantic gesture." Things were perfect in paradise. Until they weren't. It was unforseen. It wasn't expected. Neither even knew how she managed to figure it out! But soon a storm would come over Lotus Paradise in a diabetic spike. "Oh my. It seems my flower was replanted from one garden to another." Just the familiar tone alone has her on edge. One blissfully perfect moment she was leaning against the dragon's side, the next she's scared stiff at the shadow that's looming over them both. Lotus merely just stares at the cotton candy pink stranger hovering over the ground just a few yards away. A sinister feeling radiating off of her. "No matter. Happiness always finds it's way back to you.~" "I do beg pardon but I don't believe we have met." Lotus instantly narrows their eyes. "You seem to have mistaken my mate for someone you've lost. You see she has always belonged here." In turn Eternal Sugar's eyes always narrow to dangerous half moons smile strained. "I think you're the one mistaken. My flower was blown away by a storm, there's no way she would find happiness here. It's better that I take her home before she wither's in a pot full of too much water." Lotus stands gripping the mandalin hard enough to make the wood creak as the slits of their eyes narrow. "I don't think you'll have to worry about my bloom withering away. Blooms needs lots of water to blossom fully. I'm more worried that any gardening of yours would give them a diabetic shock." Cue the gasp coming from Eternal Sugar as her face turns to a scowl. "I tried to be nice but you've just crossed the line. I will be taking my flower back with me." "Hmhm. Over my dehydrated dead body."
PITAYA DRAGON COOKIE (Ft. Burning Spice Cookie):
-In all honestly she was never sure what had compelled the Beast to abduct her from her small city in the spice lands. Hell. It was barely even considered a city! Only around three hundred or so cookies even bothered to still live in the half crumbling mesh of old stone buildings by a mostly dried up oasis. It was hard to survive but it was a relatively peaceful life. That was before the Beast known as Burning Spice came through. Her city hadn't done anything to him, never tried to get in his way or anger him. They hadn't even known of his existence until he came into their town axe blazing and buildings crumbling at his feet. Fires catching everything as cookies fled into the dessert sands screaming in terror or worse crumbling into flour crushed under rubble or with a swing of his gold axe. That was until his eyes laid up on her and it was like the time slowed in those few moments his eyes widened and mouth opened..before they narrowed into slits and his lips smirked. The next thing she knew she was flung over his shoulder and carried off back to the awaiting tribe of Wild Spices. "Welcome back, Master!" A cookie with the lower body of a buffalo greets Burning Spice once he returns. "It seems you have had a fine trip! Who is that pathetic looking cookie with you?" Burning Spice only holds her out and smiles at her like a child being given a new toy. "HAHAHA! She's a beautiful dessert rose isn't she? My newest concubine!" The purple haired cookie glanced at her briefly before smiling. "She'll fit right in with the others! Might even make them jealous with the fresh meat about." "HA! Good! That'll make things less boring for me! Tell Nutmeg Tiger Cookie to get her settled in!" She was taken to a rather lavish and large tent where she was met with other female wild spices, all of which seemed to be glaring at her were and were part animal of some degree. One of which happened to be part Tiger and just as intimidating as Burning Spice who only dressed her up in red and orange silks to match her Master's color theme. "You should consider yourself lucky. Not everyone meets Burning Spice Cookie face to face and lives to tell the tale. Just entertain him when he visits you and you shouldn't have to worry about anything..Oh.I nearly forgot." A long chain was also added to her, chaining her to a stake too deep in the ground to remove.
-The next year and a half was spent like that, chained to a stake and made to wear silks of reds, oranges, yellows, and blacks. It was torture. The first few times Burning Spice visited her, she begged and cried to let her go which made him laugh and amuse him the first few times but she found out quickly that repeated patterns quickly lost favor to the Beast who's amusement quickly vanished. In fear of being crumbled to nothing, she did whatever she could think of you entertain him. "Would you like to hear a story?" "Why would I want to hear a story? They all follow the same boring pattern!" "You haven't heard of this one before! It's a rumor that someone made up about you." "HA! Now you caught my interest! Now what kind of stories have cookies told about me while I was gone?" Sometimes it was stories, sometimes it was music, or dancing or crude jokes(he particularly seemed to enjoy those), sometimes it would be nothing at all but him ordering her to sit in his lap or just forcibly putting his head on her legs expecting affection and she was too scared to refuse him. Other times he'd walk in and just visit one of the other ladies clambering for his attention and leave her alone entirely but his eyes always wondered back to her which earnt her more harsh treatment from the wild spices. Kicking over her food, dumping water on her in the middle of the night as she slept, tearing her clothes- Pushing her hard to the ground and dragging her by the chain on her ankle. It was misery. And no one did anything about it when she brought it up- "It's a part of the harem life. You'll get used to it!" "You get food, water, shelter, clothes on your back, and a nice bed to sleep in. Complaining too much will get those things taken from you. My advice would be not to seem ungrateful in front of our master." "HA! My girls are treating you harshly are they? Good! Some healthy competition is always entertaining!"
-She was starting to notice that she was starting to be favored however. A new bracelet to adorn herself in. Maybe some sweetened fruit for breakfast. His gazes a fraction softer than before. She wasn't sure if it was the novelty of having a new toy or to stir the already hot embers between her and the other girls whom already had it out for her just for his own amusement. Either way she couldn't take it anymore. She had to get out of here and her opportunity came when she overheard two wild spices outside the tent's walls. "Did you hear? The Master and some of the tribe is going to be gone for a while." "Yeah. Said he's going after the cookie who stole his souljam. I'd hate to be the one who was on the receiving end of his wrath." This was it. Her chance! Most of the wild spices and Burning Spice himself would be far into the desert giving her a great chance to get far away before he even knew of her disappearing. The problem was getting out of the chain, she wasn't sure if there even was a key...but if she could cut away at the stake where it was bolted to, she might be able to get away! Luckily for her, she found a rock with a sharpened edge to it buried in the sand and hid it away under some old blankets when Burning Spice came to pay his harem, a.k.a just her, one last visit before departing. Tilting her head up by the chin with a smile. "Behave yourself until I get back. Desert Rose. I'll return with enough golden feathers to stuff you a mattress." She felt sick smiling and playing along by smooshing her cheek into his palm which pleased him. "I wish you a safe journey."
-He left with most of his forces the very same day leaving her to put her plan into action. It took four days to complete. Waiting until the middle of the night when most of the remaining spices were deep asleep at camp before she started discreetly cutting away at the wooden log where the chain was bolted to the stake slowly chipping away at it before leaning against where she was cutting pretending to read books Burning Spice had given her during the day so no one noticed. Then finally on the fourth night with a metal clank it finally came loose, she didn't hesitate. Gathering the long chain still attached to her leg, she quietly snuck to the edge of the tent paranoid that one of the wild spices or other women would hear her and sound the alarm. No one seemed to be around probably assuming they didn't have to guard her being chained up. So she bolted, running as fast as her feet could carry her through the sand clutching the chain in her arms. She ran through the cold desert night until her lungs burnt but she kept moving, never stopping only to briefly rest and seek out food and water. The paranoia that she was being followed and could be caught was always in the back of her mind. Where does she go from here?! She couldn't go home. He crumbled it and she had no idea where her people were, and that was probably the first place they'd look for her anyways. No. She had to leave the Spice lands entirely. So she headed off in the direction rumored to begin in lush green.
-She didn't know how many weeks she traveled, yes WEEKS because it was definitely longer than days. Full of hiding, scavenging, looking over her shoulder every five minutes for any signs of someone following her. Soon sand turned into dirt and grass, plants became less scarce and she was making her way through woods without any paths or signs of civilization minus the animals that seemed to roam around her. At least the food and water was plentiful. Days after days she traveled in woods without knowing where she was going until through a treeline she finally saw it. A dirt road, looking to be used often! Good roads usually lead to civilization. But which way to go?...Right lead farther away from the Spicelands so she went that way. Wearily walking and dragging the long chain behind her having gotten tired of constantly carrying it afraid it'd get snagged on a tree root or something in case she had to get away from B.S. or a wild animal(which happened more than once in the forest). Walking along the road hour after hour until the sky darkened and she just kept mindlessly walked until a light in the distance appeared and she ended up walking in on a campsite with a single cookie. An older lady with a large hat and eye patch was already looking in her direction hearing the clanking chain sound with a weapon but was astonished to see a young cookie in torn and dirtied silks, and looking like she'd been in a fight with a pack of cake house step into the light. "Great Dragon's Lava! What on earthbread happened to a youngling like you!?" She's quick to bring her over to the lit fire and check over the younger cookie, picking up the long rusty chain still attached to her. "Now why would a young lady like you be chained like an animal?" She hesitated. This cookie was a complete stranger, but it was the first cookie she had seen in weeks probably months who wasn't a threat..maybe. It was still better to be safe than sorry. "My city was invaded by a warlord far away from here, he took me as a conquest trophy. I escaped three..maybe four months ago. I think??" Truthful enough to get the point across while vague enough to avoid any suspicion in case anyone from the Spicelands traveled out this far looking for her. "Hmph...Wish I could say this was the first time I've seen something like this, but when you get to be my age and adventure all over earthbread, you see your fair share of evil." Her hand weighed the chain in it with a hum. "Feels old and weak. Hold still a moment." She watched as the older cookie took old a long thin metal pole and used it to unlock the chain from her ankle. "There we are. That ought to feel better. You don't travel around as long as I have without learning a few tricks." Her leg trembled as she moved it back and forth. The weight of that cursed chain finally gone after so long! "...Thank you." "Don't mention it. A pretty lady like you shouldn't be dragging around a rusty chain anyways." She looked at the chain still in her hands. "Although we should dispose of this properly. The weapon smith would probably pay you a few coins for the metal. He could always use it to melt down and make into something more useful like a sword." "Weapon smith?" She nodded. "Yep! There's one just ahead in Dragon City. I'm heading there myself after venturing to visit an old friend. If you're looking for food and shelter, that's the nearest place you'll find it! You're welcome to accompany there tomorrow morning. You sure look like you can use the help."
-She was hesitant, but what over choice did she have? At least there no one would know her. Safety in secrecy. The older cookie, whom she learnt was Tarte Tatin Cookie, accompanied her the rest of the way to Dragon City and it was so different from her old city in the Spicelands. the buildings were made of wood and brick instead of stone and some still were being built. "A little while ago, a dragon made from evil magic attacked Dragon City." Tarte Tatin Cookie explained while at the weapon smith selling him the chain for the metal he could use. "But since they're vanquished, folks have been rebuilding. It's no where near it's former glory, but it will be one day. I only hope I'm able to live long enough to see that day. But enough about that!" Tarte Tatin slapped her on the back. "You look like you can use a hot bath and giant meal! We'll get you cleaned up and feeling better in no time!" Tarte Tatin Cookie kept her word, treating her to some dragonhead stew at the local inn and lending her some clean clothes, she was MORE than happy to toss out those stupid silks that only reminded her of that awful Beast. For the first time in months, she felt free. "So what are you planning on doing after this?" Tarte Tatin asked her the next morning after paying for her to use a room at the inn for a night. It was the first time she was able to properly sleep in a real bed for months! It was glorious! "I'm not sure. I never expected to be so far from my home. Where I'm from, the blistering heat would probably kill a normal cookie." "No kidding? You must be from one of those tropical places then. We have a place just like that." That caught her attention immediately. Had she somehow gone in one big circle back near the Spicelands. "Oh? And where is that?" Tarte Tatin Cookie chugged down her drink of fireade before pointing further north. "It's called Dragon's Valley. The dragon made of black magic I told you about came from there before it was defeated and reclaimed by the Red Dragon themselves. It's covered in burning brimstone and volcanos oozing lava. Perfect for a dragon to live." "Two dragons? Isn't it dangerous for a city to be so close to a bunch of dragons?" Tarte Tatin Cookie paused for a moment before nodding and shrugging at the same time. "Yes and no. It was really a bad time when that evil dragon flew but ever since that Red Dragon-..Or Greenish-Red Dragon, whichever one they decide to go by these days, moved back in it's been pretty peaceful. Not to say that the current dragon is friendly, but they don't find any point in burning down towns and senselessly crumbling a bunch of cookies, which I'm not complaining about. The lesser of two ferocious dragons is better than one who sees hunting cookies as a good sport." She couldn't agree more, especially since Burning Spice Cookie probably did go out and destroy civilizations in his desire to ends cycles early, whatever that meant.
-But Dragon Valley? That sounded like a great place to hide out for the time being or until she decided what she was going to do. The territory of a dragon was the last place anyone would think to look for her. So a few days later, she bid her new friend goodbye thanking her for the help and the supplies she gave her for her travels, despite not telling her where she was going and headed for the infamous Dragon's Valley. It wasn't far. A two or three day journey until the ground turned purplish-red and rocky, and the air got hotter and hotter just like the desert until she reached it. The land was covered in cinnamon pattern that stung the eyes much like the grains of spices in the Spicelands, crawling in wyverns and other creatures that enjoyed the heat like the creatures of her home...It was also rocky and dry like the desert. Yes. This would be a fine mimic of home. She ended up finding a small cave in a cliff side just at the beginning of Dragon Valley so she could avoid disturbing any of the monsters that lived much deeper inside, especially the dragon. It wasn't too big. About as big as a bedroom at the inn but it was still her own. If she ever needed supplies like food or water, she could just take a trip down outside the valley or take the few days trip back to Dragon City. For about two months everything passing by was peaceful for her. She would forage in the nearby forest outside of Dragon Valley, and make the occasional trip to Dragon Valley to sell small portions of fruit she gathered and buy some supplies or something to put in her home. Her cave home slowly became more livable. A small futon bed in a corner, a table to hold the tables to light her home at night, a sharp dagger that Tarte Tatin suggested she buy in case she had to defend herself against the monsters up there on one occasion they ran into each other. Nothing fancy but having the sharp metal helped give her peace of mind. Occasionally she'd waken to the sounds of a volcano rumbling or the distant shrills of a wyvern but it didn't strike fear into her like the heavy thuds of Burning Spice's steps had or the clanking of chains. Sometimes she'd wake up swearing she heard his walking pattern or felt the clamp on her ankle but every time there would be nothing but her and the animals outside. Until one day she had the most unsuspecting company.
-It was a normal morning. She noticed her water food crate was starting to run low and do she stepped out of the cave and down into the nearby forests to go gathering what fruit the animals hadn't already eaten. However upon arriving back home, she noticed strange sounds coming from inside. She tensed up...but slowly relaxed, it didn't sound big, probably just a small cake hound or two she'd have to shoo out again. No worries. However when she stepped inside, she completely froze at what she saw. On her small table sitting down and stuffing their chubby face full of the chocolates she traded some rare berries for was a child. A small baby or toddler by the size of them, pink with chubby cheeks and magenta eyes, however they turned their head to her upon hearing her enter. As soon as they saw her, they smiled and pointed. "Googiee!" And then they stuffed another small chocolate in their mouth. Her mouth opened shocked before shaking her head. "I-...Hey little one." The food sack was placed to the side as they slowly approached the still eating child. "You probably shouldn't eat those. Too much chocolate is probably bad for you at this age." Of course they didn't listen stuffing the next-to-last piece in their mouth before giving a babble as she picked them up and held them in her arms as the baby giggled and babbled out. "Kyu bu boooo!!" She smiled at the adorable baby but she was so confused. No one but herself lived this close to Dragon's Valley, and she hadn't seen any travelers or adventurers lately. "Now who do you belong to?" "They belong to me! That'sss who!"
-She jumped and whirled around staring wide eyed at another grown cookie. They were taller than her by at least a foot and a half and had to literally duck to get into her doorway. Pink dough was covered in much darker pink armor of some kind, and a long white ponytail with black speckles cascaded from their head and down their back. Their figure easily blocked the way out and what scared her most was the sword they were currently holding in their hand. Black eyes with white slits narrowed at her intensely looking her up and down before the baby in her arms pointed at her smiling at the bigger figure happily. "Ook! Googiee!" "Yes, I am very aware it'sss a cookie!" The sword raised slightly. "A trespassing cookie at that!" "What? I'm not trespassing! This is my cave!" "On MY territory!" "Yours!?" "That's right! Thissss whole valley isss mine! I fought hard to get it back and I am not letting sssome cookie trespassesss here!" She frowned at him, hard. "Now you see here!" One hand pointed at him as the other still held the giggling infant. "I've been here for the last two months and I have not seen a single cookie here besides me until now!" She stomped up to them making them raise their sword but didn't strike as their child was still in her arm. "And I'm not about to let some stranger walk in here and take away my home again! Just who do you think you are walking into someone else's home and demanding that they leave!?" "Sssays the one who'sss holding my hatchling!?" They challenged back. "Peet-ya!" The infant added waving their arms towards them. "I didn't take them if that's what you think! I just walked in here and they were eating my food, but if that's what you want-" The infant squealed as they were held up to the figure making him-...Her?? Fumble to catch the infant just placed in their arms staring between the baby and the woman crossing her arms with a scowl. "There's your baby! Now get out!" "How dare a puny cookie like yo- ACK!?" They fall backwards as she literally shoves them out the door, the baby screaming a "WEEEE!!!" as they fall on their behind like they were on a ride. The woman standing over them glaring. "And next time knock before you walk in on a woman! Are you a pervert or something!?" "P-Pervert!? I would never-" "THEN RESPECT COOKIES' PRIVACY!!" The flap of fabric she used for a door was then thrown across the entrance blocking them out as they say there embarrassed and very annoyed. "Just who on earthbread does ssssshe think she isss!?" "Googiee kyooo buya!?" "That isss irrelevant to thisss entire situation!" She didn't dare remove the flap until she heard..flapping wings and then quiet. A quick peek outside lead to no one about and she breathed a sigh of relief. Just who was that guy? They were decked out in armor and had a sword so maybe a knight? An adventurer maybe? Hopefully it was just a misunderstanding of a parent loosing their child and she'd never see him again.
-Unfortunately they were back the next day. She had found that the child had also consumed some of her other food besides the candy and she had to go replace it only to come back and found the stranger in pink armor leaned against the cliff side as the baby sat at their feet playing with a couple rocks like they were building blocks. "Googiee!" They cheered as soon as they saw her and the stranger leaned off the wall. "It'sss about time you get back here!" They barked with a scowl. "You didn't think I'd let you walk away from humiliating me did you!?" She sighed rolling her eyes. "Look. If this is about yesterday, then I'm sorry for the misunderstanding but I did NOT take your child!" "I know that! They wonder off sssometimesss! I'm talking about when you humiliated me!" "You mean when I pushed you on your behind? It's not that big of a deal. Cookies trip over things all the time." "That'sss not the point! I demand you apologize and vacate my territory immediately!!" "Again with that!? What is with you!? Last time I checked this is the dragon's territory-" A loud FWOP sound caught her off guard as two magenta wings as large as herself suddenly raised from their back and a growl that no normal cookie could make escape their mouth as their volume increased. "I. AM. THE RED DRAGON!!" The voice booms and echoes all over the valley scaring a few wild animals and wyverns into fleeing as the cookie stands there. She's stunned to say the least looking this figure up and down...Before furrowing your brows. "Aren't dragons supposed to be like...really, really big?" "I'm in cookie form merely to communicate better with you! Now I demand both an apology and for you to leave my territory thisss insssstant!!" "I'm not in your territory." "WHAT!?" "The dragon's territory is in the valley right? I'm not in the valley, I just live at the entrance." "That's still a part of it!" "Not in it." The figure facepalmed before hissing pulling their hands down their face. "Why must female of the cookie kind be so difficult!? First Hollyberry Cookie and Dark Echantressss and now you!! You ssshould be trembling where you ssstand begging for mercy and my forgivenessss!" "Simple." She picked up her bag of fruit again before fixing him with a glare. "I have experienced something a lot more scarier than a dragon." Their face goes as she simply walks past them and into the cave the infant laughing at their parent's face. "...WHAT!?" They turned to stare at her simply putting away their food supply. "Impossible! What in the entire Dragon Valley have you seen that is ssscarier than me!?" "What I learnt to fear is not in this valley, but within the Spicelands."
-That gives the dragon paused as they continued to watch her in the doorway. A sudden thoughtful expression on their face. "The SSSpicelands? That'sss quite the dissstance even by flight." That would explain why she doesn't seem to succumb to the blistering heat and barren ground like the average cookie. She traded one blistering home for another. "Why would a cookie from the SSSpicelands come all the way to my valley?" "It's not like I had a choice. I was forced to leave after a monster single handedly destroyed my home and crumbled a lot of my people to nothing but flour." She turned to him with a frown. "Seeing your own people die at the hands of the monster who scared you to death is pretty scary. Wouldn't you agree, Red Dragon?" They didn't say anything at first continuing to stare at her. The prickling familiar conversation with a certain Queen came to mind making them hum. "I..sssuposse to the average cookie it would be." They said slowly crossing their arms. "But that ssstill doesssn't tell me why you sssettled in my valley. You owe me at leassst an explanation." She paused...They had a point she decided. After all if she owned a plot of land and found someone living on it, she would probably want to know why too. With a sigh she turned to them. "Alright. If you really want to know, it's because this place reminds me of my old home." Their head tilted. "This valley remindsss you of the desssert?" "They're pretty similar. Both are fairly hot and dry and to survive here is the same." "Underssstandable, but that ssstill doesn't give you the right to just move in asss you sssee fit." She just stared at him. "Fine. What would you like for me to do? Apologize? Leave? Both?" They don't answer at first before opening their mo- "OCK!!" They both blink as a floating figure suddenly pops into view holding a misshapen purple-red rock out to her. "OCK!!" They repeat with a giggle. "Oh. Is that for me?" "Kyuuuu bababa!!" She smiles at them taking the rock. "Aw. Aren't you the cutest little..dragon?" She supposed they were a dragon too considering their parent was also a dragon. "SSSnapdragon Cookie! We do not share nesssting materialsss with ssstrangers!" "Ute Googiee!!" They respond before handing her another rock in defiance making their parent groan. "SSStubborn hatchling you are." "They must get it from you." They huffed what sounded like a small laugh as she looked at them. "..My name is Y/n Cookie by the way. What's yours?" "Usually I wouldn't wassste my time telling a simple ssstubborn cookie my name, but sssince you have no idea who'sss name baresss this land, I am Pitaya Dragon Cookie! Widely known asss the Red Dragon!" "Or the Greenish-Red Dragon as a friend told me." "That asss well....SSSince you have amusssed me and caught me off guard which is rare for a cookie-" They turned to leave. "-I will allow you another day to ssstay asss long as you don't crosss further into the valley and pay tribute to me at leassst once a week." "Tribute?" "You seriousssly didn't expect me to let you ssstay for free did you? I will collect a small tribute from you once a week as payment for allowing you to ssstay under my protection. Only ssseems fair in exchange don't you agree?" "Depends on what you're asking me for? I heard dragons like treasure but I don't have a lot of coins on me, and I don't come from anywhere rich."
-They stopped and turned with a smirk on their lips pointing out her wrist. "That will be a good sssstarter!" She blinked looking at her wrist and finding the gold bracelet Burning Spice had given to her. Oh. Honestly she had forgotten she still had it. She had only kept it in case she ever had to sell it for emergency money, but if this dragon wants it they could have it. "You sssaid you've been here for two monthsss? That meansss you at leasst owe be eight tributesss. One per week you've been here. And your rent is way overdue, Y/n Cookie." Without a word, she silently undid the bracelet and tossed it over to them. Pitaya easily caught it and held it up to look with Snapdragon cooing at it's shiny metal. "Pretty!" "Well?" Pitaya hummed before sending her a smirk. "This is pure gold. Very valuable. So I'll knock off one month'sss rent. However you still owe me four more plus this week'sss!" They exposed their back to her flexing their wings. "I'll be back at the end of thisss week for my five tributesss. If you can not provide me with them, then you'll have to go! It'sss only fair! Hahahahaha!!" "HEY!! That's not fair you over grown newt!!" Pitaya's voice mocked her cackling loudly as both dragons flew away.
-In all honestly Pitaya wasn't expecting that puny cookie to even come close to getting five tributes in less than a weak. They just wanted to panic that little cookie into leaving and have fun doing it. Now all they needed to do was wait and enjoy the few days at the jungle. Snapdragon always enjoys being around nature! However when they returned as promised, they were not expecting that weak looking Spicelands cookie to kick an old rickety chest across the cave floor at their feet. "There's your tributes! A whole chestnut trunk full of them!" Her glare could crack diamonds as she watched their dumbfounded face stare at the chest...before they reluctantly opened it shocked to find it full of gold and jewels. Snapdragon immediately dug their little claws into the shiny objects with child's delight giggling. "Pretty!!" "I-..You-" They sputtered looking from the chest to her. "HOW DID YOU COME ACROSSSS THISSS!? I DEMAND TO KNOW!!" "It's not only dragons who hoard treasure it seems. Your wyvern cousins like to like doing it too." "YOU ENTERED A WYVERN'S NESSST!? DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH!? I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT OF THE VALLEY!!" "And you also told me to pay up! So are you going to argue with me or pick your jaw off the floor and take the 'rent'?" "How can a weak cookie like you possibly even do this!?" "There's lots of cookies who can do things if they put their minds to it. Strength isn't just brute force. Maybe you shouldn't underestimate us." Like they've underestimated cookies before. They cussed in a language she didn't understand picking up the chest under one arm and just left. "From now on I expect different tributes! And you had better ssstay out of the valley!" Alright bet.
-They returned the next week after that and had found a basket of fruit and meat left for them with her no where in sight. She must've been out. Hmph. A measly tribute but they'll accept it. More food the week after that and the week after that without her in sight as the weaks came by. Was she avoiding them? "Googiee?" "I know. It's very...ssstrange." They decided to catch her by showing up two days early, catching her in the act of hanging up laundry when Pitaya landed startling her. "I've been waiting to catch you!" "Oh. It's you again. Is there something else I did wrong?" "NO!...I mean yesss! Why are you avoiding me?!" "I thought you were just my landlord. I didn't know I was supposed to talk to you too." "I have to be sssure you're not up to anything susssspiciousss! What if you do sssomething evil when I'm not looking?" She snorted giving him a smile. "Oh yes. Because I am SO evil! Look at me menacingly standing outside in view of any hero who can stop me washing my evil dirty laundry and evilly hanging up my wet dastardly dress to dry! I'll be sure to cackle very villain-ly when I'm sweeping the floors later. With a VERY dangerous broom mind you! It uses force to make the dirt leave the house! MWAHAHA!!" Pitaya Dragon growled feeling their face heat up in embarrassment as their hatchling just laughs along. "Phwunnie!!" "NO It'sss not funny! You dare mock me!?" "Look. If you're that worried about my evil cleaning, I won't touch a single rock on your valley." "IM BEING SSSERIOUS, WOMAN!!" "*sigh* Look. Realistically, if I really wanted to do something to you, what could I even do to you? You're stronger, faster, and you could probably see everything I do." "You could-...You could've put poison in those tributes you gave me!" "Even I know you would've smelt poison if I tried that with your strong senses." "Then-...You could be looking for my nest and throne!" "Again, you would've seen be doing that. It's not like I'm trying to hide my presence." "Then you could be after Snapdragon-" "If I tried taking your child, I wouldn't have given them back the first time. Try again." "Then-....You!" Pitaya fumbled for any reasonable explanation for this cookie to retaliate against them..but found nothing. "Look. As far as anything between us goes is essentially I pay a form of rent to live here and you take the payment." "I have my eyesss on you!" "good to know. Now if you're not going to help me hang up these dresses, you can leave."
-This became a pattern. Pitaya would make random show up always with their child either following them or being carried and would always greet her with a loud "Googiee!" She didn't mind Snapdragon Cookie. They were absolutely adorable and she enjoyed playing with them while Pitaya watched with narrowed eyes but she didn't mind. After a while a small suitcase was bought to keep all the little gifts the baby dragon would gift her in exchange for getting held and small treats she made- "What's that?" Pitaya had perked up smelling the soup she had made in a fire pit outside. "Dragonhead stew with a few tweaks. I decided to recreate it with my own additions." Her brow rose as they stared at the pot. "You want some?" "YES! I shall take thisss for my weekly tribute!" "What?" She pulled the pot from their hands as they just picked up the entire pot. "You can't just take my entire food source for the next few days! I'll share with you but you are not taking it!" She stated firmly putting it back down making the dragon growl. "You dare deny me!?" Wings flared as she just looked at them. "I am the Red Dragon! I gracssssiousssly let you live on my land under my protection, and you deny me the only thing I asssk in return!" "I'm not denying you, but some of the ingredients were REALLY expensive and hard to find, Pitaya. I have no problems sharing with you and Snapdragon, but you can't just take the entire pot-" "Then we'll duel for it!" "...You can not be serious. You'll fight me over soup?" "You need to know your place and thusss I-" Something hard and fast kicked one of their legs from under them sending Pitaya back unbalanced, and with a heavy thud they landed on their back with Y/n glaring down at them. "There! We dueled and you lost! Now get up and quit acting like a spoiled toddler! I'll go get some bowls. If you even THINK about flying off with it while I'm gone, then I'll track you down myself and make YOU into soup! Would you like some, Snapdragon?" "YUMMY!!"
-Pitaya took a while laying there just staring at the skies above. How-..How could such a tiny cookie have enough strength to kick like that?! The last cookie to take them down one on one in a fight was Hollyberry Cookie! And even then Hollyberry Cookie was an Ancient with a souljam! This cookie was plan and more frail than she was! Slowly sitting up, they watched with more clarity as she lovingly poured a bowl for the fluttering hatchling before filling a second one and offering it to them with a snort. "Don't look so sad. Here. You'll feel better with a full stomach." They said nothing as they just accepted the bowl and silently watched her tend to the hatchling with motherly care like wiping their mouth. Now they see. Growing up in a harsh environment must've made her dough hardy. Hm. They wouldn't make that mistake again and be caught off guard.
-For the next few weeks, Pitaya's behavior had shifted. Not in a bad way but more calm. Or at least calm for a dragon. They didn't threaten her as much anymore and still demanded she do certain like leaving them certain foods or objects as tributes or how she interacts with Snapdragon but those were manageable. Perhaps they finally took the hint that she wasn't 'evil' and trying to harm them. However other strange behaviors arisen. One visit in particular she was just playing with Snapdragon (using flat rocks as song kind of building blocks) with Pitaya hanging around as usual but this time the dragon was acting ..strange. Whenever she looked up they'd puff up stretching their wings out a little wider and giving not so subtle flexes to their upper arms and chest making them look bigger every time she looked at them. "...Are you alright there?" "Of courssse. Why wouldn't I be?" "Are you trying to intimidate me?" "Why do you think that?" They look taken aback before smiling and flexing both arms. "Impresssed by my ssstrength are you?" "No. You look like an almond bird doing stretches." Pitaya deflates immediate and pouts for the rest of the play session much to her confusion. That wasn't the only thing. Another unexpected visit she found a heavy burlap sack dropped at her feet. "What's this?" "Sssuppliesss you're alwaysss complaining about being too expensssive or hard to find!" Was their blunt answers with an eye roll. "I never complained about not having them. I was just mentioning how hard it was to get certain things around here." "Oh my witchesss. Do you want them or not?" Strange but then again she didn't know much about dragons, for all Y/n knew her casual comments about missing a few Spicelands quisine and needing a few things could be seen as complaining to a dragon. She wasn't going to complain about free supplies anyways.
-The behaviors only increased when Snapdragon made the mistake of calling her- "Mama!" Both herself and Pitaya were stunned but she corrected them quickly. "I'm not your mama. I'm your friend." "Mamama!" They squealed out giggling. "No. Friend. Not Mama." "MAMA!!" "No. Pitaya, tell them...Pitaya?" The dragon stands there frozen and pupils blown wide. "Pitaya, say something. Tell them Im not their mother." "...Well...You do act like their mother." They say slowly. "What!? How?" "You feed them, and play with them like a mother would-" "I feed you and keep you company too! Does that make me your mother then as well!? Am I a servant now!?" "WHAT!? No! That's not what I meant!" "Then what do you mean!?" Pitaya is just silent staring at her for a long moment unmoving. "...Perhaps, we have come at a bad time." They mumble before quickly picking up Snapdragon and leaving. UGH! Why were they acting so weird!? She needed to talk to someone sane for a while! So she left a basket of blueberries as a tribute in case Pitaya came back and started her journey to Dragon City. Perhaps someone who knew more about dragons would explain Pitaya's behavior. Tarte Tatin Cookie was found at the local pub telling a few new adventurers about one of her first adventures when the two caught up once more. By now the older cookie had been in the loop of Pitaya's visits and demanding tributes to let her live there but was interested in hearing the odd behaviors the dragon had recently been displaying. "-and they've even said I'm 'acting like their child's mother'! Whatever on earthbread that even means! I don't know what's gotten into them." The older cookie goes silent for a long moment taking a long sip of hollyberry juice before answering. "Hmm...By any chance have they..Oh, I don't know. Done anything else strange? Such as giving you food or other things?" "Yes. They gave me enough supplies to last at least a month. Why?" "You might want to sit down."
-"They're courting you." "WHAT!?" Y/n's voice is loud enough to make a few pub patrons look at them a moment. "You've got to be kidding me!" "Why would a dragon of all cookies want to court me? They tried to throw me out the first time they saw me." Tarte Tatin Cookie shrugs. "I haven't the faintest idea of what goes on in a dragon's mind, however being a-..somewhat retired dragon hunter, you don't hunt the beasts without knowing their habits. Trying to impress you with their body and strength, providing food, seeing you as a potential parent to their young- That's all a part of a courting process to them. I'm surprised they haven't given you a mating dance yet. Perhaps Pitaya Dragon Cookie is just lonely and developed feelings for you." She shook her head. "I refuse to believe it! This is the same dragon who tried to duel me over a stupid pot of soup of all things and then pouted like a baby dough when I knocked them on their backside!" Tarte Tatin Cookie slowly put her mug down staring at her. "Oh...Oh, you shouldn't have done that." "Why not?" "Some types of dragons associate fights with courtship." Y/n froze. "How many times have you two gotten into a physical tussle?" "I-...T-Two, but they only started acting weird after the second fight!" "Then the first one was probably them actually trying to fight you, and the second one was them testing the waters so to speak. They decided they liked you enough to pursue you after the second one." "But I don't want them like that! What am I going to do?" "Well from where I'm standing you got two choices, either leave Dragon City entirely or try to have a conversation with them but they probably won't take it well. Either way you had better do something before they get the wrong idea and assume you've accepted them. Because then it'd be too late for you." "What do you mean?" "Dragons mate for life or until one of them dies. Even then they rarely take mates after."
-She decided she was going to try and talk sense into Pitaya before doing something as drastic as leaving her home she put so much work into. Ironically she found them pacing the front of her home when she got back. "MAMA!!" "There you are! Where have you been!? I was one sssecond away from tracking you down myssself and dragging you back to our-...YOUR nessst!!" "Are you trying to court me?" Her blunt question caught him off guard making them pause. "I-..W-WHAT!?" "Are. You. Trying to. Court me?" She frowned crossing her arms. Pitaya remained silent staring at her. "I just spoke to a friend in Dragon City today and they told me some very enlightening things about what you've been doing. So answer me. Pitaya, are you trying to court me?" He grimaced a bit. "Yesss? Wasssn't it..obviousss?" "Not to someone who had no idea what you were doing." "Oh." And for once they looked the closest thing to embarrassed she'd seen. "Why would you be trying to court me?" "You are..a worthy cookie who doesss not show fear easssily. The last cookie to do that, was an old friend." "Then why didn't you court them?" "I've thought about it long ago that but I've already come to the conclusssion it could never work out. She isss one with too many resssponsssibilitiesss on her shouldersss already. She would never accept even if I had tried, and it would have never worked out. Besidesss she is not what you cookiesss call 'mother material'." "Kyuuuu uuuu aba!" Her eyes gazed over the small dragon tangled in their hair. Ah. She guessed as a parent they'd have to take into account the best thing for their baby. "I understand...But I don't know if I want to be in a relationship with anyone. I have...bad luck with 'suitors' you can say." "You? With who?" "....Would you even want to listen to a cookie's pathetic story?" "I would listen to anything my mate would want to tell me about her life." "I'm not your mate...but I'll tell you If you promise to listen and not tell me it's dumb or anything." "I give you my word! And a dragon'sss word is eternal!"
-Well-...Technically they did keep that promise- "I'M GOING TO BURN THAT DAMNED BEASSSST'S DOUGH TO NOTHING BUT CHARCOAL IN THE LAVA PITSSS!!!" Once again their voice carried over the valley as they raged with newfound wrath after being told what happened. Inhuman growls and snarls leaving their mouth as they snapped their fangs at everything. "KYU KYU!! BUU YU!!" Snapdragon (cutely-) fiercely added standing at their parent's side furiously waving their arms around. "I couldn't have sssaid it better myself! That cookie will pay for what he did to my mate! Give him a tassste of hisss own medicine! We'll sssee how trapped he feelsss once he'sss burning in a volcano!!" "BUBUBU!!" "Pitaya, calm down!" She gently grabs the hissing dragon by the arm. "You can't just fly off to fight a Beast Cookie! He could seriously harm you! You haven't seen the destruction he can cause like I have. Besides, he doesn't even know where I am, however a Red Dragon coming to start a fight with him 'over his mate's honor' might give him a very big hint to that fact! Don't you think?" That instantly got the dragon to pause before releasing an annoyed hiss. "I guesss ssso. But if he thinksss he can show up here and take you from me, then he'll sssee where the phrassse 'that'sss the way the cookie crumblesss' comesss from!"....They suddenly blink and whirl back to her. "Wait. Did you jussst call yourssself my mate???" Oops. Bad slip of the tongue timing. "I meant in a hypothetical senario!" ...They smirk. "Too late. No take backsss!" "I'm telling you I didn't mean it like that!" "Too bad. You've already accepted your place!" "That's not how this works! That's not how ANY of this works!" They smirked wider. "Now, Dear. Don't argue In front of our hatchling.~" "MAMA!!" Snapdragon had quickly latched onto her once more making her glare at them. "UGH!! You dragons are so stupidly stubborn!!" "Hahahahaha!! Asss are you desssert dwelling cookiesss! Do not be alarmed. I meant what I sssaid before." Their face softened. "A dragon'sss promissse is eternal. I will never allow that Beassst or anyone elssse harm you again. Asss long asss I live, you will know no fear or harm. There is not a lot I can sssay about being mated, but I can guarantee I mean what I sssay at leasst." "...*sigh* I guess we'll have to see if that's true then."
-Pitaya was many things. Brash, stubborn, demanding and difficult, tempermental- But they did keep their word. Their visits ramped up in frequency to now you'd be seeing them almost every day of the week and had forbidden her from going to Dragon City alone anymore. "I'm accompanying you from now on! You could be harmed by some hunterssss if they find out you're matesss with a dragon!" "I think you're overreacting, Pitaya." "I don't care! I'm going with you from now on and that'sss final!" Rather than fighting on this hill, she allowed the large dragon to accompany her to Dragon City. It was fascinating to watch them change their clothes from the heavily clacking armor to a more adventurer's clothes as a disguise for them to walk in the crowds, eyes darting around in scrutiny at the other cookies. Tarte Tatin Cookie found it amusing watching the dragon fret over a cookie. "So how's the married life, Oh Great Red Dragon?" "You're jussst jealousss that I have sssomething to protect and you don't!!" It was annoying but at least she didn't have to worry about random men hitting on her at the pub anymore after one made the grave mistake of putting an arm around her and flirtatiously asking if- "You look lonely sitting by here all by yourself.~ Can I buy you a drink?~" Only to then be thrown to the ground by a snarling dragon and a sword held to their neck. "TOUCH MY MATE AGAIN AND I'LL CRUMBLE YOUR PATHETIC COOKIE BODY AND THEN USE YOUR FLOUR TO BAKE BREAD!!" Down side they got banned from the pub by the owner after Tarte Tatin and herself pulled the dragon OFF the shaking cookie, but at least they could still eat and drink at the inn and no one really bothered her after that due to the glowering cookie always following her around. They were protective that was definitely for sure. Including taking patrols around her home and their valley more often, almost crumbling a few curious cake hounds that accidentally wondered too close..But they meant well.
-Physically they tried to get closer, often throwing an arm or their tail around her at first, then escalating to a wing, then it lead to full on holding her while she played with Snapdragon. Considering how they'd always let Snapdragon chew on their hair and play wrestle their tail, physical affection was probably a part of dragon families but the slow build up making sure she was comfortable was appreciated unlike the forced affection Burning Spice expected. It was cute in a way. Especially how wide his eyes went and how it went from a pink to a dark red the first time she kissed their cheek. Wings suddenly popping out with a FWAP sound and tail wagging almost instantly. "Aw. Are you blushing?" "I AM NOT BLUSHING!! MY FACE IS RED BECAUSSSE I'M ANGRY!!" "Sure, Pitaya." "I AM ANGRY!!......But sssince you insssissst on thisss-" They turned their head and leaned their other cheek towards her huffing. "Then it'sss only right you show your mate affection. I grasssiousssly give you permissssion to kisss me now." That followed a snort and loud laughter from you and an angry pout from him. "You are too cute!" "I'm not cute! I'M FEROCIOUSSSS!!" They were honestly too cute underneath the hard exterior. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad.
-Unfortunately the sands behind her weren't so easily forgotten. The moon was high in the sky when they had woken up and automatically stood. Something wasn't right. The dragon stood up in the small dark cave eyes staring down at the sleeping woman wrapped up in blankets, and Snapdragon flopped across her chest snoring loudly away peacefully. Before their head turned towards the doorway, eyes narrowing before walking out into the night and then stopping. Freezing on the spot at the sight of another large cookie approaching them. Their dough burnt a red under the moonlight as they walked towards them, large axe thrown over his shoulder as he approached. In retaliation, their own sword was pulled out with a growl. "Who dares trespassessss on my valley?!" The red cookie stops just a few yards away. "Ha! You call this a valley? Looks more like one of those puny civilizations I toppled into dust!" "SSSpeak what you want before I crumble you where you ssstand!" "My concubine seems to think she can hide from me in this wasteland. Unfortunately, nothing is eternal. Not even her little hiding spot!" "Cookie? There's been no cookies trespasssing here until you showed up! Now leave!" "Are you sure? She looks like-" As he proceeded to describe their sleeping mate, the sudden realization of who they were talking too dawned on them making them instantly hiss out wing flaring out causing the Beast to pause in his descriptions. "There'sss no cookiessss by that dessscription here! Begone before I crumble you to dust!" "HA!! Is that so?" The axe was hoisted off his shoulder and in both his hands with a large smirk. "Then perhaps I'll indulge in some entertainment before I take back what's mine!" "YOU'LL REGRET SSSTEPPING IN MY LINE OF SSSIGHT, BEASSST!!!"
A/N: Surprisingly, took a bit of time to write something for cookie run. I'm not sure why it this idea plus switching what dragon it was... but anyway, like always wirte on phone and it just some good old fluff.
This was differently strange, though you weren't going to stop what was happening. Because you weren't sure you could stop them from doing so.
Dragons were dangerous beings that took the lives of many kinds of cookies, the five legendary dragons being the most dangerous of them all. Tales of them had been past down generations, only adding onto the life-threatening one could be to a cookie.
But at the moment, you didn't feel you were in danger even though one of the most dangerous of the dragons was currently physically next to you. Their claws like fingers brushing through your hair softly scratching at your scalp. As you share this strange bathing experience with them.
"Such filth as to be expected of just a mere cookie.”
The dragon sighed, their eyes remained fixed on your unkempt hair. It was a strange position, the dragon chest against your back. Maybe you should be freaking out more.
To be picked up off the streets taken back to their palace like a stray cat. By the great dragon themself because they just all so needed to clean you up. With the most luxurious items some the dragon probably use for themselves, it was like a scene out of some romance book. But instead of being something only in word form, you find yourself living it.
With not much to do, you find yourself looking all over the bathroom location you were located in. The grand walls held lotus flowers with a mix of teal and pink. It was pretty clear this was a location inside the lotus palace. If the dragon wasn't dead, giving away the flower being everywhere you look would give it away to any cookie.
Up close the dragon was truly beautiful, something you just couldn't put into words. Their cyan dough showed no signs of cracks from age looking like they were a freshly baked cookie. Those frosting white lashes long and lushly made anyone envy that those were all natural. Even the hints of pink makeup of eye shadow and lipstick just made the dragon more breathtaking to look at.
Their eyes flicked down the second yours looked up towards theirs. For a second, you just stare at the white pupil slits in the black abyss of their eyes. Before you snap out of it, breaking eye contact.
“You're free to speak, I'm curious as to what you want to say.”
“Well Great Dragon… Why are you currently um… cleaning me?”
You were unsure if that was the right thing to ask, yet you spoke the words out before fully thinking on it.At your question they raised an icing brow before amusement appeared on the dragon face.
“Ah you don't need to think about that. You were dirty, and I just couldn't let you remain in that state.”
“I could have cleaned myself.”
Speaking up once more, the dragon seems to remain in an amused state at your confusion over their actions towards you.
“You could have, but why should you? After all, I find you interesting.”
The dragon leaned in close enough that you could feel their breath. A claw finger hooking under your chin lifting it up as the dragon spoke again. Even though the bath water was lukewarm at that moment, it felt boiling.
“And I know you amuse me… wouldn't you?”
With a grin, Lotus Dragon returned to their task, even humming a tone as they cleaned you. Unsure how to react to what the dragon had just said, you just sat there. remaining in the water, letting the dragon continue on their want to clean you.
The sound of a phone ringing can be heard. It keeps ringing for a while before it is picked up.
△ “Many apologies for disturbing your beauty sleep, but I think I found an opportunity you might be keen on checking out. One timeline I found had you going on vacations for a week, but a couple of Dragons made it difficult!”
△ “They managed to make it to the end until…an unexpected variable came into play and now I can’t find that particular YOU anywhere in that world! Whatever happened, it wasn’t pretty!”
△ “Ever since that clown buddy of yours started wrecking up the timelines, things have gone a little unpredictable. That includes the Dragons in your area! My proposition for you is to gather them all in one place so I can whisk them away back to their proper timeline!”
△ “Hopefully you won’t end up like that other YOU, your Dragon friends won’t be leaving you alone though! Remember to try and keep them away for 5 nights, but don’t let them leave your kingdom. You’ll want them all to be in one place!”
△ “Make it to the end of the week and be the night watch I know you can be!”

I'd like to make a request please. Can I please have a request where the reader and Rook go on a romantic date out in woods? Like I'm talking springtime sunshine, blooming flowers in a beautiful field. Just enjoying one another's company on a gorgeous spring day. Domestic fluff to the max!
Thank you and hope you have a wonderful and splendid day bestie! :D
Yellow arrows to spring
✦Rook Hunt x Gn!Reader
✦FLUFF! Maybe the fluffiest fluff I ever wrote
✦“Spring does not rush. It blooms in its own time. You are allowed to do the same.”
Your shoulders ached before you even reached ramshackle’s creaky front door. The week had been merciless. Sam’s shop had been packed with new supplies, Grim had knocked over three potion bottles and then demanded tuna as “emotional support” and your own notes had blurred together after hours of staring at them. You were running on coffee that had gone cold hours ago, a half eaten sandwich you’d forgotten about, and the stubborn belief that if you just pushed a little harder, everything would fall into place.
You hadn’t seen Rook properly in days. Not because you didn’t miss him. You did, terribly. But every time he offered to help, you smiled tiredly and said “I’ve got it.” You hated feeling like a burden, hated the idea of dragging your overworked mess into his perfectly composed world. So you kept shrinking your needs, kept saying “later” kept promising yourself that once exams were over you’d make it up to him. Rook never complained. He only watched with those sharp eyes, soft concern hidden behind his smile.
Today you planned to collapse at your desk for one more hour of flashcards. Maybe two. Grim was already snoring somewhere in the lounge. You pushed open your bedroom door, dropped your bag, and headed straight for the desk. Only… the desk was empty. No towering stack of notes. No color coded flashcards. No textbooks splayed open. Just one bright yellow sticky note placed neatly in the center
“Follow the yellow arrows”
You blinked, exhaustion momentarily forgotten. “What…?”
Curiosity tugged you to the window. Outside, you noticed an arrow stuck into a tree trunk. A strip of bright yellow cloth was tied to it as well. Your heart gave a small, surprised flutter. You didn’t even think twice. Shoes still on, you slipped out the front door and jogged toward the tree. As you approached the arrow you noticed another yellow arrow deeper into the woods. You followed. Then another. Each one led you farther and deeper into the forest. The sunlight was softening, but the arrows were impossible to miss. The air grew sweeter, carrying the scent of fresh earth and blooming flowers. Your tired legs protested, but something lighter kept you moving. Anticipation. A tiny spark of joy you hadn’t felt in days.
The trees finally thinned. You stepped into a wide field bathed in golden spring sunshine. Wildflowers stretched in every direction in every colors soft pinks, sunny yellow, delicate purple. The field rolled gently, alive with color and the hum of bees. Golden light poured over everything, turning the petals almost translucent.
In the middle of it all, on a large blanket, sat Rook. He wore a light cream shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows. A picnic basket rested beside him, lid slightly open to reveal bright red strawberries, sliced peaches, and grapes. In his hands was his beloved camera. The moment you emerged from the trees, he lifted it. The shutter clicked softly. Your surprised expression, eyes wide, lips parted, hair slightly windswept, was captured forever in that single frame.
“Rook…?” you breathed, stepping closer through the flowers.
He lowered the camera slowly, that signature warm, adoring smile blooming across his face. “Bienvenue, mon amour. You found the path.”
You stopped a few steps away, still trying to process the scene. The exhaustion that had weighed on you all day felt suddenly distant, like someone had lifted it. “What is all this?” you asked.
Rook set the camera gently on the blanket and rose to his feet. He crossed the distance between you, hands reaching out to cup your face with infinite tenderness.
“This” he said quietly, thumbs brushing your cheeks “is an intervention of love. You have been running on empty. Studying until your eyes ache, working endless shifts at Sam’s shop, taking care of Grim, carrying the weight of an entire world on these shoulders…” His gaze softened. “I understand your pride. I admire how fiercely you manage things on your own. But seeing you neglect your own heart hurts me more than you know.”
You opened your mouth to protest, the familiar guilt rising. “But Grim… and my shift…”
Rook silenced you with the gentlest kiss on your forehead. “Already taken care of” he murmured. “Epel volunteered to watch over Grim. And Ruggie was more than happy to cover your shift at the shop. In exchange for a few favors, of course, but nothing you need worry about.”
He pulled back just enough to look into your eyes. “Now your only duty is to rest. To breathe.”
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes. The fight drained out of you all at once, leaving only grateful exhaustion and overwhelming love. “You did all this… for me?”
“Oui…” he whispered. “Always.” Before you could say anything else, Rook slipped one arm behind your knees and the other around your back, lifting you effortlessly into a bridal carry. You let out a small surprised laugh as he carried you the short distance to the blanket and set you down with care, like you were made of fragile porcelain. He settled beside you, long legs stretched out, and opened the picnic basket fully.
The scent of fresh fruit rose. He picked up a plump strawberry, held it to your lips with a playful little tilt of his head. “Open up, mon cœur.”
You obeyed, biting into the berry. Sweetness burst across your tongue, delicious. Rook’s eyes never left your face, drinking in every small reaction like it was the most exquisite sight in the world. He fed you another, then a slice of peach this time, then a few grapes, each one offered with the same patience. Between bites he would lean in and press soft kisses to your temple, your cheek, the corner of your mouth.
“You are glowing in this light” he murmured, reaching for his camera again. “Like the flowers themselves decided to crown you.”
Click. Another photo. Your cheeks flushed, a genuine smile breaking through the tiredness. “Rook, you’re going to fill an entire album with pictures of me.”
“An excellent plan” he said without shame. “I intend to document every moment you finally allow yourself to simply be.”
The sun dipped lower, bathing the field in gold light. You leaned against his side, head resting on his shoulder as he continued feeding you small bites and occasionally stealing a kiss when fruit juice lingered on your lips. His free arm stayed wrapped around you, fingers tracing slow, soothing circles on your arm. For the first time in weeks, your mind quieted. No flashcards. No shift schedules. No guilt. Just the warm of Rook’s body, the sweet taste of strawberries, the gentle rustle of flowers in the breeze, and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath your ear.
“You really took care of everything,” you whispered after a long, comfortable silence.
“Oui. Because you deserve to be taken care of too.” He tilted your chin up gently so he could look at you. “You are not a burden when you need rest. You are my greatest treasure. Letting me spoil you is not weakness, it is allowing me to love you the way I wish to.”
You felt your throat tighten with emotion. “I’m sorry I neglected you these past days.”
He shook his head, smiling softly. “You did not neglect me. You were simply carrying too much alone. Now… let me carry some of it.”
He pulled you fully into his lap, arms encircling you. You melted against him, letting the last of the day’s tension unravel in the safety of his embrace. Rook pressed a lingering kiss to the top of your head.
“Look,” he whispered.
You lifted your gaze. The field seemed to glow even brighter as the sun painted the sky in soft pinks and oranges. Flowers swayed like they were dancing just for the two of you. Rook’s voice was low and full of wonder. “Spring does not rush. It blooms in its own time. You are allowed to do the same.”
You turned in his arms and cupped his face, pulling him into a slow, sweet kiss that tasted of strawberries and gratitude. When you parted, you rested your forehead against his. “Thank you” you breathed. “For the arrows. For the picnic. For knowing exactly what I needed even when I wouldn’t admit it.”
His smile. “I will always find you, mon amour. Even when you try to hide behind work and duty. Especially then.”
The two of you stayed like that for a while. He fed you more fruit. He took dozens of photos, Every click of the shutter felt like a promise
I see you. I cherish you. Rest.
When the sky finally deepened Rook packed the basket with the same careful grace he’d unpacked it. He helped you to your feet, then surprised you by lifting you again refusing to let your tired legs carry you back.
“I can walk!” you protested weakly, though you were already looping your arms around his neck.
“You can” he agreed cheerfully. “But tonight you will not. Tonight you are carried.”
You laughed and hid your face in his shoulder. As he walked you back through the woods he hummed a melody under his breath.
“Tomorrow is yours as well,” he said softly. “No shop. No desperate studying. Only rest, and me, and whatever small joys you wish.”
You smiled. “Stay with me tonight?”
His eyes sparkled. “As if I could be parted from you after such a perfect day.”
The exhaustion that had ruled your life for weeks felt distant and manageable. You had been reminded that you didn’t have to do everything alone. And that being loved didn’t mean being smaller. It meant letting someone carry you when you needed it most, and trusting that the flowers would still bloom even if you paused to enjoy them.
contrary to popular belief, in the face true beauty Rook is quite flustered
Papers upon papers stacked high as if reaching for the clouds, some in envelopes yet never delivered, because Rook can’t bring himself too. The thought of you alone has the blonde feeling something utterly out of character, he feels…shy. The curve of your lips to the flutter of your eyelashes, everything about you is Une beauté sans pareille that has words swirling through his head yet his jaw screwed shut. Mon Dieu you were a problem yet one he does not wish to solve. He felt that he wanted to spend his life looking at the numbers, learning the formulas, learning you.
Vil has never quite seen his vice house warden act so peculiar. For a man as strange as him the absence of his usual eccentricism is even stranger. The man has such flowery french words and bold behavior of awe for all that he finds beautiful which is quite a alot of things, so why is it that he has gone as stiff as stone around you recently? It was uncanny hands stuck to his sides, back pin straight, lips pursed, and cheeks…flushed..? Oh…oh seven help him.
You’ve found an odd amount of flowers on your doorstep recently, it seems a waste to let such pretty things die in the cold dark of ramshackle without a single use so you’ve taken to wearing them on your person, its proven to be quite a nice way to spruce up the worn out uniform Crowley gave you. Yet whenever Vil spots them he simply sighs without a word, and his vice warden ever the quiet man (despite the odd looks you get when you describe him in such a way) simply mumbles something French under his breath before hiding the bottom half of his face in his hand and turning his head in the other direction. (Even if his eyes go back to stare at you once you turn away) Perhaps he should invest in some sunscreen for the red creeping up his neck you wonder.
“Rook you’ve never once acted so shyly in the face of beauty, why don’t you put us all out of our misery and just talk to her for sevens sake” Vil said exasperated, Rook could only look longingly out the window, face resting on his hands “Leur beauté est tout simplement trop intense, Roi du poison.” He sighed a pink once again taking hold of his cheeks “I’m too…Nervous”
