Because your body wasn’t designed with chairs in mind, it wasn’t designed at all, you just happen to be descended from a lineage of vertebrates whose lifestyles involved a lot of walking, crouching, reaching, climbing, etc, and carrying your weight by remaining pressed by gravity against a solid, if comfortable, surface, rather than through your legs and feet, for the majority of Existence, has only been an available option for a few hundred years, barely anything at all against the 50 million it’s been since we climbed down out of the trees and started slinging our babies to our backs.
