Then time passes (the sand clock) and she founds herself dressed all luxurious (this scene is obviously a reference to that one scene from blank space)

but the way she’s dressed as a rich housewife and the fact that she is with her cat could represent spending the pandemic trapped in her house (when she wrote folklore and evermore)

Next time we see Taylor she’s climbing up a pyramid, all bejeweled and fabulous, because the midnights era comes at her most successful time in her career

Then the bridge

We see Taylor inside a lightbulb, she’s holding her own light and, even if the light twinkles, it never turns off. This is as she sings “tell me why so many fade, but I’m still here”.

She keeps going to the point where her career explodes (again, with the most successful tour, which makes her one of the greatest music artists ever)

Once she’s exploded we see she’s at peace in paradise

Then, in this lover reference, she’s exploring the sea in paradise hoping to see where karma takes her next

(Btw, notice the half heart she makes with the oar?)

THEN we come back to the room AND WE SEE THIS

Between the 1989 and rep nails we see MIDNIGHTS, the album where karma is BUT also where karma would’ve should’ve could’ve been

She then comes back to the piano to write a song about all this with our dearest Jack… which will be called karma

At this point the only thing I want in life is to know if I’m delusional or this is somewhat close to her intention

We see that she’s listening to a song that inspires a lot of memories… and suddenly she takes us back to a chapter of her life: 1989 (we already know that’s what’s written in the podium)

At this moment in her career the odds are in her favor (the balance), she seems an untouchable goddess. The arcs around her represent the era she’s in, and we see in the back another set of arcs, which could be her next era… like first we’re in 1989 and then, if we could’ve kept going on, the next album (set of arcs) would’ve been karma CAUSE IT’S LITERALLY WRITTEN THERE

But we never got to see that, WHY??:

then, the balance changes as so do we, from heaven to hell

she’s now seen as the devil (as the odds changed against her favor in the public eye). We can even see a hidden snake. This obviously represents rep

When she takes the mask off we see that she’s the same Taylor and says “hi” to us.

She is also dressed in Versace, whose logo is Medusa, a goddess known for having SNAKES as hair, more on this:

Medusa was seen for centuries as a monster used to hurt people, but there’s another interpretation that says she was a beautiful woman cursed with snakes on her head just for falling in love

We arrive to Lover. Taylor is this “trouble-less” path of happiness and colors, and from there she salutes the demons that didn’t follow that path and judge her for doing it

Also, THIS IS IN A BOOK, meaning that this video is telling a story (hers)…

I feel like I knew which songs she was talking about right away... did you?

I also think this love triangle story is kind of based in her Rhode Island home, which is known as the “Holiday House” (aka 🤎the last great American dynasty🤎)

This house was owned by this woman right here (who actually had a “mad woman” reputation)... Betty

There are many references to this woman in the song

The visuals from the lyric video seem to have been taken from her RI house, actually from the garden... Betty’s garden

So i feel like maybe she‘s been spending the isolation there and she imagined this love triangle based on the people who once lived there (Betty is the main character of course)
