Are you knitting for the rainbow zebra knit a long?

I hear you have interest in being an honorary rainbow zebra. But achieving such awesomeness does not come without a price!

Starting soon, there shall be a knit a long called the Rainbow Zebras for Lupus and all participants shall be honorary rainbow zebras! When we start, everyone will knit a shawl (because rainbow zebras like shawls for their delicate skin.) Once it is completed, your shawl will be sold and all of the profits shall go to the Lupus Foundation of America! There is no limit to the amount of shawls you knit and ObliviousKnits (on Twitter) has even offered to let us use her own beautiful patterns (found here- http://www.ravelry.com/stores/obliviousknits-by-deborah-glaser) for this knit a long! If you have another pattern you'd like to use, make sure you have the designer's permission first (and let them know what it is for!)

I have discoid lupus. Which is a rare form of lupus which attacks the skin and creates lesions. I’ve been living with this disease for a few years now. Recently, I became aware of the fact that I also have Tumid lupus (which is an even rarer form of discoid lupus) and with that, the habit of calling me a Rainbow Zebra was born. Because not only am I rare, but I’m extraordinarily rare for having the tumid lupus with the discoid! So this Knit A Long is particularly close to my heart!
