“Ohh! You are being so immature right now!” Nevermind the fact that she was unfortunately baited into reaching for the envelope when it was dangled towards her more than once.

Then she crossed her arms with a huff, defeated.

“Why are you so..? You're really such a jerk sometimes, y'know?” she grumbled.

“psh immature? Wow you really can’t handle a bit of teasing.”

he smacked her on the head with the envelope, “there’s no note, you can open it to confirm.”

“...Thank you,” she finally says, not forgetting her manners even considering who she was talking to. Though she hesitates to open it… She squints at him.

You see, as much fun as it is to play the role of comic relief, the real fun comes from knowing he's foiling Rag's plans. She always has to be Mrs. High and Mighty, Mrs. Positive outlook. It's disgusting. Jax can't stand the way she plasters on a winning grin and tries to take the moral high ground and make everything better, all the time. The longer she's stuck in here with him, the less time she's got out there with Pomni, trying to trick her into believing he's using her, or . . . whatever she thinks it is that he's doing.

All at once, his smirk returns in full force, and Jax shines his flashlight at his face to make sure she can see it when he returns a stout "No." in answer to her question. One of the only benefits to the stupid rabbit avatar he's stuck in is improved hearing, which allows him to hear the muttered comment from halfway across the cave.

Jax's grin turns predatory as he sits himself on a nearby rock. "Ouch. You mean it isn't your life's dream to be trapped in a cave with me, Rags? That's hurtful. Now you've gone and hurt my feelings."

So, she ignores his biting sarcasm and instead taps into her own characteristic optimism.

“Well, this isn't so bad. I mean, it could definitely be worse, and it's sort of like an adventure in itself!” She almost wondered who she was trying to convince more between Jax and herself… “Now, we just have to keep calm and focus and I’m sure we'll find a new way out in no time.”
