Think I’m delusional? In denial? IDGAF!

You don’t just kill a key supporting character offscreen and expect me to accept it. That’s not how I watch television.

I’m not spiraling, and I’m not feeding into the noise of this fandom.

Fifteen pages of the final script weren’t redacted for no reason. And the fact that even the cast doesn’t know how it ends? That’s not typical. That suggests a reveal.

i see your pain. i’ve been reading every comment under my videos, and i know how hard this is to watch right now. but let me explain why i’m not worried at all — and why the things said by the side characters are not the ultimate truth.

this is a classic writing technique. when secondary characters say things like “he’s a fucking nazi” it’s not objective truth — it’s perspective. it’s designed to create emotional conflict and tension. it’s drama.

june’s mother is a radical activist — of course she would call a commander a monster. luke is insecure and deeply jealous — of course he lashes out. lawrence is a manipulator who only says what benefits him at the moment. none of them are reliable narrators. they are all reacting from their own damage and worldview.

but we know what’s real. we’ve seen what nick has done for june. we’ve seen how careful the writers are with his arc — how they never show him doing anything unforgivable, even in this so-called betrayal. even now, he’s still soft with her, still honest, still letting her go with love.

and honestly? i love this device. it gives me the best material for edits. i love putting scenes side by side — someone calling him a monster, and then we cut to nick being the gentlest, most loyal person in her life. it’s storytelling through contrast

so please, don’t take their words as truth.

It doesn’t mean Nick is canceled. That doesn’t mean he’s “revealed” as the bad guy. it means the walls are closing in. It means everyone has something to say about June’s love — and that’s the point.

I think it’s important to remember that Elisabeth Moss is describing June’s emotional state in the moment — not necessarily the final destination of Nick and June’s relationship.

Right now, June feels hurt and betrayed. She’s reacting based on what she thinks happened, based on limited information and perception. Of course she’s angry — that’s part of the emotional tension the writers want us to feel mid-season.

But no one — not Bruce Miller, not Yalin Chang, not even Lizzie — has said that Nick and June are over. In fact, Bruce has made it clear he still wants both June and the audience to stay on Team Nick, even if we’re frustrated.

This is just part of the journey.

The betrayal is real emotionally — but it’s also built on misunderstanding, incomplete knowledge, and deep love that hasn’t gone away.

I’m staying grounded. Nick didn’t give June up. He didn’t stop loving her. And the story they’ve been telling us for six seasons doesn’t just end here.

After going through Max’s section of the press kit, I decided to revisit Lizzie’s part and read it all the way through. The first time, I was too caught up in all the Serena stuff to really absorb it. But after reading it again, I realized many of us were so focused on the betrayal that we overlooked the following key point.

“Over the course of the series, June becomes a completely new person, a person who does find her voice, an angry voice, a powerful voice. She’s a different person than she was. A lot of the romance with Nick is because of that. They are two people who understand and share the burden of Gilead’s tyranny. By Season Six, June evolves into somebody who is stronger, angrier, smarter.”

This quote from Elisabeth Moss is rich with meaning. Let’s break it down and get to the heart of what she’s saying, especially that line: “A lot of the romance with Nick is because of that.”

My interpretation of what Lizzie is saying overall:

She’s reflecting on how June has transformed throughout the series. At the beginning, June was trying to survive in silence. But over time—through everything she endured—she became someone who found her voice, someone unafraid to express her anger and take action. She’s no longer the woman who fit neatly into her old life. She’s someone hardened, sharpened, and made fierce by trauma and resistance.

“A lot of the romance with Nick is because of that.”

This is the key line, and it’s incredibly telling.

What I think Lizzie means here is that Nick loves the woman June has become—not in spite of her rage or fire, but because of it. Their bond isn’t rooted in who June used to be; it’s rooted in who she is now. Their romance thrives not on fantasy or nostalgia, but on shared trauma, shared rebellion, and deep mutual understanding.

Nick has seen the darkest parts of June’s journey. He’s not intimidated by her anger, her power, or her ruthlessness—he gets it, because he carries the same weight. That’s what Lizzie means when she says, “They are two people who understand and share the burden of Gilead’s tyranny.” Their love is forged in the same fire. It’s not a fairytale—it’s real and complex and born out of surviving hell together.

Why it matters:

In my opinion, this statement highlights that Nick and June’s romance isn’t about convenience or clinging to the past. It’s about emotional alignment in the present. June’s evolution into someone stronger and angrier doesn’t push Nick away—it deepens their connection. That’s why their love story is so compelling—it evolves as they do.

So when Lizzie says “a lot of the romance with Nick is because of that,” she’s affirming that Nick is the person who loves June as she truly is now, not the woman she once was. And that makes their connection not just passionate—but enduring.

It’s a powerful confirmation that their bond is not only still relevant in Season 6—it’s more meaningful than ever.

“Love Isn’t Clouding Her Judgment Anymore” – A Reflection on Devoted (S6E3)

My heart broke for Nick in this scene.

Season 6, Episode 3 (“Devoted”) was an emotional gut punch—but not just because of what was said. It was because of what wasn’t. As someone who pays close attention to the emotional undercurrents of this show, I found myself especially focused on what June didn’t say—specifically when it came to Luke.

Nick pours his heart out, and we hear him say it all: “Do you even know what it’s like being in love with you?” and “That’s how I feel about you. I only feel that way about you.” He’s emotionally raw, painfully vulnerable. And in return, June never tells him to stop. She never denies her feelings for him. In fact, when she slips and says “loved,” she corrects herself: “Love.”

But what about Luke?

June says, “He waited for me, Nick. For years.”

That’s it.

She doesn’t say she loves him. She doesn’t say “I chose him because I love him.” She says she chose him because he waited. And that says everything.

It reminded me of something Lizzie said in the press kit:

“June isn’t letting love cloud her judgment anymore.”

That quote is linked to the betrayal arc, and maybe it’s about Nick—but I think it applies to Luke, too. Because in this moment, June is thinking clearly. She’s not speaking from fantasy, or desire. She’s grounded in obligation, history, and guilt. Her justification for staying with Luke isn’t rooted in present-day emotion—it’s based on what he did for her in the past.

And the heartbreaking part? She says, “I had you. I loved you.” That past tense is what stuns Nick. But then she switches: “Love.” That one word undoing all the emotional distance she tried to build.

So while this scene might have looked like a confrontation or a goodbye, I see it as something else entirely: a truth-telling. A moment where Nick lays everything bare—and June, though emotionally torn, reveals more in her silence than she does in her words.

She doesn’t love Luke the way she loves Nick.

She doesn’t even claim to.

That is not love, that is obligation. It is not a reason to be with someone. Waiting does not make Luke special or "deserving" of June. And yet so many treat him like he's a saint for it, June included. She is always so insecure and apologetic around Luke and it's exhausting to see this play out as a viewer for half of season 4, all of season 5, and now the beginning of season 6. It is not empowering or entertaining to watch a woman push aside her own wants and needs to settle for a man praised for the supposed self-sacrificing act of waiting.

Nick's pained expression really got me there too- he wishes that he could wait, he would wait for her for years, forever, even. When he knew he was in love with June and began a relationship with her back at the very beginning of their love story, he ended his dalliance with Beth immediately, signalling his devotion to her. He feels hurt by June's implications that Luke is a better man than him because he waited for her and Nick didn't. But he can't wait for her or be devoted only to her. He doesn't have the freedom to make that choice. He lives in Gilead and must marry someone he doesn't love and must produce a child that he doesn't want. It was easy for Luke to wait. He didn't have to do anything or compromise anything, all he had to do was exist. He had the freedom to wait or to not wait, and in the fog of his depression, passively did nothing for 7 years. Meanwhile in order to preserve his own life, in order to be able to remain in Gilead and keep an Eye on Hannah, Nick had to actively marry someone.

So, admittedly, it's a little difficult for me to talk about Osblaine when that spoiler of Nick betraying June and her being blinded by love kind of looms over their interactions because I can't be too confident in the conclusions I draw until this apparent betrayal and its fallout happens. That being said, let's get into it.

I love this episode for Nick and June because I think it speaks to the staying power of their bond on June's end and more interestingly, she communicates that to Nick.

Throughout the series, the viewer can see it physically, the way she smiles when she hears his voice

or, like in this episode when she hears him approaching

the other characters see it just by watching her with him or listening to her speak about him

Holly sees it after hearing June speak about Nick and seeing how she acts about Nick once but Nick is left with

and throughout five seasons, he never let June see how it must be for him to have this love for her that is like a state of being, and feel as though that's not reciprocated because that's not Nick but in this episode, he's having this sort of reckoning with how impulsive and reckless he acts and kind of bizarre the situation is

because he loves someone who chose someone else and who he's nothing to

only for her to be like, no we're in this together

this feeling

is very much mutual, I have never left you, I have always been here with you

and it's also her answering the question her mother asked in 6x02 where she asks point blank, is Nick included in the people that you love and June can't bring herself to answer what is pretty clear to anyone with some modicum of awareness and she's answering that question verbally now to Nick who is asking the same question, and she confirms it again when they say goodbye where she tells him, let's cut the bullshit,

let's stop saying the right, honourable thing with our goodbyes

because it's never going to be goodbye because I love you

we will always be connected, I will see you again

and I say this because, the response to Nick's conflict could've been June saying I've been unfair to you, thank you for everything that you have done for me, I will leave you in peace now, but she refuses to do that because she's in love with him and they depart with a smile, their smile

so this episode is yet another reaffirmation of her love for him.

Another thing that I quite enjoy about this episode is how it showcases that Nick and June operate on this level together

where there's a kind of "we need to protect them, they're not like us" vibe

kind of going back to what Elisabeth said about June's character:

and I think this is further compounded by - and this isn't to shit on Luke or anything - but his attempt to be active and it going disastrously and June and Nick being the ones to get him out and doing so together.

June holds on to Luke when the patrol car comes and her instinct is to protect him

she holds onto Nick after he did what he had to to continue that protection and she goes to him for comfort after the shock

I don't know, I watched this episode and I just saw how these two characters were very much in love.

I wondered what the anti Daemyra would say to make it seem like the couple still weren't in love with each other. And what's come out of it so far is truly pitiful.

" Dude why are Daemyra Shippers so convinced Rhaenyra loves Daemon? Like have they missed the fact that Rhaenyra has admitted that she loved both Harwin and Laenor. And if you count Episode 8 she has now said she loved Laenor 3 times when she told Rhaenys she didn’t kill Laenor. I honestly believe that if Rhaenyra hadn’t been so worried about the throne that she wouldn’t have married Daemon and would have remained married to Laenor. She may also even love Alicent as she was willing to leave Daemon at the end of Episode 8 to go back to Kings Landing to see her.

Shippers don’t want to see Deamyra for what is deep down - a political arrangement with perhaps some benefits. Like the proposal scene couldn’t have been more political. No mention of love, just talk of old rulers and power, you get the idea. And yes Daemon and Rhaenyra had kids but you could argue that that they did that so that they could marry off their sons to make more political attachments. Also if you really look at Rhaenyra in Episode 8 she is often keeping her distance from Daemon. The only times she is near Daemon is when it has to be seen/ a political stance. Meeting Viserys, meeting Alicent and the dinner table, they put on a show of unity. But when Rhaenyra sees her father, goes to talk about her love for Laenor to Rhaenys, it is just her. 

So Daemyra love is not canon. But good news for Leanor and Harwin cause those ships are. "

Seriously, other than making people laugh I don't know what else it's supposed to do? Is this a joke maybe?

Also, Rhaenyra never said she loved Hawrin, (romantically) just that she trusted him and found joy in his arms and it felt good to be wanted. Well, tencically if, when she told Daemon that those they loved had perished in the fires… Like that didn't serve to put Daemyra in parallel? Rhaenyra loved Harwin, sure, but that doesn't mean she was in love with him.

Rhaenyra loves Laenor, yes, but not romantically. He's gay, damn it. They really need to stop acting like Rhaenyra had fallen in love with him!

They also seem to purposely forget that Rhaenyra said she was alone without Daemon and that her life had become a tragedy without him…

Another important clarification, two characters in love do not necessarily need to tell each other that they love each other for us to see it, or to believe it.

Ah and the only times Rhaenyra is close to Daemon is a public charade for political reasons, otherwise she is distant from him? Like when Daemon tenderly caressed her belly when they were alone? Like when Rhaenyra took Daemon's arm and stroked it gently in front of a half-conscious Viserys who must not even have noticed the gesture? Like when they held hands before Alicent walked into the room? Like when Daemon and Rhaenyra always stand close together, in public or not? The fact that Daemon beheaded Vaemond himself for calling Rhaenyra's children a bastard and Rhaenyra herself a whore? The point of Daemon reacting in such an extreme way if he didn't like Rhaenyra? No because in any case Viserys would have punished him, we know that. Not to mention their closeness and their joy during dinner, which it is stupid to call political, precisely because they seem the same in private? They just act like a married couple in love.

Seriously, Daemon and Rhaenyra have been looking for each other the whole series. They were also constantly put in parallel, even when they were not together in episodes 3 and 6. Their reunion was not bestial sex, but tender. To say that it was just ass for ass is bullshit, just enough to compare with Mysaria.

I could say a million other things, but really, just read this:

“Daemon and Rhaenyra — they're together at the beginning of my episode. Part of the thing that we felt was important was to believe that they were in love with each other. And not just believe it, but feel the electricity. I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I am very much in love with my husband, and I still have a crush on him. And when I see him, I still get chills. And I wanted to see that, I wanted to feel that from them. Because this was a delicate fleeting moment, as you know having seen the episode. We needed to feel the realism of that. And so the two of them [Matt and Emma] had a lot of conversations — even without me — where they were building their relationship, and building the chemistry. So I was really pleased when we got to shooting their first scene together, where Rhaenyra says ‘I need to go back home’ — just the way he looked at her…I just love that.”
