As an avid Tony Stark lover, I feel like the world has finally shifted on its axis and sees what I’ve been saying for years:

irondad is a fun, interesting concept that is 90% fanon. It does not exist in canon to the extent that it does in fanfiction and MOST fanfiction of this fun, interesting concept actively made it WORSE in diluting it to a bland, fluffy, father-son dynamic.

if it had been ANY OTHER PERSON that had treated Peter like Tony had in HOCO— that person would be unequivocally seen as the villain of Peter’s life. Case in point: Norman Osborn in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man who wasn’t HALF as bad as Tony (who blackmailed Peter AND ghosted him AND berated him after ghosting, taking his suit away and coming back to offer the AVENGERS to him)

(Like if you’re Tony Stark-pilled, you see and understand his trauma but PETER DOES NOT KNOW THAT. PETER WAS FIFTEEN.)

Tony is indirectly, if not directly responsible for every bad thing that happened to him— especially Mysterio, who only targeted Peter because Tony decided to give DRONE GLASSES to a sixteen-year old after his death (and with presumably no directions or connection beyond this)

People go too far and say Tony didn’t mean anything to Peter but that’s factually untrue. He DID. But to what extent is up for debate and having bnd prove so wholeheartedly that it’s May who is and forever will be THEE most important parental figure in his life is so fucking vindicating.

peter parker and his care for everybody- his family, his friends, people he has never met, people who have continually tried to hurt him.
