#toolsofthetrade I bought this stunning late 19th Century « nécessaire » at a Paris flea market several years ago. While the gorgeous scissors don’t cut as well as I’d like, the thimble is near perfection. It’s a bit of a risk as its previous owner used it so much that there are two holes in the tip, but it fits so much better than any modern thimble. The needle case also keeps a petite bodkin, should I need to thread some ribbon through something. So much more elegant than a safety pin. This lovely client picked up her new Posture Harness today. I love the joy you can see in her eyes! I took the pattern from an original from the early 1900s. I’ve had that piece in my collection for decades. We’ve offered them for quite awhile, but they really need to be fitted in person, so we don’t offer them on the website.
