"Oh. Well, I haven’t been in many others.." she shrugged. It was probably a while ago, considering her recent one had been with Ella. It was gonna be that way a while, she’d signed a two year contract as her backup dancer, and after that she was quitting to focus on her studio. Things would be steadier, and Sofia wouldn’t get dragged around so much. "I’m blonder, less stupid, and I have offspring; that’s about it." She finished the last of her cup before chuckling. "Well," she checked her watch before looking back up, "I’ve got to get to the studio in about twenty minutes for morning sessions.. I’m sure you have places to be, too, so.. I’ll see you soon?" She said the last bit with unexpected hope. She hadn’t realized how much she actually missed her girl best friend. 

Cate laughed. "Yeah, you are a b-bit blonder." she agreed. She looked down at her watch when Avery spoke, and nodded. "Uh...Y-yeah. Errands to run..." she lied. The only thing she really had to do was to go home. Perhaps she'd watch some netflix as she searched for a new apartment. Either way, she was hoping that she would see her ex-girlfriend soon. "Have uh...you k-know, a good d-day at work...S-say hi to S-sofia for me." she said, standing up as they both got ready to leave. "You know w-where to find me..If you w-want to do c-coffee again o-or...s-something."

Treacherous || Avery & Cate

She furrowed her brows, surprised. “You went to a concert? Was it one of Ella’s?” She couldn’t imagine her lost in one of the many noisy crowds she’d seen over the past few years. Then again, maybe she didn’t know as much as she used to about Cate. “I knew that, I think. It’s weird, not remembering some things.” She sighed, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms. They’d gone a strong nine months during her year at NYU. But of course, she left for dance school the next year, and met Brandon. After everything that happened with him, all she wanted to do was focus on her job and Sofia, and occasionally worry about Landon. But the entire month was a reunion with what seemed like every one of her exes, and she didn’t have the tiniest idea what to do about it but accept it.

Cate nodded. "I uh...Do-don't remember. I don't think s-so." Cate had been so hammered it was a miracle she even remembered Avery was in it. She had saw her name for the concert, and bought tickets, but was so nervous that she drank an entire bottle of vodka before the show. She was pretty sure she had crowd surfed. "Um, yeah. It's uh...Also w-weird to uh...Not k-know things about you. After k-knowing everything..." she laughed slightly. When Cate and Avery started dating, Alcohol hadn't been a real problem. She mostly didn't drink because she knew she could easily become addicted because of her parents. It was only after Avery for a month that Cate started to drink. She wanted to be a better person for her girlfriend, and she knew that she could only do that if she was drunk. Avery had found out so Cate had to hide it. It was one of the reasons that they offically broke up from what Cate could remember.

"It’s a nice contrast to keeping up with tours and stuff." It was a part of her dream to someday teach people that were willing to learn her passion. Sort of like watching a mirror, and the studio itself reminded her of the same one she’d practiced in. "Thanks. The library, though. How’s that? Doesn’t the silence bother you?" She shook her head. "No.. no, it’s fine. I’m- we’re friends, and I do talk to him, so." She sighed. It shouldn’t have felt like such a fuss to talk about him and hear his name. 

Cate nodded. "I...I heard about that...You touring I mean...I uh...S-Saw you once." she admitted. She looked up, and shook her head. "The s-silence? No...I mean, s-sometimes it's n-nice... Not h-having to talk very much...It's only h-hard when I g-go home and it's quiet..." that was when she normally drank. To get rid of the silence. It was the only time she would go see her parents, because they always had some sort of party going on. She took another drink, chewing on her straw nervously.

"Yeah. And puddle jumping.. and ice cream." She laughed with her, mixing her drink with the small straw absentmindedly. "It is, and the best part is that it’s my job- I get paid for doing something I love to do." She still couldn’t believe she’d gotten as far as she did. The hype about Ella Camden’s longtime friend and backup dancer was enough to bring in more students than she needed. “Oh, well there’s not really an age limit set, because kids learn to walk at different times. So as long as they’re balanced on their feet, I’m open to teach any little tikes.” She gave a smile.

 Cate smiled. "That's great Ave. It s-sounds perfect for y-you." it was true. Cate always figured that Avery would be some kind of dancer, and seeing her as a teacher made sense as well. "You're doing g-great for yourself. And you l-look amazing." she took another sip of her water. "Who do you k-keep up with f-from Monarch? Do you t-talk to Ace at a-all?"  she asked, before realizing that probably wasn't a good thing to mention. "S-sorry...That w-wasn't appropriate..."
