HEYYY ML I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR WORK ! MY NEW FAV HAS TO BE HYPNOTIC DATA ! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT UPLOAD ! BTW DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR UPCOMING WRITIERS ? ( im a upcoming writer😼😼)
OH MY GOSH!! thank you!! i ssriously didnt expect hypnotic data to get so hype i thought i'd get like.. 70 notes if i got lucky with the tags..
as for tips, i can give you some for your layouts and how to decorate your profile! (im not sure how to give tips on writing, since everyone thinks and expresses differently, but i'll try for other factors!)
gradient coloured texts
if this kind of colouring is what you're interested in having (instead of tumblr's bright neon ones), you can just go to this website! me personally it's what i use for when i want colourings like that, but there are much more out there if it isn't what you're looking for
the website is so easy to use, which is what i love about it, pretty self explanatory and easy to navigate. but when you're inserting it into tumblr, you'll have to do it on the web version!
create a new post and press on the settings button at the top right corner, look for text editor and switch to html format, then paste in the html from the website, go back to rich text and there it is!
don't forget to bolden the coloured text to strengthen the colour, it looks much more coloured when you do it, but to each their own!
i'm sure there are most likely more easier ways to do this, but this is how i do it.. so..😭
꒰ decorating your profile! ୨ৎ
now this is the part where i can't.. really give you much advice on too, its all up to you on how you'd like to make your layout, but i'll give you some websites and apps to find things to decorate your blog with <3!
pinterest - literally holy grail for icons and for pictures you think would fit your theme, it has everything you'll need for basic aesthetics. you can search up pinterest keywords to find certain themes if you can't find anything that matches your ideas (e.g if you're looking for those longer horizontal pictures, use words like "header" and "banner")
tumblr - i know you might be wondering why we'd be on the app, but PLEASE trust me when i say that tumblr holds the number 1 spot for finding dividers and graphics. pinterest is sort of hit or miss for me with dividers, so just search for them here, and dont forget to leave credit for the creators should they ask!
lingojam - is heaven if you're thinking the font in tumblr is too boring for your idea, there are alot of good cursive and bold fonts there. (if some of them appear as a question mark with a diamond, unfortunately the app doesn't accept the font and chickens out, it sucks)
aesthetic symbols - this website is genuinely my goat, tons and TONS of cute symbols that help make your blog look a little less boring. all those cute emoji combos and symbols you see? they're all there
canva - aesthetic aesthetic aesthetic, aesthetic everything. there are so many good fonts and graphics ready to use, and many free templates you can toy around with till you find the perfect match!
ibis paint - if nothing you find fits the exact image you're trying to look for, you can always make it yourself on ibis paint! experiment with icons and dividers from pinterest, or maybe start from scratch entirely. it's worth a shot if you've got nothing left to try
˗ˏˋ ꒰ smaus (social media au)
my personal favourites to make! if you're ever interested in making one, the apps i would suggest would be memi message for texts, and twinote for twitter threads
both apps are free, and super easy to use! memi can lag and crash at times for no reason at all, and im pretty sure it requires signing up too (?) but other than that it should run smoothly
writing 。 . ⊹˚.⋆
for writing, i'm not gonna dive too deep with it, as i really believe your writing is finely tuned with who you are as a person and how you think (ok socrates)
for me personally, i like to really imagine that i'm in the scenario that i plan to write. i like to lie down in the dark while listening to music that fits well with the narrative, then i simply let my mind wander about how it would feel to literally be in the plot.
you don't have to be sobbing or super joyful when doing it, just feel, try to induce the same heartache you'd feel if this happened to you, or try to create the idea of feeling so happy from this moment.
if it helps, you can also talk while doing it too, sometimes i do it..😭 talking to yourself may help you plan the layout of the story and how you'd like to portray the characters. do they speak in slang? perfect english? barely fluent? what are their quirks in talking?
if you're weirded out by that idea, you can settle with just imagining everything, no need to get all emotional

and that marks the end of all the tips i have! if you were more interested in how to write better/improve, i feel as though that's more related to simply practicing and honing your own talent. like i said, it's not really my place to tell you how to think, write when you feel like it and don't rush! good luck girl!!
