- i see him as the type of guy to always make sure to come home for new years, so if you're gonna spend it with him, it'll be with his family for sure.

- isagi's already introduced you, and they freaking love you. insists you must come over for every holiday now and he's just there protesting with an embarrassed "mom..!"

- they're reasonable enough to give you guys your alone time though

- which for some reason just makes him more nervous, leaving you both sitting on his bed awkward as hell until his parents call you both down for the food

- speaking of food.. you find yourself really considering her offer to come over more often, 10/10 cooking and 10/10 boyfriend life is complete🤍🤍

- you guys got roped into a competitive game of charades, and it got really heated to the point you were about to punch isagi for not understanding the gestures you were doing

- while waiting for midnight you spend some of the hours exchanging embarrassing stories of isagi with his mom at the dining table

- ten minutes before midnight isagi makes sure to stay glued to you, no distractions, and no missing out anything special.

- he gently redirects you outside because he is ITCHINGG for that perfect kiss when it's midnight.

- the fireworks start and he pulls you in a little too excited, prompting you to push him back before giggling, only to pull him right back in

- new years kiss? yes, definitely, for sure. that's why he's made sure to stay right next to you, ready for that special little peck beneath the colours grazing the sky

- unfortunately, with how sae's fans could get, your ideas of going to any kind of festival for new years of some sort has long been squashed

- it's ok at least he's all yours for that night !!

- definitely had to do some sort of meeting with another sponsor so he just.. shuts his phone and keeps his peace

- he can deal with an angry shoe brand, what he cannot deal with, is your quiet disappointment he wouldn't be there

- new years with sae is quiet. it's not tense or uncomfortable, but instead.. peaceful. like a moment to breathe with the one he loves most

- you play a variety of board games with sae to pass the time (since you insist on staying up till midnight of course) and you genuinely still hate him for that ice penguin game

‐ waiting for you to post yourself so he can like it first.. he sees you with that happy new year head band, the glowing look on your face. where's the instagram story??

‐ when you hear the first crackle of fireworks cast a minute too early, you rush out to the sliding door of his oddly spacious balcony. him following behind you like a duckling

- "sae! look!" you point to the glowing colours beside the stars, a smile tugging your lips as he steps to stand beside you. admiring the way your skin catches the wide variety of colours

- "isn't it beautiful?" you hum, too focused on the fireworks to even notice he's not even looking at them

‐ "mm.. yeah, beautiful" he murmurs, definitely not talking about fireworks.

- new years kiss? not quite.. he doesn't do it on midnight, but he does do it when all the fireworks die down. parting from your lips only to whisper a low "happy new year, mi amor" to you, only for you.

- new years with rin is spent frolicking in the night market you kind of had to drag him to

- most of the night is spent eating street food and arguing with vendors about prices, rin is a surprisingly good haggler for how anti people he is

- you found a seller who sold fake ugly labubus and you begged rin to get you one for fun😭

- definitely made him record you unboxing it and it had him questioning why he chose to spend the night like this.

- FIT CHECKS!! like you know those basic couple fit check transtions, boy were you prepared for this 6 months ago. this was going to be perfect no matter what.

- you and rin have to take alot of retakes because he's either too stiff or looks like he actually doesn't wanna be there

- rin has a secret plan to make a video of him kissing you right when the fireworks go off, he's tried observing and asking around for when they'll shoot up.

- when the time is right, he'll awkwardly ask you to redo this one video, and you agree.. but wasn't this take already good enough?

- bro you were NOT prepared, mid way through doing the gestures you had taught rin he just pulls you in by your waist for a kiss. a gentle hand on your cheek as a burst of colours decorate the background in perfect timing

- you pull away with wide eyes before noticing your phone did indeed capture all that, and you play it over and over and over– it's perfect.

- "happy new years, now can we go home?" he tugs at your arm, a slight, very faint smile on his own lips at the sight of you dazed by the video now on loop.

- new years kiss? surprisingly... yes?? he might be the better brother with this one...

- you somehow managed to convince him to not go all out on the celebration, insisting that you didn't need all that for a perfect new year

- so.. you choose to spend it with him in the park!

- it's nothing extravagant, just a small picnic on some tiny hill in the park, laying down on the mat and staring into the orangey sunset.

- you chase each other through the greenery, go through most of the playground till the night grows darker– you're glad this is open 24/7 for new years.

- there are a few vendors who set up, but you sort of need to yank reo back by the shirt, for all his financial intelligence this boy had a spending problem.

- "but! [name] come on you can't tell me those matching keychains aren't cute."

- "reo, we have like.. enough."

- you guys got yourself dizzy on the merry go round at least three times

- and also.. may or may not have made a kid cry by sitting yourselves on the swing an hour too long. yet despite all this chaos and nonsense, reo finds himself more relaxed than he would be at some loud party.

- the only thing you let reo buy were these spark thingies on a stick, man what even were they? all he could look at was how warm they glowed all over your face

- the fireworks roll while he's laid down on the bare grass right next to you, fingers interlocked and gazes set straight onto each other

- and it's in that moment that reo sees, for all his money, name, and talent– they could never bring back this blissful moment with you.

‐ you and your perfect smile, while colours bounced off of you in harmony with the glint of your eyes

- new years kiss? no, too mesmerized while staring at you.. makes up for it with a billion kisses on your cheek when he remembers later

- is NOT spending new years outside im sorry but he probably thinks its too cold

- he can handle a few minutes in the balcony but staying out there the entire night?? no thanks he takes naps waiting for midnight anyway

- spends the first few hours facetiming his mom and sister who chose to celebrate it together, he wasn't made aware of the plan but even if he did he might still wanna spend it with you alone.

- you guys basically just unwind the entire night, a slow routine of skincare, handcare, everything-care

- there's probably slow jazz playing faintly from an unknown source as he massages your scalp as per your request (he looks like he knows his way with hair i mean look at him)

- then, you rope him into the dumbest idea ever

- insisting he use all that man strength he got from blue lock to move a table outside to the balcony, you just giggle as you tiptoe to the kitchen, clearly lost on what this is about

- he understands immediately when you come back with grapes, and just.. sighs.

- "really? we're gonna do that? aren't we already.. dating?"

- "this just doubles our love silly, now come on!"

- you really are lucky he loves you and isn't difficult to persuade.

- now you're both crouched beneath the table, having asked to push it outside so you could still see the fireworks.. kind of.. but you get the idea!

- "ok chigiri go! go! eat them all!" you nearly shout before dropping the timer set on your phone, quickly going at the grapes and pushing him to do so to.

- just in time before 12, you finish them all, nearly about to jump in excitement until you bump your head on the table above you

- yet, you don't feel an ache there at all, instead.. you feel something more like.. skin?

- his hand had made it's way up with speedy reflexes, somehow protecting you from a nasty bump in record time

- "watch yourself idiot.." he grumbles with no real malice before shimmying closer to you beneath the table, then with a burst of courage, leaning in for a kiss

- "happy new years, silly."

- new year's kiss? i give him half a point cause he took too long but yes!! he was totally building courage the entire night

"you say you're not good but why tf do i hear beyonce in the shower???" he exclaims, making you giggle from how stupid that compliment was. sometimes he's a complete fanboy, sometimes a monster on the field, but he will forever be your day one supporter <3

` will melt like an ice cream if you ever dedicated a song to him, he goes "for me??" with dumb puppy eyes and a finger pointed at his chest

` discovers harmonizing duets on a random tiktok and tries to perfect the art, you've caught him taking notes with a singing teacher playing on his youtube.

` overall, he's practically a kpop fan.. but like for you.

` bonus : if you upload videos of your singing he WILL change his display name on social media to something like "[name]'s no. 1 fan!" and his bio is probably like "i dont play about @name "

` RIN.. is curious about it, of course since he's your partner he won't outright say it but he doesn't quite understand why you pursue this means of art. he can see the beauty and effort behind it (he's not an idiot he can acknowledge that of course). so his support would be just as affectionate as he was, it was there, a little hesitant– but there. because he wants to be there for you.

"why'd you stop?" he murmurs, pausing the football highlight on his tablet before looking up at you. his head finding solace within your lap

his glare is enough to get you back to humming another tune as he unpauses the video, his body almost.. relaxing? hmm.. he definitely understands why babies love lullabies now.

` he'd never ever want to make you feel like your love for singing is invalid, so he does try to step out of his circle to be supportive. but most of the time that ends up in him just demanding you to sing😭😭

sae's sprawled out on your room's bed like it was his, a plush you'd thrown at him still remaining perfectly still on his chest, forcing you to sit down on the floor even though it's YOUR bed somewhere in between doomscrolling together (or maybe that was all you, he's sort of just there) you stumble upon gold. your fyp for some reason, decided to show you your own video you made. it was a short cover you'd done of risk it all by bruno mars, and sae– recognizing your voice– jolted awake from his state of doing.. nothing. "when did you post that??" "i can't believe you didn't even show it to me first." "why does it have 200k likes." all while you're laughing at his silly questions, he's redownloading his tiktok.

` bonus: shidou purposefully comments on your videos stuff like "FIRST" or "HELLOOO cant believe ik this diva😂✌️" to piss sae off and it works so well, he is FUMING. blocks shidou on your account and insists he didn't even care at all

` NAGI.. doesn't have a solid opinion, he's like "oh, that's cool" and then sort of forgets about it until he remembers when he loads up spotify. whenever you do hum or sing a little snippet, you might be able to catch him taking out one of his headphones just to listen in on it

"ugh.." nagi groans, swiping out of his game after a particularly irritating lose streak to open tiktok. he's laying down on you, like.. complete bodyweight on you without holding back he sees this one singing challenge and tries it himself, then grunts in annoyance before shaking you awake "hey, wanna try this one out?" he asks, shoving the bright screen all up your groggy face looks at you with so much admiration in his eyes as you try your best while being crushed by him, his eyes look like they have stars bro (but you're his only star👀👀) "ok stop flexing bro"

` supports you so hard online though, if you don't post your covers he'll do it himself (but that kind of backfired when someone thought that was really you and ended up dming nagi😭)

` bonus : nagi has compared you to that one hero in hok/honor of kings that sings like "lalalalala"

` BACHIRA.. is all in! he loves it when you sing! you have probably spent one date hopping around the park with hands held together while you were singing some joyful tune. he encourages your singing SO much, recommends songs for you and makes you tea on some bad throat days

you two were just spending another night together, pizza and whatever nonsense crossed your shared brain. currently he was hyping you up to reach a pitch high enough to talk to dolphins

"bro– wait! my throat hurts.." you complained and bachira instantly toned down the hype, he knows when to back up after all

like instinct, you reach for your phone while waiting for Sae to finish chucking everything back into your car, since he insists you simply wait.

"if you help, you'll complain and make me carry it anyway" he replied back to your protest

then, you see the post, as Sae begins to get frustrated with a stubborn folding chair that didn't budge. a birthday wish post from your dad on twitter

it's corny, filled with unecessary emojis and broken english– reminding you of the distance, of how foreign he now felt to you.

but it was a sign, a sign that somewhere continents away your dad is there, typing away at his phone with that dumb grin ready to post this tweet bound to embarrass you with his love

sae peeks from behind you to look at your phone, curious as to why you haven't answered to his words announcing that he's finished packing up

"your dad?" he pipes up, a raised eyebrow as he scans the post "what?? no! no no... pshh.." you brush it off, rubbing hard at your eyes to get rid of the sting of hot tears

he pushes your hands aside from your face, pulls you into his arms like it's natural and murmurs "it's okay to cry, the post was very.."

he trails off trying to find the words ".. heartwarming"

months later sae finds you cackling like your life depended on it, shaking shoulders and wheezes that sounded unreal

"what could possibly be so funny?" he frowned, stalking towards you as you showed to him on your phone screen what you were hooting and hollering for

"IM CRYING OH MY GAW😭😭" you practically screamed, rolling in your shared bed like a lunatic at the post while he just deadpanned towards you

"not even that funny" he scoffed, snatching your phone from your hands as if that would help cease your laughter anytime soon

yet even as he looks down at the post with so much judgement in his eyes, he opens his own twitter and replies to the post with "thanks dad🔥🔥🔥"

he starts regretting the reply when you see it and start crying laughter again "BOI IM CRINE DID YOU REALLY SAY THAT" , "boi?????"
