She couldn't say what had happened. The ship crashed, why she had no idea. It was pure luck that she survived, pure luck there was an island close enough to swim to from where the ship sank. But it didn't seem like many had managed to reach the island. She'd barely moved from the water's edge, sobbing as she tried to block it out. But there was someone else, his voice managing to break through her thoughts of 'I'm going to die.'

She almost flung herself at him but instead just slowly stood up, still sniffling. "We're going to die." And then the sobbing started again, there was no one else near them.
