First of all gals this would depend heavily if it's after or before his change of heart
In case this is before his development on everything, he's in conflict with his emotions, surely he can't be feeling this... Intense about an inferior human so he kinda acts like you're the worst while still keeping you close to him, quite the contradiction right?
Pretends not to care about your obvious hate for him, still he can't help but feel this strange pressure on his chest every time you try to escape, it's not like you actually have a chance tho and he will definitely punish you and yeah with that I mean you're hurt, not enough to kill you but the pain is so numbing next time you think twice before even entertaining the idea of it, tho this only happens after several attempts, meruem is hesitant to hurt you actually so first punishments are the removal of food and these type shit
You only want more punishment it seems, you truly are a foolish human not that he can't blame you, that's the way humans are, you clearly need to be guided by him
About royal guards, pouf obviously hates you, youpi also kinda dislikes you and both consider you an entertaining pet for their king, that's their point of view, tho with Neferpitou they are kinda neutral, but the king ordered them to keep an eye on you and NOT let you leave so that's what they are doing
If you still keep trying to escape, you're going to be watched 24/7 and never separated from Meruem, forced to watch his games with Komugi
If this is after his change, let's say that for a miracle he survived the venom of the rose he WILL do anything to try and earn your forgiveness, you'll get kinda pampered like he's actually being gentle with you and allowing you a little more of freedom, trying to get your favorite foods and even using Komugi to try and talk you out of it
