species dysphoria is hitting real hard right now :(

THIS SHOW IS SO CRUEL TO ME

holy hell we should not know the final few minutes of the girls in amphibia that well. all the text below this is all out of our head, just from listening to the soundtrack.

core: “you dare use amphibia’s greatest treasure against us?”

anne: “these stones are not amphibia’s greatest treasure!” *a vision of all the friends anne made throughout the series appear behind anne* “mother olm said all I had to do was ask. so... i’m asking. can you help me save the world I love?”

*the stones shake, then shatter. all the power flowing into anne.*

sprig: “anne! please don’t do this! don’t go! I don’t know what i’ll do without you. you’re my everything! you’ve... changed my life!”

anne: “and you’ve changed mine.”

sprig: *sobbing in anne’s hands, then leaves.*

*anne destroys the core moon, then sprig picks him up again in space. then they arrive back on amphibia’s surface. everyone is crying.*

sprig: “come on anne, it’ll be okay!”

*everyone is crying*

anne: “don’t cry sprig, it’s okay! saving this world was the best decision i’ve ever made. my only regret is that, I never... got to see love choice 2.”

*people starts laughing while crying, then anne turns into white leaves that fly away, effectively dying.*

we also know the goodbye scene way too well.

marcy: *holds shards against the sunlight*

“based on what anne told us, I think these shards are low output versions of the stones.”

sasha: “so we can use them to get back home?”

marcy: “in theory... but we’re talking crumbs of energy. judging by the size and luminosity, I think they’re a one time use only.”

anne: “so if we use these to return home, there’s no coming back...”

marcy: “not only that. who knows how they’ll hold for? could be hours... could be minutes.”

hop pop: “well, we better say our goodbyes. you girls need to go back to your own lives, and I think we’ve kept ya long enough.”

*the girls nod to eachother*

*marcy gets a flower crown placed on her head*

marcy: “i came to this world thinking only of myself… it was… wrong of me. and, I wish i’d gotten to know you both better.”

olivia: “i think we all have a lot to learn, master marcy. don’t be so hard on yourself.”

yunan: “in a way… you helped us see what was important as well.”

*camera pans to yunan and olivia’s hands, them holding hands together.*

*camera shifts to andrias.*

marcy: “goodbye, andrias.”

*andrias looks shocked.*

andrias: “take care, kiddo.”

*camera goes to sasha and grime, with grime putting the flower crown on sasha’s head, then them both saluting.*

sasha: “commander.”

grime: “lieutenant. it was… an honor serving with you.”

*sasha tears up*

sasha: “waa! i’m gonna miss you so much!”

*now grime tears up as well*

grime: “not as much as i’m gonna miss you!”

*sasha puts her hands on grime’s shoulder*

sasha: “you find percy and braddock, you tell them i’ll miss them forever!”

grime: “i will… as soon as they find the pieces of my heart and put them back together!”

*as sasha and grime bawl their eyes out, the camera pans to anne and the plantars*

anne: “goodbye, polly. you’re the little sister I never knew I needed. I know you’re gonna grow into an amazing frog and take over the world.”

polly: “heh. without you as my moral compass, I definitely will.”

anne: “goodbye HP. thanks for taking me in. i’m so lucky to call myself a plantar.”

hop pop: “i’m the lucky one, anne. and i’m so blessed to have a granddaughter like you. if you ever need a home cooked meal, or your old room back, just *sniff* stop by.”

anne: “like an old wise frog once told me; family always finds eachother.”

*sprig is crying loudly*

sprig: “goodbye anne. i- i’ll never forget you.”

anne: “and I won’t forget you either, sprig! which means that we’ll never be apart. not really.”

*sprig cries harder*

anne: “nothing will ever change how much you mean to me. not time, or space, or being worlds apart.”

*sprig wipes his tears*

sprig: “spranne against the world?”

anne: “spranne against the world.”

*anne and sprig do their handshake. then anne takes her phone out of her pocket and gives it to sprig*

anne: “here, I want you to have this. maybe it’ll help you on your future adventures.”

*everyone is hugging their found families. then, valeriana nods, showing it’s time to go. the calamity trio goes up the hill, and valeriana adds the last shard to the calamity box and the portal activates. however, the calamity trio then turns around and grab hands and then bow, which makes everyone cheer.*

*then, marcy and sasha turn around and go through the portal. anne also turns around to go through the portal, but feels something on her legs. it’s sprig hugging her leg. anne smiles and crouches down. they have one last hug with an animation that does a 360 rotation around them. anne stands back up, they finally let go of eachother’s hands and anne goes through the portal. the portal immediately closes, and the calamity box shakes and then goes up into dust.*

hop pop: “so… what now?”

olivia: “now we build a better world.”

grime: “together!”

*polly grunts, then a single hair appears on her head. she gasps*

polly: “not to undercut you guys, but… I just got my first hair!”
