I’m a total nerd for the complex dialogue in Hannibal and my other fav shows and no, I don’t wear glasses, but I’ve got the “obsessive over thinker” part down to a science. I don’t just watch my favorite shows; I live in them.

why i love hannibal (the love story): I’m obsessed with those weird, poetic, and layered dialogues because that’s where the real connection happens. It’s messy, it’s complicated, and it’s perfect. That’s where the magic is.

My love for Junjou romantica - for the simple philosophy - CUZ I WANT TO - Wanting to is more than enough of a reason.

My brain needs to be challenged. I am always, always up for a conversation that makes me think deeply. I don’t really do "casual"- I do obsessed!

CONCEPT -

social lion ( Chi Cheng) x solitary tiger ( Wu suowei)

Lets know the characters - 

Chi Cheng (Lion) - recently translocated from Gir Forest. Social, warm, loud, and deeply touch-starved after being separated from his pride. He doesn’t know how to be alone… until he meets someone who teaches him the beauty of silence.

Wu Suowei (Tiger) - A solitary, territorial resident of Kuno. Independent, elegant, and easily annoyed. He values his space above everything - until one loud, clingy lion starts breaking down his walls.

Rest characters will be introduced as the story proceeds. 

There will also be a cub Liger (Lion + Tiger = Liger). Here we are doing MxM.

While hybridization (the breeding of two different species) does happen in nature , the specific cross between a lion and a tiger almost never occurs in the wild.

The main reasons are - 

Separate Continents: Lions primarily live in Africa, while tigers are found in Asia. Their natural habitats almost never overlap 

Different Behaviors: Their social structures are opposite. Lions are highly social and live in prides, while tigers are solitary and territorial. This keeps them from interacting as potential mates .

But we are solving these problems - 

India is the only country in the world where both species live in the wild. Bengal tigers are found across the country, while Asiatic lions live exclusively in the Gir Forest in Gujarat. And both wild lions and tigers share a history of overlapping habitats and continue to roam the nation's ecosystems.

The ongoing real world controversy (Gujarat vs. Madhya Pradesh, Supreme Court involvement) - Despite a 2013 Supreme Court mandate to make Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh the second home for Asiatic lions, The relocation from Gujrat's Gir remains stalled.

This story takes place after that relocation finally happens.

(God knows when in real life. But in fiction? It happens.)

Why Kuno? - Kuno is a transition zone between dry deciduous forest and thorn forest.

The sanctuary has:

Mixed vegetation that suits both species' preferred habitats

A single river (the Kuno) that bisects the sanctuary vertically - this becomes their only reliable water source during dry season.

Why this idea - I've watched too much Animal Planet. And thanks to Dean, my interest in wild cats has only grown.

If someone asks me - cats or dogs? I always go for cats. But not the domestic ones.

Toast to the ones still fighting just to exist in places where your name is a death sentence.

Toast to yourself - scarred, sacred, spectacular.

You were never broken.

You were only waiting for the right light to see your own shape.

We live safe and predictable lives filled with the routines, social courtesies and suppressed desires. It is boring and a quiet despair.

We should embrace those little dark , taboo or raw primal urges but in small controlled doses. It reconnects us with deeper truths about desire, power, mortality, and beauty. Its almost like a vaccine.

Hannibal isn't saying to have total breakdown for everyone. Overdose leads to destruction.

Me instantly - this IS Will !!

after a bad kissing experience with Alana, Will hops in his car despite the snow and drives roughly an hour and a half just to talk to Hannibal in person.

He also made that same drive just to drop off wine at Hannibal's party.

And Hannibal, drove far out of his way to check on Will's dogs as a favor.

Anthony was everything Hannibal wanted. He was the version of Will without empathy. And Hannibal not only killed him but made a HEART of him !!! For Will !!!

Ig what fascinates Hannibal is that Will is still empathetic and still has the desire to kill. Anthony didn't have that at all. Anthony was too similar to Hannibal in that way.

I find it so adorable and also so true that despite who is the most similar to us, it is not always our other half.

and Hannibal chose the guy with the different view. The one who completed his, instead of just matching it.

Similarity isn't completion, and Hannibal understood that.

Hannibal knew Will was experiencing hallucinations, time loss and high fevers. Telling Will, “You have encephalitis; let me take you to a hospital,” would have solved the problem cleanly.

Instead, Hannibal said nothing and even actively misled him by implying it was stress or early mental illness.This forced Will to interpret his own deterioration as a loss of self-control, a merging with killers, and a potential innate darkness.

If Will knew he was biologically ill, he could later say, “none of that was me,it was the swelling in my brain. Hannibal didn’t want him to have that alibi from himself. He wanted Will to sit with the horror of not knowing whether the violent thoughts were his own. That uncertainty is the forge of the Becoming.

Hannibal’s own Becoming was catastrophic and uncontrollable. Ig he is trying to engineer a more elegant, deliberate version for Will. By lying about the encephalitis, hannibal introduces a neurological breakdown but frames it as a psychological test.

He is both the cause of the suffering and the only one who offers cryptic guidance -a dynamic that deepens Will’s dependency and transformation.

He tells Will that he is not a killer cuz he is sick. He is sick cuz he is becoming a killer.

He wants Will to accept that his capacity for violence is innate, not some sort of illness.

If you pay attention you'll notice that Hannibal tends to refer Molly as "the" wife, whereas Will calls her "my" (his) wife.

Hannibal is either actively jealous or loves to play with Will by not calling her HIS wife, just THE wife.

Strong and still going.

Love and death are the two fundamental forces that drive human emotions, connections, and empathy.

They are the greatest pivots on which all our feelings and relationships swing. everything else in life (ambition, art, daily routines) ultimately revolves around these two.

We didn't invent emotion, we inherited it from earlier species.This makes emotions primitive, instinctive, and ultimately mundane - not something special or noble.

Unlike basic emotions, cruelty isn't necessary for survival in the wild. Animals kill for food or defense - they don't typically inflict suffering for pleasure, revenge, or entertainment.

Its not actually the emotions, but a special one - CRUELTY that separates humans from animals. Cruelty requires intelligence, choice, and culture

What makes us human isn't love or empathy, it's our ability to deliberately harm for reasons beyond survival.

 It’s uncomfortable because it means cruelty isn’t just “animal instinct” we can blame on evolution. it’s a distinctly human failure.
