( Caesar || Rise / Dawn of The Planet of The Apes. )
Ridicule. That is what he felt. Enraged and frustrated like any other ape, like any average ape. Being forced into a cage, the cold metal bars concealing the freedom he craved, the freedom which Caesar deserved. ' Stupid monkey. ' It fueled him, enraged him more each day as the other apes simply accepted those words, as if they were nothing. As if they didn't understand. One day they would, they would hear the words which he could hear, the spite in the tone of the humans, how looked down upon they were as apes, as if they were insignificant pets. ' I am no pet. '
Will's words were clear in his thoughts, despite the apes rage with his father for leaving him here, he still thought of home often, that is, when his thoughts were not on rebellion, vengeance, taking back the life which he and ape kind rightfully deserved. They had seen it, how Caesar walked, how he was different. In the beginning he was low, beaten and tormented by the other apes, but in less than a meager weak, they changed, the apes looked up to him, admired and respected him, the humans knew, they had to know. But they did nothing. Said nothing. Mainly, because the intelligence in which Caesar clung to so dearly was not bragged about, not by himself nor any other apes, not even Will. After-all; on arrival the young Caesar had been warned graciously by Maurice; ' Humans don't like smart ape. '
But everyday, he grew smarter, more clever, so much so that these cages and straw became more irritating, these humans more patronizing and ignorant. It was time, the other apes knew, their iris' green with defiance. Landon's son was now here, dragging his friends behind him. In attempt to impress, frightening the apes with his taser, causing them to screech and hide away in the corner of their sells. It angered Caesar, caused him to seethe, black fur rising and falling, teeth bared and fists curled as he punched the floor of his cage. Dodge Landon. A nightmare, a pest, a silly young lad with no moral compass nor conscience. A perfect chance, with the boys ignorance and the apes wit; Dodge Landon was a perfect start, a perfect test, or at least, his friend was.
Edging a finger to indicate for the human to come closer, he enticed the curiosity of the fool in whom Landon called Brad. The human boys peach toned fingers curling around the iron bars of Caesars cage in attempt to get a closer look at the primate, like he were on show. Landon was far from paying attention, same said for the other friends. And with that, Caesar sprang upward, his ape like stance vanishing as he stood on two legs, shoulders back and spine straight. Rough fist reaching through the cage and coiling around the flannel shirt of the imbecile who came so close to his cage. Eyes shifting for a moment; he ensured he only grasped the attention of Brad and him alone. Spare fist uncurling, Caesar snatched an item from Brads pocket through the cage bars. Brads smirk quickly fading and eyes filling with fear as Caesar watched him, the pink tone turning white as Caesar bore his teeth. Not to attack, but to mutter.
" Let---------- me ---------- out. "
Nobody would believe him, from what they knew, apes could not speak. Because Humans like to think they are the smartest, the most well rounded civilians. As Landon screeched, screamed at Caesar, the ape uncoiled his fist, throwing the boy away from his cage before returning to his crawling form, moving to the corner of the cage as the fools left the sanctuary. The item he had stolen, shimmering against the yellow light of the dim lamps. Thick fingers pulling the item to show exactly what it was. And indeed Caesar was right. A knife. This would do. And with a glance to Maurice he gave a swift wave, a sign that he was fine, but with no indication to what exactly he had just done. But with the knife in hand Caesar thought to himself, as he opened the blade and closed it in rhythm with the silence; ' Ape not belong in cage. '
