After the fall shedding became a big issue for Levi since back as an angel his scales were more like that of a fish and didn’t need to shed like how reptiles do. So he wasn’t used to shedding, it was not only uncomfortable but his poor diet led to many complications like incomplete shedding or retained skin, and the air wasn’t humidified so shedding was also very difficult. Speaking of his poor diet since the fall Levi never really left his room and only ate junk food resulting in weight gain and because of this it caused a need for shedding to happen far more often. I’d also imagine that Levi would be prone to trying to shed way too early which in part is due to low humidity and poor nutrition but also because it was just so uncomfortable that he’d try to shed it as soon as he could. That led to him typically injuring his new scales often and was overall very painful overall.

Eventually though Asmo had enough and forcefully made Levi properly take care of his shedding and diet so at the very least Levi didn’t develop any very serious health issues. So now shedding while still his least favourite thing in the world wasn’t as bad as right after the fall.

During shedding periods Levi likes to go into his big tank to brush his scales against the rocks and other rougher surfaces to help with his shed. When he does this he typically stays in the water for a few hours while watching an anime.

It takes a very long time for Levi to even let you see him during his sheds so when he asks for your help there’s a lot of trust behind his words. He finds it very embarrassing that you have to see him looking so gross… Like he asked you to help him shed his dead skin! SKIN!! You’d probably find him repulsive afterwards.. But to his utter surprise you’re willing to help him.

While you go draw his bath he nests himself in a mound of blankets and plushes only leaving his head visible and starts moping about how you’ll never want to hangout with him again once this was over which you promptly ignore and continue checking to see if the temperature was alright. Once it’s ready you lead the begrudging Levi to his bathtub. After letting him soak for a while in the bath it’s time to start the shedding process which takes a little encouragement from you to get Levi to give you his tail.

You gently start to remove shedding from where Levi had attempted earlier being careful fearing you might hurt him though it’s rather difficult with Levi’s nervously squirming. Eventually he settles down… A bit… Now you only get him occasionally glancing over at you searching for any signs that you might suddenly hate him. To his relief all he sees is you patiently trying to get shed off in one piece with minimal success.

By the time you’ve finished Levi is lounging contentedly in his tub now doing his dailies on some mobile game and intermittently flicking his tongue out, looking far less uncomfortable with all the shedding gone. You take a moment to admire Levi’s new scales they’re rather pretty up close and especially now that they’re brand new. Your staring is cut short unfortunately since Levi started to feel your gaze on him and quickly retracted his tail.

Levi sets his phone down and quickly dries off while heading over to his gaming console aiming to turn it on. He then grabs two controllers and offers one to you and suggests you both should play a new cozy multiplayer game he got recently. Of course you accept and the rest of the day on is the two of you enjoying each others company.
