Oh boy! Two cute little spiders! I sure hope they donât have a super tragic backstory or something-
This is my first time making a comic so itâs not great but I hope itâs okay enough! It took a while to make at least (maybe probably mostly because of the Dreamstalk ngl) đ

"White Lily HAD to do that for the happy ending, there was no other way-"
THEN HOW IS IT FREEDOM??? She was upset this whole time that her fate was just to be eaten, being given free will just to die in such a cruel and unfair way, and now you're telling me she had NO CHOICE but to kill herself, and that's freedom?? Excuse me, I thought freedom was about choice...
Y'all keep talking about how there was foreshadowing and she was doomed from the start, but doesn't that mean she wasn't even able to free herself from that fate?

I was so excited for Act 2
it has my favorite character as the main villain, it has time travel, it has Revelations references, it even has Cookie SCP! it has everything it needs for it to be something iâd love, EXCEPT for good writing
barely any progress has been made in this story cause of how slow the pacing is, they tease stuff in trailers that looks real cool but that only comes into play as a cliffhanger that will be dealt with at the end of the next episode. and considering Dark Cacaoâs reaction to hearing Shadow Milk detailing his E N T I R E PLAN was âwhat are you plotting?â iâm fairly certain they took the poor man into an alley and lobotomized him between episodes! either that or he got dropped on his head too much during all those timeline shenanigans in the previous one
Tbh I always knew act 2 would be a trainwreck after the absolute dumpster fire that was episode 15. I wasn't excited to see Shadow Milk as the main antag either (and mind you, I'm a Shadow Milk fan) because it actually pissed me off that they killed off all the suicidal characters in one episode so he can get stronger and the lesbianphobic ass way they wrote Eternal Sugar's death in his favor. Shadow Milk's whole arc feels so dragged out and forced now and he basically just became some kid's edgy Deviant Art OC and they made Pure Vanilla look like a dumbass with his interactions with him. Pure Vanilla gets 100 more interactions with him whereas his relationship with Custard and Strawberry Crepe remain underdeveloped... I do noooot care for the way Devsis is writing Shadow Milk and his relationship with Pure Vanilla in recent episodes, it's the reason I have such a weird love/hate relationship with him now. It even feels like they did Shadow Milk himself dirty somehow because he had potential too that now feels wasted but I don't quite know how to explain it
So ig this didn't mean anything
When I talk about how much potential Burning Spice had, I actually don't mind the boredom thing that much because I think that Devsis was onto something when writing him. I think what they were going for was less so "Burning Spice is so bored that he destroys stuff for fun" and more so "Burning Spice realized that the cycle of change in itself is ironically pretty repetitive."
Watching things be born just to die/be destroyed all while you stay practically immortal would have to be such a miserable life. That would take a toll on anyone, realistically.
I think the narrative was insisting that destruction is the very thing that gives abundance meaning- the fact that something is fleeting is what makes it worth savoring
I really love the whole âSilence is representing the dead and the past whereas Freedom represents the future and the livingâ that they had going on with Silentlily and I really liked how at the end of episode 12 they made Silent Salt admit that he always had hope.. I think it showed that Silent Salt wanted Lily to prove him wrong and was testing her ( not like he was justified lmao but still)
Idk we spend the whole ep 11 watching how depressed and hopeless Salt had become and than watching him regain hope become better because of Lily, who had spend the entire episode overcoming her fears and regaining hope it was so peak
Silent Salt specifically saying he was waiting for a cookie to guide Cookiekind to a future of unlimited potential only for DEVSIS to make Lily die in the next update what was that ? How the hell is Lily guiding Cookiekind to a place where freedom awaits and into a future of unlimited potential if she dies just like that what was the so called âunlimited potentialâđđ
THIS. ALL OF THIS. Silentlily had so much potential. The narrative had consistently potrayed death as silence and living as freedom. White Lily had gone to the Land of Silence and witnessed countless spirits trying to break free. Charcoal and his ancestors had to spend generations freeing these poor spirits and they're STILL not all gone. Lily learned that living is about making your own choices, therefore living is freedom! Silent Salt and Lily as personifications of life and death could've been sooo peak. They could've been a motivating and hopeful story about why we need to stay alive and suicide isn't the answer only for both of them (and the other suicidal/mentally ill characters) to be killed off in one episode thinking that they were right, JUST when they just found a reason to live... They all deserved better character arcs
Devsis did hollysugar dirty. A bad ending is one thing, but Eternal Sugar was basically proven right- all these horrible things happen to her as soon as she steps out of her garden, Hollyberry doesn't seem to gaf despite it being shown to us repeatedly that she does actually care about ES, and the characters are "better off" with the beasts dead despite the story making it clear that the ancients need to co exist with their corresponding beasts to maintain balance. All while Shadow Milk gets another million episodes
A lot of the reasons behind why Shadow Milk should be understood and co exist with Pure Vanilla also apply to the other beasts, but Hollyberry never got the chance to really understand Eternal Sugar that much
Hollysugar had so much potential. As a lesbian, I was so happy to see such complex sapphic representation. I really hope I do not have to watch such a compelling sapphic story have such an unsatisfying conclusion so the men can shine. Please don't do this to my girls, Devsis
I don't mind bad endings, this one specifically just feels vaguely misogynistic and lesbianphobic

I mean Lilyâs ending was a bad written one and I think most people know that but I see people also saying âIt wasnât misogynist because other characters who werenât female died too â but I think her ending was misogynist even if male characters died
Because wasnât White Lily cookie literally fridged and this isnât some background character weâre talking about this is the Woman who started this storyline
Don't get me wrong, I'm also mad about Burning Spice and Silent Salt too, but people weren't calling Lily/Dark Enchantress' deaths weren't misogynistic because a woman died, it's because this woman (who happened to be carrying the lore on her back and is supposed to be the main antagonist of the franchise) died so unceremoniously before her relationships with other women had a chance to be expanded on (her conflict with Golden Cheese is left with an unsatisfying conclusion and Lily didn't even get to meet Matcha), her death and last moments were made all about a man (Pure Vanilla) who didn't even understand her, and this was all done to get Dark Enchantress out of the way so Shadow Milk can be the new main antagonist despite Dark Enchantress being the main villain for years. This is all without mentioning that within this same episode, ANOTHER suicidal woman (Mystic Flour) died and omg don't even get me started on what they did to Eternal Sugar
Whether it's intentional or not, CRK writers have this weird habit of having the narrative validate their characters' unhealthy mindsets
Lily who was too ready to sacrifice herself and thought she deserved/needed to die in order to make up for her mistakes only for her to actually sacrifice herself for the happy ending as "character development"
Mystic Flour who thought that everything including her own life was meaningless after her power was taken advantage of by countless people finally "returns to flour" (in other words, dies)
Eternal Sugar who was so scared of the world outside of her garden to the point of borderline kidnapping people so they can be "happy" and "safe" with her gets set on fire, betrayed, and killed when she does finally step outside
Pure Vanilla who hated himself and thought he was a useless king who didn't deserve his title due to a mistake made during a traumatic event abdicates to show the audience his "humility" (despite the narrative never showing us that inequality was even a problem in his kingdom during his reign)
Burning Spice who sought out someone/something that could destroy him due to pure boredom with the repetition of the cycle of change actually gets destroyed (killed)
Silent Salt who thought that he deserved only the worst for losing his virtue and overall lost faith in cookiekind kills himself so his souljam wouldn't be exploited
Y'all are noticing the pattern, right?
