Thought Rant
Becoming a mom has made me question a lot about what the future holds for my daughter. Seeing the state of everything, it’s not going to get any better. I try to make sustainable choices, which in turn saves me money, but I am far from perfect. I love over spending on clothes (especially for baby) and beauty products and I am the ideal customer. New product? I need it. Recipe inspirations? I’ll buy the ingredients, make it and leave it 2 weeks in the fridge, untouched.
My major wake up call was my yearly big clean-up. I threw away hundreds of dollars in barely used products, gave away 5 bags of clothes that I have worn once or bought for the novelty of the product. It made me think: What was the purpose of buying this? It didn’t give me any satisfaction, didn’t make me happy, only contributed to a clutter of things i didn’t want to get rid of in case I would need it eventually. Material doesn’t equate to happiness and I needed that reminder.
So, what can I do? What choices can I make to reduce my carbon footprint and inspire others to help make the world a better place? It can be as simple as buying local, or going completely vegan and living off grid. I’m here to inspire, learn and hopefully help change some things in your lives to make a difference, be it big or small.
