"Honey, it's getting late and you look sleepy. We should head to bed," Tenna says, stroking your back. You reflexively lean into his touch. His hands are always so warm.
Post-bath and in matching pajamas (obviously Tenna's idea), the two of you are curled up on his red velvet sofa and are binge-watching the latest show off of his screen. You're very cozy laying on his chest and the prospect of moving an inch is unappealing.
"Just one more episode?" you ask, hugging his large frame.
"That's what you said last night, sweetie. And then we stayed up way too late." Tenna kisses your forehead. "Didn't we promise each other we'd fix our sleep schedules?"
He's right, you did promise him that. It was part of the house rules Tenna had set up when you moved in together.
You're still not used to having anyone else witness your inconsistent bedtimes, let alone having someone care if you got enough sleep.
"That's my good [girl/boy/lil star]."
Tenna carries you in his arms towards the bathroom and the two of you engage in your new nighttime routine. He gives you some privacy (that you had to request) while you brush your teeth and floss while he turns off lights around his place. He comes in while you're doing your skincare as he brushes his teeth. Tenna watches you closely as you rub cream into your skin. The novelty of getting ready for bed together still hasn't worn off for either one of you.
You perch yourself on the edge of his large bed and Tenna sits behind you, your comb comically tiny in his hand. Ever so gently, he combs through your hair as if every strand is precious. This, by far, is your favorite part of the new routine. Feeling the wooden tips of the comb against your scalp, his hands stroke your hair as he moves downward. If he encounters a knot, he holds your hair as he slowly untangles it. You can feel his looming body heat against your back. When he finishes, he runs his hand over your head all the way down to the ends of your hair, then [parts your long hair and] kisses the back of your neck.
Sometimes, that one kiss sends electricity down your spine and soon you're making out. Other nights like tonight, you just feel immensely loved.
You plug in his tail on his built-in outlet in his bed frame, then lay next to Tenna as he pulls the sheets over you both. He holds you close, his screen on the same massive pillow as your head.
"You all settled in, my lil star? Comfy?" he asks.
You nod, giving him a sleepy smile.
"I just want you to be happy, my love."
"I'm always happy if I get to be with you, Tenna."
You didn't mean to make him cry, but tears start welling on his screen.
"Oh angel, that's my line. You're the light of my life. Home is wherever you are."
You kiss, then Tenna kisses each of your closed eyelids.
"Goodnight, Tenna. I love you."
"I love you too. Sweet dreams, my lil star."
You can sense that he's gazing at you with his screen off. Tenna's never admitted it, but you've caught him watching you sleep a few times. You know he's worried you'll find it creepy, but you actually take comfort in it. You've always slept alone, done everything alone. Now, someone loves you so deeply that they watch over you as you rest. Life has become so beautiful. You're unsure what you did to deserve this man's love, but you're forever grateful.
His breathing and the whirring of his mechanical body cocoon around you as you drift off to sleep.
I was going to do a morning routine portion to this but it kinda got longer than expected. Expect a morning part 2 soonish!
