The mega-flower forest grows (the view from Los Pedros)
Still Minecrafting... working on loose ends. Finishing projects. Getting new ideas (for later). Iâve been busy in RL so spending lots of idle times at my sheepies sheep farm collecting flower colors. So far Iâve doubled the size of the flower forest, but will need to double it again to the horizon. I have abunch of designs but I think Iâll focus on the tulips in pink and magenta with a few purples. Maybe one more white in the distance.
Iâm still working on the nether travel network, but needed a distraction... which is why Iâm here. Next up Iâm either going to build a fireworks castle/laboratory far to the west on an island in the sea or play a variant of âThey Are Billionsâ rescuing zombie villagers and building a massive ramshackle and pyramidal âcityâ filled with citizens ... hmmm
When someone asks you use your house as an inter-dimensional transport... just say ânoâ. Insurance isnât going to cover this! #structural_damage
(my Minecraft in the Morning station on my nether transport network)
Just Carrots has become Just Major Mineshaft Works. Iâve never constructed a mine that wasât more practical than pretty. So this is new for me. But it all started with finding a nice, wide ravine nearby the carrot field. It gave me inspiration to build something Iâve always wanted to attempt. The extensive deep access stairway is just the first step...

Sunrise and sunset. Iâm gaining about a inventory of carrots each harvest, but then plant a third of them. I had to make a carrot storage room, which Iâll post photos of soon. Also up: âJust Tatersâ and a nether portal because it is a long walk back to civilization. I donât have a diamond pick or an ender chest for access to my shulker storage, but there is a lava pool nearby so Iâll use that to make obsidian.
There is also a forest town within view of the hill over the lava pool. It really makes me want to connect it to the roadways of the Commonwealth on the west edge of this same continent. Hmm.... I love road building!
âJust Carrotsâ tree house balcony views. From top to bottom. The first balcony which was the original landing. It has the best views of the field. The second balcony off the main room has a view toward the dark and unused valley which I might have a plan for soon. And lastly the final three shots are of the large mult-level balcony off the bedroom. It is really just step ups using slabs and upside-down stairs. Being the highest it has access to the canopy and the horizon views.
âJust Carrotsâ tree house interior. From top to bottom: The first two shots are of the basement platform with tool chests, building materials, and storage or mob parts. Access to upper levels on the opposite side of the trunk. Next two photos show the main room from each of the two balcony doorways. The last shot is of the bedroom up the stairs from that balcony doorway. The crafting table is under one of the chests... which was then switched with an anvil. Blocks are stored next to the furnace, and food and armor next to the bed. No enchanting area here, but I might add a brewing station somewhere. Next up: The balcony views.
The âJust Carrotsâ tree house exterior (mostly) finished. I think I might extend the up-side down stairs on the base platform so it looks a bit more sturdy. In the third and bottom picture it looks a little precarious. Did not realize you can put flower pots on top of fence posts! Maybe that is new? Next up: interior.
Just Carrots. Find a nice secluded little valley that is relatively easy to defend with trees and a few fences. Then just plant and harvest... very relaxing. More useful on a server where you can sell the carrots, but still fun.
In the past Iâve just built little huts with fence walls, but here there was a giant oak in the center so I thought to make a tree house. I completely messed up the first, so regrew a tree and tried again. I eventually realized I didnât need the exterior stairs. A ladder up the trunk is prettier and works much better! However it seems leaf blocks donât block rainfall very well even a through multiple blocks... so it is a wet house. Haha!
After these pictures I added a third balcony just off the bedroom and was almost instantly attacked by Phantoms (I left all of my armor behind when I left my MitM house with just some wood and tools). Not relaxing!

This is new! Cool! Oh... Oh crud-fritter...
While playing some Just Carrots (more on that later...)
You know it is going to be a weird morning when... you find
1) a turtle in a well
2) a house split down the middle (make that two houses)
2) weird world paint issues
Gotta love 1.13.1, the bug fix edition.
Just chilling... got distracted from my chores at MitM and built a grain silo. Weary from that job I built a better recliner in front of my bedroom fireplace. So toasty warm, now. Where did I put my book. Yawn. So, sleepy.... but waiting for the night phantom. Zzzzzzz
Doing some morning chores at my âMinecraft In The Morningâ house. Just upgraded to 1.13.1 and took a swim in the river. Very ready to go through my check list and tour the world to make any necessary fixes. First though need to milk the cows, gather eggs, harvest melons, and finish that pig pen.
BTW, check out âMinecraft In The Morningâ if you havenât. It is a discontinued Minecraft series by TainMarr that started sometime in 2012-2013. Very relaxing...
I played on the same world seed for awhile and ended up with this house and barn, which is only slightly similar to what TainMarr built. But since that was a 1.6 world, I long searched for the right spot to rebuild it in Keitharnia. Finally, I found a spot far to the east of The Commonwealth. I had to do some landscaping and fill in a wide spot in the river to make my front yard, but I do love this area. Now it is my primary llama farm. Still trying to collect all the llama/carpet types.
The only rule here (other than to relax) is that I canât bring anything into the area from Keitharnia at-large. So when I arrive at the portal in a nearby volcano(tm) I have to change into local garb and empty my inventory... very Star Trekian.
Sand Mining. I meant to go back here and take more screenshots but I havenât yet. This process involves fencing an area, then removing all of the sand and sandstone, and finally capping it with sand over a slabs. All while preserving the original topography. Very soothing and fun.Â
Iâve done a larger area and found a few very dangerous ravines. But Iâve almost reached the maximum area without damaging the nearby hills. So it has converted to a dirt and gravel deposit mine.
I really need to go back and take more photos!

Exploring and looking for llamas in all the wrong places. So many cool landscapes!
Finally fixed all of the âworld wallsâ and bad transitions (in June) in my Keitharnia map. Kinda fun actually... like sculpture. Of course I did it all in creative. Iâd tried doing a few areas in survival but it was too slow and boring. I should have been better at taking before and after shots. So this is really the only one I have...
My process was to use world edit to add in new chunks until I had a nice water/land transition and then manually edited it the rest of the way. Here I had to round a corner out and lower the land until it couldnât be seen from the surface. I also removed that spit of land. This edit wasnât bad. The join in other areas took much planning and thought. This was just manual drudge work.
