And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'' Nowadays, it is so easy to speak of 'Lord'. There comes a time when, I admit, 'Lord' loses its meaning that it is becoming familiar to us. We utter His authority with empty intentions. We acknowledge Him through our words without deep regards of His power. We, Christians, are guilty of this at some point in our lives. Good news is that we have all the time in the world to correct that. Going back, the verses speak to me about hypocrisy. Now I'm thinking, if you don't have any intention or regards of Him as you say 'Lord', might as well not speak. We should always remind ourselves that familiarity of Him is unhealthy. We should direct our dealings with Him as something as if first time with full of excitement.it is still the manifestations of our obedience towards Him, which can be seen through our works and character, that will be visible and be recognized by Him. Empty acknowledgement won't help ourselves be shown up before Him. He will never know us if we'll continue tolerate that hypocrisy in us- may it be unintentional or not. We should always be mindful and sensitive enough.
